- Happy new year and thank you all for waiting so long!
Finally the 1st movement of my 1st piano concert is out!
MuseScore 4.2 has a lot of bugfixing - in this case the piece especially benefits from improving the playback of piano pedal.
And of course all you can hear directly comes out of MuseScore with the MuseSound playback engine!
Let me know if you like the composition don't be shy to give your honest opinion!
its a shame there arent easier ways for modern composers to get their share of the spotlight because this is just spectacular
Thanks a lot and yes it's not easy to get known. I hope I will find a publisher soon and maybe an orchestra which want to play may pieces.
I would love to hear a real orchestra play this.
That's where movie/videogame soundtracks come in!
I've been a composer for 24 years this month. It use to be much easier in the 2000s as there were competitions and call for scores all the time. We would send music out, get it back, and just keep on sending. The calls got way too specific in some cases and the last decade has been a real dry one.
I've also been a composer for 20 odd years and only have a handful of followers/subscribers. The problem is that I can write music but I'm just not good at knowing how our where to promote myself. I suspect most of us suffer from this too.
The way the piano is introduced is brilliant! Loved the whole thing
Many thanks for this compliment!
2:33 My fingers...
Amazing piece my friend!!
Thank you very much! And yes, the 3rds come directly from the hell! 😈
I love every composition you have put out and this one is no different, it is absolutely spectacular!
Many thanks to you for your compliment! All those praising words are really motivating!
@@michaellyndee I'm loving you music! Flawless transitions, beatiful harmonies, and a handful of orchestral and compositional resources. This particular piece really grew on me and i'd surely pay to see this performed live with a real orchestra and pianist. Bravo!!!
Thank you very much! This means a lot to me!
Bar 57 was such a joyful little glitter and the piano goes and goes and goes. This is quite a warm movement. Thank you for sharing this.
I'm glad that you could enjoy my work!
I love this! Didn't know musescore can sound that realistic!
Many thanks! I hope they add some more articulations and instruments to MuseSound cause it's really cool to get such a sound directly out of a notation software.
This is too beautiful to be unheard-of 😢
Thanks!
I absolutely love this, It’s a travesty you are not more popular. If you were born in the 1800’s, We’d be studying your music.
Thank you very much for your praising words! And it's nice to meet another Chopin fan ;-)
I know you have them split into their divisi parts, but I recommend using the "Trumpets" sound instead of the "Trumpet" sound in MS4. The section sound has a higher much higher quality and doesn't sound as nasally as the individual preset. I would recommend the same with the horns, using "Horns A6". If you are already using those and my ears are failing me, I apologize for the redundancy :) excellent composition!
Many thanks for your comment! I really think the trumpet sound is the worst of all in MuseSound. I never tried to use the unisono trumpets because it makes no sense to have nine trumpets, but after your recommendation I'll give it a try. Especially because the second movement starts with very soft trumpets. So many thanks for this advice!
I love this, very inspiring to me
Many thanks! I'm very glad to hear this!
Great piece -I'm reminded of Tchaikovsky and the great piano concertos.
Thanks a lot!
I loved it! It sounds very emotional. It reminded me Rachmaninoff. You're amazing!
The intro persuaded me into listening to the full movement. I am looking forward to the next movements.
Thank you for watching!
This is breathtaking. There were moments when I thought it sounded very Brahms-like, but your composition style is very unique. I wish you luck on your journey, and hope you are recognised for your talent!
Many thanks!
Hello! Really nice first movement! I enjoyed it a lot. Looking forward to hearing the other movements :)
Many thanks! I'm glad that you've enjoyed it!
Y’all like, comment and share this so this blows up and bring more attention to it!!!
That would be amazing! 🙏
simply incredible, no other way to put it. Behind the score shows mastery of composition which allows you to bloom with creativity in it! beautiful piece, perfectly fit for a piano concerto great job!
Many many thanks for your praising words! I'm really surprised by all those reactions!
@@michaellyndee from one composer to another you certainly deserve it!
The effort paid off! Amazing Work!
Thanks a lot!
This is a blur, mostly Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, phenomenal composers and this is something I am sure they would love to hear more of, as do we all! Keep up all the great work!!!
Many thanks for watching and commenting! Be sure that there will be more in future! 😉
Really fantastic piece! Quite an amalgamation of various different composers' styles but it works wonderfully together, bravo!
