In computing top speed, which is normally determined on a flat level road, no slope or gradient and acceleration, the inertial, grade force and sin angle are not used. In short, only the aerodynamic drag and rolling resistance are included.
Great video. Just one doubt though. In the Wheels_dirver_vehicledyn_lib model, why is Fx output of the tire block multiplied by 2 before going into the 1 DOF longitudinal vehicle body. Also is the wheel speed output of the tire block correct or should it also be multiplied or divided by 2

It's I(bat) = (Voc - (Voc^2 - 4*R(int)*PowerRequired)^0.5)/(2*R(int)) instead of I(bat) = Voc - ((Voc^2 - 4*R(int)*PowerRequired)/(2*R(int))) ^ 0.5. Please help me guys! Why is in the PID Control the proporation of P 7500 and the I Proporation 1? And why is the input v [m/s] and the output the tractive force. I thought it is P = F * v.???
They just tuned the PID manually until they get relatively accurate results through trial and error. The input is in velocity because that's what the drive cycle data outputs. You then need to convert that into a traction force request into your vehicle model, which is done by the PID.

As mentioned. PID tuning. Typically you'd just run the model and give it a step response. Crank up kp until you have oscillation, and then reduce it by about half and crank up your ki until you meet steady state.

You should consider slope also for rolling resistance force: Frr = mgcos(theta)Crr not Frr = mgCrr
8:10 Shouldn't your rolling resistance be (normal force x Crr). Which means, it shall be (mg cosθ x Crr)?

Trial and error or simulink has a PID block which has a feature to determine the constants for your expected curve
