To top it off he brought down two of the invaders while our sturmovics pounded enemy emplacements. I just wish he hadn't come down on landing so roughly. I watched that bounce and winced when I saw him nearly smile the gear out. Fortunately the ishak is a tough bird and can handle his abusive relationship with it. I recommend our squadron commander to give him the order of the red star for his show of skill and to help boost morale after his first day here was such a disaster. For now let's see where I left my paintbrushes and can of OD Green paint. I got work to do.

Poor Vitaly, he was due to rotate back to Stalingrad in a few weeks. Vitaly was excited to go back because that was his home. This is honestly my second favorite now after the SH3 series. Partly because your storyline narration is always great and partly because the I-16 is such a sympathetic stubby little plane. I very much prefer it over some boring BF-109.
Rat with canons is the I-16/24! The first IL2 first came out, I flew the Rat for over a year.. My favorite plan for years 39-42. Still when I play IL2 I still fly the Rat!!

Congratulations on your 2 kills. The I-16 seems to be able to hold its own with the Bf 109E, especially at low level. But the much faster Bf 109F is definitely a problem!

@@Wolfpack345 yea I haven't played il2 since I was a kid and I had 2 separate dvds for it so I was looking to get back into it but definitely wasn't going to use anything but a joystick and I remembered that the camera movements were really sharp and all or nothing type of movements so also wanted to fix that since yours are really clean and smooth. though i think ill get something a bit more beginner then a Thrustmaster since I remember those being an investment and I only wanna play it once and a while

I had an i-16 campaign and I ran out of ammo go used my landing gear to take out a heavily damaged bf 109. Still totally air worthy but the game auto bailed me out?! Has that ever happened to you?
once you get your plane painted up are you going to track your kills with markers on your paint scheme? I don't know anything about this game, but I do paint cars in iRacing and its fairly easy.
Great shooting! Those guys never knew what hit them. Can I ask why you reduce the prop rpm prior to landing though? On real aircraft it goes to 100% as part of the downwind check and stays there. It controls the prop pitch and 100% is full fine, gives you almost flat blades to the airflow to help slow down while also giving maximum power quicker if you need to go around. Not sure how it is in IL-2 but it should take much, much longer to slow down as you’re getting much reduced drag off the prop disc at the lowest rpm setting (full coarse pitch, almost feathered)?
It goes along the the dash of the aircraft. The white half circle with the black lines and writing right below the gunsight. Hope that helps. Also, thank you!

German gun crew... I swear we saw a ghost plane swamp down blow up a gun crew then shot down 2 aircraft and off just disappears in the clouds.

This plane was used in the spanish war (1936-39) supporting republican government. It was called "mosca" (fly), love it.

No I have never auto bailed out. It may have been a bug at the time.

You are right I should not be reducing RPM. I was just working on my landings haha.
