Love all the different cichlids you've added and love the whole scape (especially as you've no ugly sponge filters to ruin the look!) The look of this set up will only improve with time, great job
That tank looks awesome! Jason your rock stacking skills have definitely improved lol. The only thing I would change is I would build a spray bar and intake with black pvc so it fully blends in to the background, Aquarium co-op has made videos on how to make both and the are very hard to see on a black background. I'm excited to see the rest of the scapes and if they all look this good you guys are gonna have one of the nicest fish rooms on RUclips.
Really like the rock work and the selection of fish. I’m not much into the African cichlids but can appreciate the fish. Looking forward to see if you put in any plants…
Jason, this is a nice simple landscape. Nothing fancy, just simple. Easy to view and the rocks are unique. I like it because it is not over thought. Really Cool!!!
Your channel inspired my 150g similis, julie, cyprichromis tank. Its been running for 1.5yrs and the population has stabalized at what i estimate is ~300 fish.
That’s a good looking tank, Jason! The rock formations are cool, and certainly seem to make the fish feel right at home. Great choices for the fish, too! Nice Tanganyikan community! It’ll be an awesome backdrop, but get lots b-roll, too after you’ve added the shells and everyone’s settled in. I’d like to see a follow up video down the road.
NICE!! I had to laugh at myself when you first showed the first tote of rocks I got all excited...oh boy oh boy ROCKS. I love the rocks. The new light really highlights these rocks too (and the fish) Nice job.
Jason, Wow that is so cool to bring all into one tank like that. ❤ this is awesome looking fish. I got some new fish coming in for my 5 gal planted, a sparkling gourami as my center piece. I have some blue leopard danios going into my 20 long planted and some Dr. Fish for algae control. My 55 gal planted is getting finally 6 Congo tetras. And a few more rainbow fish. A golden Ram and a blue Ram. And a SAE to help with the black algae. I can’t wait to see the colors and the Congo tetras and that blueish hue and their fins are amazing. ❤
You could potentially place a double layer of light diffuser below the rock and where you want to place plants. I did this in a tank with C. saulosi, where I put dirt in the area protected by the diffuser, planted valisneria , and covered everything with sand and rocks. It kind-of worked: the saulosi have not distubed the dirted layer nor dug everything, but they ate the plants our of existence. For the past year they are breeding non-stop, and I periodically add large amounts of Java moss (which are gradually eaten) and try to re-home juveniles with my LFS.
Aweeeeesome! Iam cycling in an 240litre Tank (ca 55gallon) at the Moment. Iam planning to cohouse Synodontis lucipinnis with Neolamprologus multifasciatus (my first half dozens multiplicated in 4 month quickly) and Paracyprichromis or Cyprichromis! Later in 2024 i want to build up an 100gallon Tank and then cohouse this Tank mates with another Tank mates of Julidochromis transcriptus (in 4month from a pair to over 25🤦♂️🤷🏻♂️) and Altolamprologus compressiceps Chaitika! So i enjoy your Video very much as somehing like a preview for my own tank(s)! Greetings from Black Forest Region in Germany ❤
Wow! It looks amazing! I can’t wait to see the future scapped tanks! Dumb question…is it possible to add too much FritzZyme 7? Thx for another great video ❤
You had sold me on the 33 long in previous videos but they had been discontinued. I grabbed two of the 60g breeders that are out during the gallon sale and am going to start a Psyprichromis only tank for breeding. Hard to decide on what locale though...so many options.
Nice setup. I 'm so glad I found your channel. Keep up your enthusiasm and good work. I live in Sweden and have 3 tanks at home right now. One with Tanganyika approx 55 Gallons. I plan to upgrade to a 85 Gallon tank (325 Litre) My set up now : 1 pair Altolamprologus Compressiceps Gold Head, 4 N Caudopunctatus, 1×2 N Cylindricus. Do you think that I also can add a group of C Leptosoma in the sane setup in my coming 85 G tank ? I ask as N Cylindricus could be somewhat aggresive but they prefer to hanging around in the caves.
Veer impressive! Glad to know yall use fritzyme 7 as well. If yall can tell me where yall got the super red bristlenose I'll order 1 now. Img that I didn't know they got to be that red
I had a setup similar to this. It looked great, but I couldn't get the Cyp fry to survive. They'd spit the babies into the rocks and the Julies just said "thanks for the snack!". Do you think you'll be able to get the Cyps to breed in there? If so, I'd love a follow up video on how you've succeeded with them!
That Looks Amazing!! I have set up a Multies(neolamprologus multifaciatus) tank after watching your "Low Boy" I added some plants for betterment of water and unfortunately some uninvited bladder snails came along with them currently I tried to remove them one by one whenever I see them but it seems like it's not working. :( I am thinking to add some loaches to do their work for me, I need your help will this work??
My julidochromis regani are always hanging around my multies , even tho theres a huge rock pile on the other side One large female juli controls that rock pile
Could I do version of this with 40 breeder. It's already setup with similis colony. Could I add Julies and a smaller free water swimmer like paracypichronos?
Those super reds are SUPER red, mine are nowhere near that red. What can I do if anything to help color them up ? They are probably 6/8 ish months old. I feed all kinds of food from flakes/pellets(tetra color granules, frozen brine/blood to algae wafers n snail sticks.
Stop making me want a cichlid tank! 😅 For plants, what about one or two Crinum calamistratum? Simple, hardy plant that would give height but not detract from the fish & rock-works. Slow growers, but you can leave it in its grow-pot behind the rocks.
So, this has NOTHING to do with your video other than you mentioned that you didn't want to do a true biotope. As a professor, you're as good and likely better than anyone else I would ask, so here it is. It has always been my understanding (and my understanding is often wrong) that the term "biotope" means building an exact replication of a specific location. Whereas, if you were building a "biotype," that would mean you're building a loose representation of an overall location. Is that close, or is that as wrong as Billy Madison's answer, where the judge/moderator needed to pray that God have mercy on his soul?
It won't matter - too much flow at the top of the tank for it to become a major issue. We'll remove it as it appears. Two things I don't bother trying to control - duckweed and snails.