Many thanks! I'm glad that you like my composition!
I wasn't expecting such a quality that's amazing ! Good job !
Many thanks! I'm glad you like it!
This is so beautiful!
Thank you for the journey.
Thank you too!
I've been waiting for you to put something new out and it was worth the wait!
Thank you very much for waiting! I was working on a project for a competition that I wasn't allowed to publish yet. So it took time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You are absolutely amazing, you inspired me to start publishing my compositions on RUclips, like my first symphony, and you always just drop bangers, I love it!
Thank you very much! I'm glad that you like my works I can inspire you!
This is absolutely spectacular!!! The orchestration, the dynamics the overall structure and the themes… Absolutely stunning! This is the best original composition in RUclips that I have heard
Many thanks for this compliment!
I watched this video before it had gotten 1k views, but I wanted to put a comment here to say that this is absomutely phenomenal. I aspire to write like you!
Many thanks for watching and commenting!
there's a strong rachmaninoff flavour to this, to both the piano and orchestral parts. i like it!
This is very beautiful... I love the movement. I'm in awe
Thank you very much!
I wish more people would write in this sort of traditional style and take it as seriously as you are. I wasn't expecting to like this very much but I actually did like it a lot.❤
I'm very glad that I could surprise you in a positive way!
OMG, you have such a gift. I love the piano starting at M.33
Thank you very much!
Magnificent. I would love, love to hear this live one day.
Me too! ;-)
Woah... This is absolutely incredible!!! Very Rachmaninoff at times, which I love! Beautiful piano writing, and it just works SO well with the orchestra part! INCREDIBLE job! I am extremely eager to hear the following movements! Best of luck, and Happy New Year!
P.S. I really cant stress how good this is... you made some dang good music here my friend!!!
Many, many thanks for your praising words! I hope I won't disappoint you with the next movements.,.
@@michaellyndee it’s well deserved! I’m certain the following movements will be great as well! Looking forward to it!
i also noticed he soounded very rachmaninoff-like in certain parts, and rachmaninoff was a genius (and tied with chopin for my favorite composer), so thats definitely a good thing
Lovely!
This is outstanding! And happy new year to you too!
Many thanks!
beautiful. never would have guessed it was not made by a famous composer. you're amazing keep up man!!!
Thanks for your compliment! I'm glad that you like the piece so much!
Exceptionally done with a restraint. My favourite moment us around 2:39. I can hear some Bach, some Mendelssohn. Of course, with the originality of the Composer.
Thanks! I'm glad that you like it!
Hats off everyone!!
am crying rn as a composer am baffled i really love it also i can hear you are inspired by the greats cuz i can hear sometimes some rach and tschai but wauw that last climax just wauw
Thank you very much! I'm glad to hear that you like it so much!
This is just amazing! Congratulations on completing this movement!
Thanks!
as an oboe and English hornist, I love this English horn solo with the bassoon right at the beginning! It was a fire way to start the concerto 👏
Many thanks! I also love the sound of the English horn as you can hear in my symphony.
I think this has to be your most beautiful piece yet!
Wow! Thanks a lot!
omg this is actually amazing
i am currently composing a piano concerto 3rd mvt but this is amazing!!!!!!!!
well done to you and i wish you a happy new year with much new composing to come. very looking forward to 2nd mvt!!!
edit: roundabouts 5:20 is my fav part!!
just a bit of a note: at just about 3:48, give the winds some rest with the repeating 8th notes because i don't think they will have enough breath to hold for so long
Thanks a lot! I think short breaths between the staccato notes could be enough to do this part. But maybe I'm wrong...
@@michaellyndee you're welcome dude! I'm not a wind player, so i dunno 🤷♂
OK wow. I am a classical musician (pianist) and I am obsessed with classical music, and it's 99% of what I listen to. I am speechless after listening to this. Just wow. If I was told one of the great composers wrote this I would have totally believed it, it's seriously just too good!!!
Thank you very much! Honestly I'm speechless too due to all these praising comments!
That’s amazing, I can’t wait for the next movements ! Bravo 🎊
Thanks!
This is spectacular !!!
Thanks! I'm glad that you like it!
Fantastic music, can't wait for the other movements
Thank you very much! Just be patient!
wow thats amazing
Many thanks! I'm glad you like it!
