    Forgot to explain why no handtraps:
    1) Since the deck has anywhere from 6-8 draw cards and blinds second, you want to draw into playable cards. Handtraps you draw into after your opponent establishes a board usually don't help you breaking them and are often just dead draws
    2) This is a meta where you need two handtraps to have a chance to stop your opponent. There's really not enough room to fit the amount of handtraps you need to consistently open multiple. You also need multiple board breakers/kaijus to bait negates in order to actually resolve your board breakers too and if you have half handtraps and half board breakers you end up not having enough of either.
    3) Almost every deck runs cards to counter handtraps and those cards are basically dead or pretty bad against this deck. TTT/crossout don't do anything and Called by the Grave barely gets value since using it on a Danger is a big minus and it will rarely ever banish a Gizmek Orochi since you can always chain it to Called By.

    Yeah, finally... thx for the Decklist. :) Made a Kashtira Player cry today.... Even with full combo and no interruptions, when he builds his board.. He had no chance to keep it alive in my turn. :) Du you have any thoughts for a possible Side Deck? Maybe, when you are forced to get first?

      Floodgates and Mannequin cat targets (e.g. Thunder King for Spright, Chaos Hunter for Kash, Kristya for Branded. There are probably better targets that aren't complete bricks this is just off the top off my head since I haven't theory'd TCG in a while.). Something as simple as a number 38 or Photon Lord paired with an appropriate floodgate isn't too bad for a blind 2nd deck.

    This is the kind of deck I feel a bit embarrassed after doing my 5 minute @rrival & Avramax combo (I'm fast I swear), just because it's a simple deck that wants to win asap, and unlike Numeron is not just activate field or lose, but has room for other crazy techs like Mind control & tons of big removals
    Looks expensive, but it's just a matter of saving for those cards, slowly getting the mats for it (My Destiny board deck for example)
    Keep having fun man, Lava golem seems an interesting tech since is also a lvl 8, while being 2 x 1, but might diminish your plays if not getting Gizmek / Slumber

    Nice deck, always wanted to counter Spright. I am still playing with your 60 cards Branded Despia deck. Would you do any changes after the release of the Ishizu cards for Branded? What would ypu include? I am doing pretty good in the Duelist Cup by the way.

    • @TheShapestofSnatches
      @TheShapestofSnatches  Год назад

      Honestly I'm not sure about Ishizu cards in Despia since unlike other piles, the Branded engine is so large that it's really difficult to fit in the full milling package even in 60. Also being fusion locked kind of eliminates the easiest way to mill in those decks which is the punk engine for Chaos Ruler and Zombie Vampire. Maybe you can fit in the Ishizu package (not sure on the quantity) with Orange Lights. The problem there is you're likely not benefitting as much from the milling if you're playing against another pile deck and can't make dynamic link plays with extra Ishizu bodies.
      I have seen some people just put a couple shufflers to counter other piles rather than intending on using the engine for actually milling. There's also branded Shaddoll and branded Thunder Dragon variants but those engines take up even more space and you're really cutting down on the branded engine at that point.

      @@TheShapestofSnatches Thank you.
      Yeah , I am perfectly fine with pure Branded Despia and the deck is still very strong and fun. Ishizu cards might make the deck brick sometimes too.
      I have still played against full boards and there are many ways to counter any archetype. So I think I am sticking with just Branded Despia.
      Also the opponent usually does not have to wait long making it a non toxic deck too overall.
      I think Branded Despia has that perfect balance overall for a quality experience for both players.
      Now lets see what happens when Tears come out. Might he a reason for players to be very disappointed with the game and quit.

    What do you think about running lava golem?

    • @TheShapestofSnatches
      @TheShapestofSnatches  Год назад

      Would have to change the build a bit because Diva is important for this particular build which conflicts with Lava Golem. I know 8-axis players have had success with lava golem too instead of diva and played other techs like owner's seal so it's definitely a viable card.

    is this good in todays meta ?

    • @TheShapestofSnatches
      @TheShapestofSnatches  Год назад +1

      Need to make A LOT of changes. Lava golem and super poly might be the preferred board breakers now (and that would change both extra and main deck due to conflicting with diva normal summon now)

      @@marksalazar2647 at this point we're due for a new banlist and a new set within a couple weeks and if that set contains what I think it does, the meta will become much more favorable towards this deck.