So proud of the world’s newest aquascaper!! 🪨 🤗🪨Woohoo!!
And rightfully so!
Bet he learned from the best! 😉
The rocks actually look really pretty. Nice fish, really robust. I can’t wait to see more of the gallery! Thanks for the video.
We had a few more fish than I thought we did! Haha
Love the Tanganyikan community. Thanks for sharing, Jason!!
I love it! The only plant I would add is jungle val but the hardscape only look looks more authentic. Great work
I like all the rock formations 👍
The rocks have beautiful colour, shades of purple, green on grey.Very nice Love!!
Love all the different cichlids you've added and love the whole scape (especially as you've no ugly sponge filters to ruin the look!) The look of this set up will only improve with time, great job

Looking good guys!!! An exciting start to the new gallery!!

Great job on the gallery’s 1st tank set up😀👍🏻
Really like the rock work and the selection of fish. I’m not much into the African cichlids but can appreciate the fish. Looking forward to see if you put in any plants…
Wow those super reds are amazing!
4K video much appreciated. wonderful color coming through on my color corrected system. great upgrade, jason!
Thank you!
I wholeheartedly agree with you Joanna ..😇
Jason,I always had faith in you about Aquascaping 🤩🤩
🐷💭🩵🌱🐟🪨
Thanks 😀
Cichlids are not my fav fish, but still...I love the aquascaping in this tank. Awesome job!
👍❤️👍
Thank you!
it looks awesome ! I'm stoked to see the gallery come together !
Jason, this is a nice simple landscape. Nothing fancy, just simple. Easy to view and the rocks are unique. I like it because it is not over thought. Really Cool!!!
Thank you - yes, what we do still has to be easy to maintain. : -)
Your channel inspired my 150g similis, julie, cyprichromis tank. Its been running for 1.5yrs and the population has stabalized at what i estimate is ~300 fish.
So awesome!
I love non-planted tanks. Great job

