How old? I’m 57 and only just recently decided that I love Ween, although I liked them in the late 90s and enjoyed The Mollusk on release. What other bands do you love? Have you checked out King Gizzard? They’re similarly eclectic and talented….a tiny bit inaccessible just because of the hugely diverse and extensive catalog but like Ween, very few bad songs, all if which can go from a “meh” to your favorite of all time suddenly (when you get what you missed before).

You need to listen to ween’s demos. Songs like Beacon Light, Mango Woman, That Man From The Flat Land, Kim Smoltz, Ooh Va La, I’ll miss you, DC won’t do you know good, Cornbread Red, Vallejo, Britney, Albrosia Parsley, Eulogy for David Anderson, Things you already know, Hello Johnny, Linda the Sexy Dancer, Pot Luck are better than a lot of the studio releases IMO. Guaranteed Ween will at least be in your top 5 once you do a deeper dive.

Yup. My friend David Almond showed me this in 06 I think and I was HOOKED. Flew from SF to Austin to see them at ACL Fest a few weeks later. Have seen them a few more times over the years. Always great!❤

So I saw King Crimson a few years ago at the Ryman in Nashville and they had a no phone rule. Was the first show I’d been to like that and I actually fucking loved it. Was nice not seeing hundreds of screens blocking my view. When the show ended the band walked out on stage and took a picture of the crowd and they gave us a chance to take a picture of them.
These guys are as original, authentic, gifted, and FUN as it gets! There were too many great jam bands from this era, that I didn't make room for Ween... big mistake. Thank you for posting this! Much like the Dead, you truly don't get Ween until you hear them live. It's really hard to pin them down into a genre, because they can play anything. I feel it's that touch of melodic Americana that makes them so special ❤
This is by a wide margin the best Ween show. They just sound so utterly perfect. Kudos to whoever was doing the sound/mixing as its just so amazingly well balanced.

Claude Coleman's drumming is absolute majesty, especially on the early drum machine stuff he's recreating like on You Fcked Up.

I have so many memories of watching the Live in Chicago DVD with my dad when I was a kid. Ween absolutely blew my kid mind
