Very nice one! brings back some memories, we did our walk from Lucca to Roma in December & January 2022-2023. All the best to you guys, gonna leave a Sub here ;)
@@CruisinwiththeColemans no we only did this stretch. Did the Portuguese Camino before and after VF i figured I just prefer trails that are more wild rather then a pilgrimage. But i enjoy watching people having positive experience. And as well I really enjoyed the views and the towns, especially San Gimignano or Gambasi Terme
Thank you! We’ve been walking on and off with a 25 year old female pilgrim from Ireland. She said she’s felt very safe on the VF. Safer than she even felt on the Camino Frances. You got this!!!
We’re glad you have found it helpful! We’ve been listing our lodging in our blogs. Here’s the blog that lists where we stayed in Lucca: www.cruisinwiththecolemans.com/vf-day-31-33-a-pilgrimage-of-exceptions/
Great video! My wife and I are thinking of going from Lucca to Rome in November. Really hard to find info on whether accommodations/restaurants are open or not. What do you think?
Thank you so much! We hope you enjoy our entire walk to Rome. Gosh, to answer your question, we don't know anything about walking in November. We walk in the summer, as I am sure you can tell. I would suggest reserving ahead in November to make sure you have accommodations. We used Booking.com for a lot of our reservations. As for restaurants, I am not sure. Have you tried posting to the Via Francigena Facebook group?
Hello folks, I will be walking the VF from Lucca to Rome in September 2024. I see that you had some hot days in Italy. What was your strategy for dealing with the heat. You have a sun umbrella (as do I) and I am presuming lots of water. I have electrolyte tablets - is there an Aquarius equivalent on the VF?
We definitely had some hot days! The sun umbrella helped on the worst days. We carried extra water. We added this to our water when needed: amzn.to/3RRRUJY and we carried these: amzn.to/4azFmPI for when it was an immediate need. Unfortunately we didn’t find an Aquarius equivalent. Finally, when it was really bad we took a taxi and found accommodations with A/C. Hopefully, you won’t have it so bad in September. 🙏🏼 Buen Camino!
Thank you so much for the reply. I will be prepared and will find a winery (try a cold white) with A/C and then take a taxi... only in extreme heat. @@CruisinwiththeColemans 😉
Hi again it’s me the French Canadian asking what app are you using on your phone and do you have a booklet like the one on the French Camino? Gracie mille

Hello from sunny Florida. I like your video very much. What app are you using at the beginning of the video. I saw that it's an H. Gracias.
Hello Florida! Thanks for watching! We use iMovie. Are you thinking about walking the Via Francigena?

What editing app are you using?? Great job!!!!
Thanks! We use iMovie. Brian talks about the gear he carries in our gear video but he didn’t mention the editing app. Thanks for asking!

We are using the Slo Ways app and Sandy Brown’s guidebook.
What a great app. Thank you so much