The video definitely made it look super easy to complete.
It wasn't too bad. : -)
Looks fantastic!!
Good job! Im looking forward for more stuff like this. Greetings from Hans (Germany)
Thank you!
I like African Cichlid tanks without plants in them 75 gallon looks great can’t wait to see the next one in the gallery
Thank you!
Very nice!! You literally just set up the exact aquarium that I'm planning. The only difference is I have a 120 gallon.
Have fun!
Looks nice and I look forward to seeing it as a backdrop for the livestream! I call that the practical person's biotope. Now I want one!
Yes! : -)
Jason! That looks amazing! If you wanted to make it even better, I would add some anubis and / or Java fern.
Love it!! I am in the planning and research stage of doing this same thing,it's going to be a 60 breeder. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Awesome!
What a tank, love it
It will be awesome to see shell dwellers again on your channel after soo long 😍
They’re still all over the fish room. Haha
Looking good!
looks great, impressed...

Great video Detroit
Looks so very nice!
Very good like the combination I am soon to set up my large lake Tanganyika community tank
That’s awesome!
That is beautiful
Love this!!!!
Looks good
Wow! It looks amazing! I can’t wait to see the future scapped tanks!
Dumb question…is it possible to add too much FritzZyme 7?
Thx for another great video ❤
It’s possible, but a little extra doesn’t usually do any damage.
Haha! Fun and funny video!
Very nice ❤
Great video
I’ve got simillis & transcriptus coming in for my 75g Friday! And paracyps hopefully in the near future
That will be a nice tank!
You had sold me on the 33 long in previous videos but they had been discontinued. I grabbed two of the 60g breeders that are out during the gallon sale and am going to start a Psyprichromis only tank for breeding. Hard to decide on what locale though...so many options.

The cyps should work well. Thanks for being here!
Nice. If you add plants though, I think you'll have much better luck with Java fern with those rocks and sand than you would with crypts.
My dream setup for years has been a 75g with 4 Caribe piranha's.
Veer impressive! Glad to know yall use fritzyme 7 as well. If yall can tell me where yall got the super red bristlenose I'll order 1 now. Img that I didn't know they got to be that red
I got those a long time ago from a GCCA swap?
Finally get to meet you today! Heading to the gcca swap, been talking about it to the girlfriend for around 2-3 weeks now non stop😂🤝
Awesome!
It’s a 75 why not! 🤣😂🤣 yup love it

I am thinking to add some loaches to do their work for me, I need your help will this work??
There is a chance the multis will attack the loaches, A better option might be assasain snails?
And what if I left them like that is there any possibility they eat multies eggs??
That's what I've been wanting to do is it possible you would have some fish to sell at the spring quad cities meet?
I should have the Cyprichromis for January and Multis?
What kind of canister filter are you running on that
Fluval 407 right now.
Where do guys get the rocks from ?
Mostly landscaping places.
Have you had fry surviving? I'm just curious because I've only ever heard fry will absolutely not survive in a community tank. Such pretty fish.
Nope - this tank will never produce fry. 😀
@@PrimeTimeAquatics thanks for the answer.
How many hours do you have in the aquascaping. Also is that a canister filter on that tank
I now have 45 minutes of aquascaping experience. Haha. Ran a Fluval 407 on that tank.
Beautifully done. I would have ruined it with lots of plants.
We really thought about it, but decided to hold off. 😀
My julidochromis regani are always hanging around my multies , even tho theres a huge rock pile on the other side
One large female juli controls that rock pile
That’s too funny!
The same lake my black calvus came from 😢😢😢 I still wish I had him.
Great fish!
@@PrimeTimeAquatics the 3 weeks I had him he was !!! Stupid heater !!!
Hey is it ok if i use your videos recording for my yt channel it is my first couple vids if you say no i will respect your wishes

How many pounds of rock is In there?
I’m not sure, but maybe 75-100lbs?
I don't know why but I am scared to add big rocks into my tank and break it.
So, this has NOTHING to do with your video other than you mentioned that you didn't want to do a true biotope.
