Fantastic content as usual Gareth. Thanks so much for helping shorten the dev/learning curve for us newbies! Quick question, do you know a solution using fillout/stripe for have services that have variable prices? For example I'm building a tool for an accounting/bookkeeping firm and they typically charge either per project or on a subscription basis, but the price varies based on project scope. I've yet to crack this nut. I want to pull pricing from the Airtable project table I've built, and send a stripe payment link to the customer using fillout. Any advice?

Yes! We did a video about calculating variables with Fillout. You can use this method to calculate the total due, based on other inputs from the form. Check it out!

Great video. You can process payments in preview mode without creating a transaction but the transaction data is created in the fillout table. This way you don’t have to go into Stripe and turn anything off. They just finished making some changes to this payment functionality. I have one form where I cannot get the actual total charged to come back into Airtable. It always sends the wrong number. But I have a half a dozen or more payment forms created in fillout that work perfectly. It’s the strangest damn thing. I’m using formulas to determine the amount to charge and it charges the right amount. It just doesn’t send the right payment amount back to Airtable. 😢

I’d love to have a way to push a dollar amount from Airtable to stripe and then have the customer pay it and update Airtable as paid. Any suggestions?

Totally - you can pass the dollar amount as a variable to Fillout so that the checkout screen includes that total. Then after the payment is made, a separate automation can trigger to update the record in Airtable. Maybe we need to add this use case to our video list!

@@GarethPronovost please do!! That would be amazingly helpful.
I’ve actually been meaning to reach out to you. We’ve been using a route optimization script that we were wondering if it would be valuable to customers. Adding a “Time block” parent project and several smaller tasks in that block with addresses. And then a click of a button to use googles API to determine the fastest route between each appointment and then rearrange the appointments to reflect the shortest drive time.
