I just bought a 2005 s60r with bad radiator driver airbag hood front right headlight $850, I paid $280 for the headlight. I needed this video even though Ive done it before. Thanks for your help I bought a 2006 v70ra few years back just needed front bumper cover and tires for $2500 five years ago still running great
There might be an issue with the brakes, because my r brakes were even better than a pair of 8 piston wilwoods on my c5 Vette. They were on par with the cl65 brakes easily. Check fluid, lines, and ensure its dot 4.
@@BuiltForSpeed that's strange. My brakes are fantastic, but I'm using sti rotors and hawk pads. The only issue I ever had with my brakes are low speed squealing when cold
Yeah man, I'm doing the do88 then I'm putting an Elevate tune this summer. As far as your breaks, I have newer, Toyota and Hyundai, BMW and the S60R stops like a race car in comparison.
You could be my brother in arms. 🤣 I'm doing this, a radiator replacement, lower control arms, a CV axle, an oil change, a thermostat replacement, and finally a brake line replacement. How much of a difference did it make?
With respect to your brakes, it could be that a few of the pistons are seized or someone used white box pads and rotors when they did the last brake job. Pull it all apart and make sure the calipers are fully functional.
I plan on tuning soon but have a snabb fmic laying around would i be good to install it on stock tune?. Run it for maybe couple months. Not looking for power atm just lower iat in the summer. Tune is later on
Looking at this I’m thinking I almost want to mount the new inter cooler on the outside of the bumper so there’s space from the radiator. Fabricate a grill for it -mine is all beat up from bugs and pebbles.
@@BuiltForSpeed yes my v50 is stage 1 chipped to 260hp. Also when my car is fully warmed up it feels slower then when the engine is half cold. And i know its bad to floor it when its not warmed up yet but i had to test it
U don’t know what you’re talking about. Brakes on these cars are top notch. It’s an old car, if you just got it, chances are something’s wrong. Get new rotors and pads, steel hoses and race fluid and it will stop like nothing else.
We had 3 of these already. Compared to original p3 t6 brakes they are weak. We put brand new brakes on 2 of them and nothing changed. I didn't say they were bad brakes but in comparison even to volvo p3 oem in the s60 t6s they are much weaker.

Nice. Glad you found it helpful
This is on my list, looks like fun.. then its time for a Contrast tune.
Yeah intercooler is one of the first things to upgrade and downpipe in these cars.
awesome intercooler

I compared them to my s60 p3. They are worse and that same on all the s60Rs i drove.

@@drsuffcatr8319 i see , the rotors were oem style rotors and pads on the Rs i drove.
@@BuiltForSpeed that could be the issue. I use sti rotors because they were cheaper than oem and the hawk pads since I drive it fairly hard.

The intercooler made a noticable difference. But to see the full potential you would need a tune.
Great video
what happened to the super small condensor in the front of the stack
That was the second part of oem intercooler lol.

No that how the p2 brakes are the p3 are just better. We had 3 p3 Rs all are the same

Yea you can run it no problem
Check your brakes my dude! I have an R and I've never had issues with stopping quickly, efficiently and consistently
I said what i said in comparison to my p3 t6 brakes. The p2 R brakes are alot worse.
Yeah, exactly. My brakes are solid too. Grip is the only limitation

I have seen people mount it in front so im pretty sure theres company that makes one with pipes to mount it in front
After I bled my V70R brakes there was a night and day difference. I should have done it more regularly...
I bled them few times to make sure they work good. But not as good as the new p3 brakes.
@@BuiltForSpeed
There are 2 bleed screws on each caliper, did you bleed both?
@@johno9507 I'm aware that there is 2 one ok inside of caliper and one on outside. We had 3 p2 S60Rs the brakes on all 3 work the same
How much hp does the intercooler give extra ?
It depends if its with or without tune. But if i had to guess probably around 15-30hp

Well when you car is cold you have alot less hot air so yes you will have more power abit. Its normal
@@BuiltForSpeed so when i get the intercooler its like i have the same power as when its cold but then always
Man that alot of work just to install intercooler. The p3 one looked alot easier.
some swine designed the p2 engine bay
So, is this the Snabb cooler or the do88?? Title says do88, but he starts out saying its the Snabb....🤔
Do88 sorry i been buying too many do88 and snabb stuff i mixed it up..
