Jacob May agreed. I'm not a fan of Logic but I can acknowledge his talent. When I see friends or coworkers just gobble up all his content with no criticism or being open to hearing why I might not like somethingfrom him, it seems very close minded to me. I love that these guys can go in being admitted Logic supporters, while still pointing being able to point out his missteps.
And I have been listening to Logic for almost 6 years and he has been my favorite artist since I was in high school. I can definitely understand why some people like him and others may not. The one good thing is he has such a plethora of different music that there is bound to be something almost everybody likes. Respect man, good to see that even though we have different opinions on the music, we can agree on the the reasoning behind said differences.
Agree with you, even though logic is one of my favorite artist I just add 2 or 3 songs of BTII to my playlist which is very poor for logics standarts, he'll killing it with another project hopefully though

The whole Elton John thing at the end is because on Tech's song Sriracha, Joyner has a line where he name drops Elton John. So throwing that voice mail at the end was to let Joyner know that Logic is talking about him without actually saying his name.

The Elton John voicemail in Yuck was crazy clever because it was a low key response to Joyner's verse in sriracha "someone let Elton John know." It was also a reference to Joyner's 508 album where he had voicemails at the end of most of his tracks. I thought it had three meanings in one which made it the perfect passive jab at Joyner.

What I find dope in the song “Yuck” is that the elton john voicemail is the ultimate flex towards Joyner. In Sriracha, Joyner said “sing for the moment I hit the high note, someone please let Elton John know.”

what you really have to understand about Logic is that he has 3 rapping personalities, 1) “Logic”, which is all about his deep, personal, slick rhyming very emotional, intricate work. 2) “Bobby Tarantino” which is his Banger songs that you bump to in the club or the car, and has those catchy vibes and singing melodies. then there’s 3) which is “Young Sinatra” which is all about his fast, crazy flows and riding the beat hard. So when he had the song featuring “Young Sinatra” that was the part where he was spitting his fast crazy flow and riding the beat. and how the album is called “Bobby Tarantino” so you can expect most of the songs are going to be more banger type songs and not so much of his deeper more slick work.

As a kid of the 80's, I was fortunate to have the legendary artists of the 90's shape my rap tastes.
Tough acts to follow, for sure.
I quit listening to rap around 10-12 years ago because I felt that the mainstream stuff being promoted was light on substance, and heavy on trash lyrics. Before I get roasted; yes, there was certainly songs with great messages that came out during my absence from the genre. However, it just wasn't my thing.
I clicked on this album review because I'm one of the #freethinkers. I gotta tell you, I couldn't have been more pleased that I did! I've subsequently watched 6 or 7 more videos of yours from this genre, and I'm very happy that there are artists out like Logic, and Kendrick. Artists with very meaningful and profound messages in their lyrics. I know there are more artists out there that fit into this category. I'm looking forward to more reviews!

I think something that was missed on midnight was that first half was purposely corny. Listen to the hook on the 2nd half. Shit says oh Bobby don’t do them like that. He’s saying that’s not him. It’s a really nice scheme and is honestly brilliant.

The only problem with Joyner being mad over the whole phone number and suicide awareness song is that this supposed event where he told Logic's manager happened "weeks" (Joyner's words exactly) before 1-800 dropped, but there are snippets of 1-800 in production MONTHS prior to that, so I honestly think Joyner is just reaching and looking for reasons to be angry. The 1-800 track was already bound to blow up, it was a simple radio record with an important message, I think Joyner saw it blow up and decided to take all credit for it. ALSO for the Elton John voicemail, it's another jab because on Tech N9ne's "Sriracha" (which featured Logic and Joyner), Joyner had a line that went "Sing for the moment, I hit the high note // someone please let Elton John know"
