Absolute best advise is Before you get to far alone go to the hardware store and pick up some boiled lineseed oil and roll that crap on everything wood. It’ll make that deck last 10x longer and looks good. Then rub it on any of those areas of bare metal like the king pin lock handle. Cheapest rust inhibitor on tue market and doesn’t wash off.
Pj and big tex are owned by the same company. Like GM with Chevy vs GMC trucks. One just has a little more standard equipment like the torque tube. A little late but Happy Birthday.
Happy Birthday to Ryan! And by the way you made the pups super happy taking them for a ride. My dogs love a ride in the bed of my truck anytime and to anywhere.
Great looking trailer! Love your truck too. GM hasn't used that blue in years. I have a 2004 Chevy Z71 i bought new that is Arrival Blue. I think it is the same color.
Good evening. Southern Yellow Pine is standard. Oak is usually a upcharge. I put 4 1/2 gallons of Thompson Water Seal on my 40 ft deck. The Oak just pulled it in. 9yrs and counting.
My friends have PJ trailers in central New York and they rusted fast. I have two Lamar trailers and they have been beaten up every summer for the past three years. Never let me down yet. I try to park my trailers in the winter months in New York. Big Tex is well built trailer. Hopefully it will work for you.
Big Tex and Diamond C are both good trailers I live within 30 miles where they are built. I have a Big Tex trailer for 24 years one new floor replaced breaks tires nothing else. Haul 5x6 round bales JD 7510 with 741 loader a 7800 JD with 740 loader no problem.
You are so right checking the welding I have seen some really trashy ones on the same brands my best friend was in the hotshot business and he had to have new axels and and u bolts it was made by mistake with course thread u bolts the manufacturer made it right and gave him new tires and wheels so all was good in the end be careful when buying tires he had a spare he bought on the road that was three inches taller than the rest
Congratulations on the new trailer. I learned what to look out for when buying a fifth-wheel trailer. I am hoping to buy one this year. I will use your information.
Fluid film as an undercoat works really well and you could do it yourself. They make a do it yourself kit and you buy it by the drum. Just spray the underside every year or so. Using a bed liner as an undercoating sometimes traps water under the coating leading to premature corrosion/rust and it makes repairing the trailer that much harder. Imagine trying to scrape off Rhino lining type product to repair a cross member or fix a wiring issue. Fluid film just washes off and can be reapplied. Happy Birthday and Happy Easter!
I have a Big Tex trailer model 70PI - 18', year 2019. Overall the trailer has been very good to me, the downside is the paint. It has peeled off in so many places that It will be getting a annual undercoating treatment called NH Oil. The area I live in does not help since New England uses pre-treatment on roads before snow storms and a lot of salt during snow storms, but to lose this much paint, not impressed with the paint job by Big Tex. Just my personal experience.
We have a 5th wheel neck for our goosenecks. Really slick to be able to pull trailers with the semi or pickups. Only takes a few minutes to change the necks back and forth.
creosote and 10w 40 oil mixed the creosote stops the rot the oil stops the water soaking the wood it works fantastic we do all our outside wood with it
Pj trailers brother of guy who brought us Load Trail, definitely good stuff. The powder on Load Trail and PJs is over rated, my Load Trail Dump is rusty as heck, PJ and Load Trail go the extra mile fo sho Use Swedish wood oil yellow bucket on pine deck, 2 applications every 6 months it will last forever, if you want to replace the replace with CCA lumber and hand pick your boards, flatter the grain the better, when you pick it up it’s much heavier
Pj and big tex are made at the same manufacturer from what i know. Diamond c is the way to go for trailers. I have some buddies that have a big tex and the frame cracked after a year of hotshotting
Hey Ryan I have a big tex 2018 gooseneck, Its been a great trailer. If you able to store it inside I would recommend it. Only thing I noticed is the paint on the ramps is aging a bit especially if you drive in salt its easy to collect the slants when ramps are folded up, have to make sure you wash it out well.
Happy Birthday Ryan!!!! First trailer i ever bought was a 5x8 big tex for my atv. Had it for 4 years with zero issues and when I put it up for sale it lasted 20 minutes before I had it sold. I upgraded to a doo little 84x12 for my sxs and have no complaints about it either. I love the fact that the ramp can fold 180° on it.
Hi Ryan, I have the same Big Tex trailer, tandem dually in the 25' version. I've had it for 2 years now. I bought it for the same reason, skid steers keep getting heavier! Its been great so far. I love the mega ramps and the counter weight/spring on them. I'm in the process of adding a cross member to the gooseneck for a receiver/winch setup. Good times.
Luckily, my local john deere dealer is also our local diamond c dealer.....they just so darn proud of both of them!!!$$$$!!! Lol.......Luv ya's from Kentucky!!!
Happy birthday! Nice trailer, makes me jealous. I’ve been teasing myself for a while now to upgrade to a heavier weight rating and gooseneck versus the 10k bumper pull we have now.
Nice trailer! I agree on the wood as it could be much better quality. It's hard to keep wood on a trailer for long unless you go with some rough sawn oak or locust. Hemlock also has good rot resistance, but not as strong as the aforementioned woods. I don't think the bedliner is a good choice for underneath. I have seen rot get under that stuff and really go to town as it will hold moisture if it comes loose anywhere at all. Fluid Film works really well, and you just refresh it every couple years or as needed. Not all that expensive and you can do that yourself easily. Kind of messy, but preservation is the name of the game with steel and if you do it now, you will be way ahead of the rust.
Hey Ryan and Miss Hannah, Happy Birthday to you Ryan! Thanks for the trailer information I would go with the Big Tex also. Take Care, Take it Easy and TRUST JESUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Birthday, I suggest doing a wheel alignment check on the trailer. Friends have purchased both a hitch and gooseneck utility trailer and found the wheel alignment was horendously bad coming from the factory.
Seems like a decent trailer. You could always fluid film the underneath. I think I would prefer that over the under coating. If you’ve ever watched farming, fixing and fabricating, he does that all his trucks and equipment.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes! Happy Easter!
Happy birthday, Happy Easter to Ryan, Hannah, Rocket and 3 three other supervisors!
Invest into a shocker hitch! You will not regret it! Happy Easter
It was really cool that you guys took the kids with you to get the trailer!!! they looked very excited to go!!!!!
Nice new trailer. I think we need an update video on all the bosses riding in the back of the truck.

