Having the toilet paper packs was actually a good representation of how big it is. Before seeing the TP I was like "not that big" then I saw the TP and I was "daaaaang huge"
@@bhaz I actually went with a eagle creek migrate 90l in the bright orange color. Vacation is in 2 weeks so ill be trying that duffle out and our new thule motion xt xl.
Yeah, trust me. Its huge! I’ve had mine (blue) for 3 yrs. and I am amazed at how much stuff I can cram into it. The one thing I do not like is the carry straps. Don’t let his “bloop” fool you. The strap with the metal retainer on the end does NOT go in or come out easily, so if you think when you get to the baggage drop you can just very quickly remove them and stuff them in the bag you’re wrong. Also mine does not have the quick disconnect clip on one end of the carry straps. It has those metal retainers on both ends of each strap. I personally never use them. I just use the regular integral carry handle and sling it over one shoulder which works great.
Been wanting this and I will be getting the 40L this year. Thank you for this video, its been helpful. Will share a pic of the duffel this winter (your Summer as I am in South Africa📍)
That's great! Thanks so much for letting me know. We just used this orange one on a trip and packed the whole family of four (except diapers/wipes/crib, snacks, etc.) and was again impressed by it! Thanks for commenting!
What size do you have? Seriously love the flex in this thing. Still my go-to for anytime I travel with more than just myself! Of course the different size options provide alot of options. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for checking in. I looked in the bag and didn't see a shoulder strap BUT that could be the size is 90L and that wouldn't be a very comfortable carry. Maybe the smaller versions still have it?
@@bhaz excuses excuses. now i know you're really an ACTOR paid by Thule! ;) jk man. thanks for the awesome vid. great edits and final product. taking notes over here.
Hahahahaha...it's so huge! Honestly, thought it was TOO big but after using it on a few trips, it's amazing. Got all my family of four's clothes in this which meant hauling only 1 bag out of the car and into various hotels was sooo much easier than a bunch of rollers. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks for commenting and hopefully, I'm not toooooo late. It actually holds up really well b/c the material can clean easily. The base does show dirty easier b/c it's more of a weave than the other smooth material but that's also patina, right?!
Thanks alot! I have NOT tried the base camp so I can't speak to the comparison BUT this bag has been allll over the place for me and my family. Hopefully, it works well for you too!
Hey! Great question and I have both so this is easy. The biggest diff is that the Thule offers zippered pouches. I'm literally packing for a trip this week and already appreciating the extra help with storage. Also it's more weather proof, BUT that means it's heavier b/c the materials are beefier. Does that help?
Do I have a problem if I like having a duffel bag in a variety of weights, colors and just because they look cool?I have this same problem with packing cubes and backpacks.
What?! That's great. I truly love mine--after a year, it's become our go-to bag for roadtrips with the family or camping with the fellas. Enjoy the bags!!
@@bhaz that's what we are going to do on next saturday. I just bought a Thule Force XP XL roof box for the family holiday at the netherlands. We also have a Thule 929 G6 bike carrier. Luckily my car can load 750kg.
@@bhaz Yea I think you sold me!! I might want to bring it it on a motorcycle trip. Have you tested its water-resistant capabilities? Also does it have compression-straps on the inside?
Sounds like fun! Haven’t tested the waterproof other than walking in the rain to the car. And it does have external compression straps but not on the inside. And you can store the backpack straps too if that helps.
@@bhaz already got mine now, ready for adventures!! It's really awesome and was a positive surprise to find out about the compression straps. Cheers brother
Oh thanks!! My hope is to help people make a better buying decision so hopefully, that happened. I'm doing some review on their IG soon too so that might help with other bags! Did you get one?
@@bhaz not yet... only because I've been focused on other things. It's either this one or the Patagonia Black Hole Duffel... whichever is in someone's inventory. The bags sell fast.
Interested buyers : These bags sold at a premium price point is cheaply finished as there is no lining inside and looks untidy inside as all the joints and stitches are exposed. Please think through before buying as these details are not shown in the website.

Hi! What do you think about the 70l? Would you choose again the 90l or you think that it's way too big to carry around? Thank you!
Wasn’t sure if this bag would be big enough for my trip. Definitely gonna be getting this one after a lot of thought

I got this one to replace my suitcase. Fly across the country with it a couple times and survived a beating or two. Quality material.

@@bhaz I have the 90L one in green. Have had a few people ask me where I got it from, saying how nice it is
Hahaha. Amazing. Even though it says Thule across the bag in giant letters! I love the green.
Did Thule remove the "shoulder strap" from this model? It was featured on the previous model.

Great review. Needed to see this to pull the trigger and buy a couple. Sold.
Right on! Yeahhhh. I feel like with bags you really have to see them on video and then you can figure it out. What colors did you get?
nice video thx
is this ok for carry on ?

Liked the video just for you getting inside the bag lol. Reminds me of solid snake hiding in a box :)
Hahahahah...I should get in the next bag I review!! Thanks for the like!
Would love a video of how to get it back in the storage bag. No idea how to pack mine back into the small bag!!

Hahahaha. You are in good company! I love them. It’s a fairly inexpensive vice but something I have to be careful about!! Thanks for stopping by!
would this be a good bag for the beach? how would you clean the sand off? thx!
Awesome review… what size were each of your bags? You sold me on em
Hey thanks so much. So this is the 90L but there are other options too! I think 40, 70 and also 130! Good color choices too and still love mine!!
Great video. I didn’t need a duffel but I want one now!
Hahahaha. Well, it’s a solid choice! I’m a sucker for a duffel! Always looking forward anew bag!

Can I take it on the plane ✈️ ? As backpack regardless of the weight?
That’s up the carrier. Sometimes they won’t allow bc the size but maybe if it’s only half full?
Good review man!!