@@michaellyndee thank you, do you do lessons or tutorials on orchestration becuase it realy blows me away how you use the orchestra?
amazing!
Brilliant, very well done!
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Oh my god… the introductions and the dynamics are so beautiful just as the romantic era.
Thanks! I'm glad you like it!
New subscriber here! This is a hidden gem indeed!
Many thanks! I'm glad you like my work!
This is really great. Congrats!
Many thanks!
Amazing!
Thanks!
This is a wonderful piece, can't wait to hear the subsequent movements. It uses a clearly 19th century language, quite reminiscent of Rachmaninov in places but I for 1 love the continuance of these genres. There is still lots of room to add new music of this style, especially when it is so well done.
Thank you very much for watching and commenting! I'm totally with you!
this shows a lot of promise! keep writing!
Many thanks! I do!
This is gorgeous!!!!
Many thanks! I'm glad you like it so much!
Awesome!
Thanks!
This is a very good piece.
Thanks a lot!
this is so good
Many thanks!
Very professionally done
Many thanks!
I expect a lot from you!
Thanks! Me too, but there is no time right now.
Amazing
Thanks!
this is amazing!
Thanks a lot!
totally stunning, Rachmaninoff's 5th! The thematic material is so brilliantly developed and the orchestration is just fantastic. I like especially the shimmering effect and harmonies at 2:31. A very refreshing piece, I just know the second movement is going to be transcendently beautiful! subscribed
Thank you very much for watching and subscribing! The second movement is in progress but please be patient!
Fantastische komposition❤. Danke für die harte Arbeit
Danke für das Lob!
Some weeks ago I heard your other work and I'm really impressed with this. I wanted to compose like you do, but I don't know how to express it, lack of music study hahaha
I'm very glad that you like my works!
Phenomenal!
Thank you ver much! I'm glad you like it!
This is absolutely amazing and if I am being honest I would love to learn this piece ❤🎼🎹
Thank you very much! I'm glad you like it! Are you a professional?
@@michaellyndee I am still a student so I wouldn’t call myself a professional but I am an advanced pianist.
Wow! Do you think the double 3rds are too hard?
I think it depends on the player. For some they are very hard and for some they are easier. For me honestly they are pretty hard to learn and spend a long time finding the right fingerings.
I can imagine that there is a lot of work with pencil first...
2:01 so beautiful
Thank you very much! Nice to hear that you like this part so much!
I really need to write my own piano concerto.
You are inspiring more amateur composers out there to put effort into leaving beautiful music pieces for the mankind. Thank you!
Yes and this feels incredible!
FUCKING AWESOME
Many thanks!
My kudos. The best of Tchaikovsky feelings in our own time.
Thanks!
Also erstmal Gesundes, frohes neues Jahr.
Quite impressive! And I heard some Rachmaninoff here and there
Thanks and yes, Rachmaninov is probably the one I'm mostly influenced by.
Very good! Is that musescore?
Thank you for liking and yes, all you see and hear is directly from Musescore.
I like it
Nice to hear!
searched up my first piano concerto on yt because im planning on trying to write my first... this is INSANE props to you man i mean this is incredible... how long did it take you to complete the first movement? and the way the piano first begins oh my.. i might have to use that idea hahahaa
Thank you very much! The first movement took about two month I think.
Holy crap midi has gotten really good
Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@michaellyndee Yes I loved the piece!!
Langer Rede kurzer Sinn: MUT ZUR TIEFE!
Composer myself - really love this. You must love Rachmaninov
Yes I do! ;-)
This so good and Reminds me a lot of Rachmaninoff's piano concertos
Thanks a lot! I think Rachmaninoff is the "teacher" I'm most influenced by.
Bro this is simplyamazing ❤
As a pianist though, there’s a couple of measures that would give me headaches to properly play :p
Thank you very much! I can imagine which measures you're talking about. As a hobby pianist I can estimate what is more difficult and what's less. But honestly sometime I don't know HOW difficult it is. Especially with the running thirds in both hands the community has different opinions of playability...
@@michaellyndee my mind went to the running 3rds as well lol. in one hand its not bad but both hands will be quite a challenge to keep clear
What? A 21st century composition that's actually enjoyable? Real melodies and harmonies? How quaint! You shall be condemned to keep company with Roman Kim and Alma Deutscher. For shame! I am really enjoying this. I think you're taking some cues from Rachmaninov, though not quite as emotionally intense.
