Thanks for the video. We just tested our shredder… The exact one you have and I am not impressed with the way it shreds leaves. We have a lot of leaves and it does not reduce the way I'd like it to. Any suggestions?
We had this issue as well. We ended up breaking it and going with the Husqvarna brand instead. It does help to get the carb tuning tool on Amazon just search Amazon for “Stihl carburetor adjustment tool” and buy the set of 10 and one of them will fit. Then watch my carburetor tubing video to get more power from the shredder and any tool u have. It also helps to sharpen the blades.
@AdvancedLawn is there a vacuum that runs at least an hour? I would rather have gas but i don't like pulling the string. Takes along time for me to start it.
Sub ! I just bought a echo vac , I always wanted one lol I have shrub clippings to clean up so hope this thing rips lol and saves time from having to put a tarp around each bush to trim them lol time is money !
I own so many Stihl products, and I love them, but this shred vac of theirs is the biggest pos Stihl has ever made! An absolute afterthought. Horrible design, worthless. Really disappointed. I had an Echo, and I know these things have their limits, but this one in particular shouldn’t even be called a Stihl. I got it for just a couple clutch situations, and it’s an utter failure. Total waste of money!!

I use mine to suck up and shred the locusts that come out in spring. Wonderful tool.
😂

Thanks for your reply. I will look further into your suggestions.
Dope. Good video I’m out of Daytona beach I’m about to buy one.
I do excavation, skid and dumpster services. If ever in need! Good day!
Mad review.. my cheap victa got clogged with damp soil and the motor is fuxked.. is this thing more durable?
Wish I could say yes.
I was hoping for a demonstration on a big pile of leaves, do you have a video,/ of this, or any machine's, performance in that arena?
@@The-F.R.E.E.-J. there are a few. But this tool here isn’t a keeper. It dosent last.
@@AdvancedLawn is there one that does stand up, or last? And if so, are those thousands?
@@The-F.R.E.E.-J. Husqvarnas version was better
@@AdvancedLawn ok,
Thank you
how is this with wet debris?
Not bad but I would get the Husqvarna version for more power.
Thanks for the video. I'm looking at either this or the SH 86 CE. Have you used both and if so, how did they compare?
Get the Husqvarna one. Much stronger. This Stihl broke many times.
@@AdvancedLawn Thanks for the info

I’m thinking about the echo because of the way it connects the tubes. Looks like it will last a lot longer even though it’s not as powerful.
sounds a lot like an echo pb9010 !
Will you come to st.Augustine for a tree job ?
Yes
Cool its my buddy needs some work. I’ll tell him to look you up 😎
@@rycn7355 no problem man. Have him get ahold of me

Not very practical or even effective
How so?

I agree. This thing died because the piston ring blew apart and destroyed the cylinder. We now use the Husqvarna version. Much more powerful
@@AdvancedLawn right on. I’ll have to check out the Huscavarna.
@@AdvancedLawnthanks for the update. I’ll check out the husk
Is the stihl sh86 good I'm thinking of buying it
@@HUN-TER_BIDENnot Stihl’s finest creation. Apparently, the Husqvarna version is better 👆