That crescendo at about 4:30 is GREAT! Wishin you great success as a composer. To hell with ugly music!
I'm glad that you like my piece. I also don't like the modern stuff. Dissonances can be a very effective tool, when they are used in moderation. But all the time its just noise in my ears.
Fantastic.I m sure that Rachmaninov is listenning to you.
His comment world be very interesting!
Impressive work, I feel influences from Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky. 🎶
Thanks a lot!
This is great! Just a weird suggestion, amd maybe it's terrible: for an opening movement, the piece seems to start fairly weak, especially given the gravitas of the later music. Maybe a "heavier", more attention-getting introduction may make the piece more exciting?
But this is great. Really. Thanks for sharing!
I know what you mean and I like loud and impressive introductions. But there are many really good and "heavy" pieces which starts very soft. Dvorak 9th is just one famous example...
As a pianist I cannot emphasize enough how hellish 2:33 through 3:00 is
That's like thirty whole seconds of pure double thirds in both hands, which is just...oh goodness
I know it's very challenging
@@michaellyndee it’s not possible. I’d take the left hand out and significantly lighten up on the RH thirds.
Yes as a conservatory piano student I agree that it is impossible at that speed in both hands. Just the right hand thirds is maybe more doable maybe the left hand could just double one of the notes of the thirds. Sounds great overall though.
This sounds as magical as a work by Rachmaninoff
Thank you very much!
AMAZING!!!! CONCERTOOOOO I'm currently using musescore and I was wondering how do you get the orchestra to sound so realistic with substance? Amazing work!!
Thank you very much! It took a while to find the right volume ballances, paneling and reverb settings. And even than at several parts I have to use hidden dynamics and tempo marks to get a more realistic sound...
Woah, how did you do that rubato at 1:10?
Also, this one is really legit. Apart from the slightly unnatural instrument tones, I wouldn't be surprised if this was played on Classic FM.
Thank you for your comment! Just add a lot of hidden tempo marks ;-)
Another amazing work by you man... kinda lost for words🙏💯
But if I may ask, how did you do it, or when can I find a button for it in musescore, that it cuts out parts of instruments that aren't playing, so I have clearer vision and not too many blank bars...
Thank you very much and I wish you a happy New Year too!
Thanks! Just go to Format->Style and check on "Hide empty staves"
Such a beautiful movement! Keep writing 😊. Also if you don’t mind, where did you write this in , I too want to compose a cello concerto so.
Many thanks! I wrote this in Musescore. All what you can see and hear in this video comes directly from Musescore using MuseSounds as playback engine.
Frohes Neues erstmal,
I've been surprised by the quality of the composition, I really like the orchestration and the piano writing is coherent with the rest (even if it can still be improved for somes bars). Congratulations. I feel like it's very influenced by Tchaikovsky but I could be wrong.
Is it you first attempt to a piano concerto ?
Thank you very much for this compliment! Could you please explain where you see improvements and how? This would be useful for the next movements.
I've composed for solo piano and for orchestra before, but never a piano concert. My whole composing style is influenced by several composers of the romantic epoch, especially Rachmaninoff and Dvorak. I try to find my own style within this emotional harmonic sound.
It's just that i find that sometimes the piano textures are a little saturated, but it's probably partly due to musescore's sounds.
But honestly it's still impressive, I plan to compose a piano concerto this year and it gave me a few orchestration's idea, thanks.
And I see the Dvorak's influence, especially with the thirds, it reminds me of his piano concerto.
This is amazing! Is there anyway you could post a PDF of this? I would love to listen to it on my morning commute.
Thank you for watching. I'm sorry that I have to say that but I won't publish a pdf due to copy right things. I hope you can understand this!
@@michaellyndee My gosh, I meant MP3 or WAV file. I was so enthralled with the music that I was over here asking for the wrong thing 😂
I see. But I will not share directly a mp3. It would be great if there was an orchestra and pianist making a recording of this.
helll yeeaahh
Nice to hear that you like it!
New sub :D
Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Cool! You are a devil for writing those thirds :D
Ha! You're not the first one you mentioned that and I those 3rds are really really hard.
This is music