Just don’t forget to reinflate the tracks when you get it to the field 😂😂😂
Happy Birthday,Ryan!! Same day as a niece and a grand niece.
A drop deck or step deck with ramps is my preferred trailer. I own a 53ft and it has been the best investment I’ve made to haul equipment and hay.
Happy birthday and new trailer
happy birthday ryan what a nice gift lol that will be a big help around the farm thumbs up and shared
Congrats Ryan, Hannah and Rocket on getting to 300K subs. Hope you all had a fantastic Easter.
That dealer is a good guy, I’ve bought many things from him. glad to see you found him, I’ve got howie on speed dial!
You have plenty of drain oil you can use on the deck. That will be just as good as anything you buy.
you will not regret this trailer choice. Just make sure you keep on the rust this thing will last you for a long time.
Pj and big tex are owned by the same company. Like GM with Chevy vs GMC trucks. One just has a little more standard equipment like the torque tube. A little late but Happy Birthday.
nice look at the trailers. Good choice.
Happy Birthday & Congrats on 300k subs
Thanks!
Happy Birthday to you Ryan .and good wife to help you and 4 Dogs .
Weld a ball on the freight liner and put a plug for the lights and you can use that for heavier loads
Happy Birthday to Ryan! And by the way you made the pups super happy taking them for a ride. My dogs love a ride in the bed of my truck anytime and to anywhere.

Hey Ryan happy birthday, I think the new trailer needs a new JCB as well to pull around
Really cool trailer, PJ and Big Tex are nice. I personally like Diamond C trailer, especially cuz of the one-piece fleet neck.
Happy Birthday Ryan. You’ve got me looking a little harder at a diamond C now 😅. Maybe they’re all welded up underneath?
Great stuff Hannah, Ryan and the puppies, very nice trailer, well wear, Happy Birthday, and hopeYe had a lovely Easter💯👍🙏🐇🐣🎂🙂
Congratulations on your new trailer
The max ramp style rear end is one of the best things these trailer mfg have come out with. Especially for the farm.

Happy birthday Ryan! hi Hannah. Enjoyed the video very much. I can’t really believe the quality of wood they are using on the decks!

happy birthday and happy Easter ryan and to everyone on the farm!
Happy Belated Birthday Ryan! Also, good to see Hannah! Keep them coming. Take care.
Happy Easter Ryan and Hanna. Happy Birthday Ryan. From Australia.

I[ keep a racket strap on the rear ramps to stop the noise from them rattling down the road.
Luckily, my local john deere dealer is also our local diamond c dealer.....they just so darn proud of both of them!!!$$$$!!! Lol.......Luv ya's from Kentucky!!!
Good luck with your new trailer, very nice!! Happy Easter to you and your wife
THE DREAM!!
Happy birthday! Nice trailer, makes me jealous. I’ve been teasing myself for a while now to upgrade to a heavier weight rating and gooseneck versus the 10k bumper pull we have now.
Mix your old motor oil with some thinner and pour it on the deck and mop it around evenly. Do it once a year and the wood will last a long time.
Good old redneck stain. I have seen a lot of people use that cheap trick over the years.
I use a 50/50 mix of old motor oil and diesel fuel on my utility trailers
4 beautiful dogs. Happy birthday
Gooseneck looks way better engineered on the pj. 👌 manufactured over channel and plate.
Happy Birthday Ryan!!! Here's to many more
Happy birthday Ryan and happy easter to you and hannah and I hope you like you new Gooseneck trailer too ❤👍
Happy birthday young man well needed 🎉
Happy Birthday Ryan and Happy Easter to you and Hannah and your families from mine
I have a trailer not that big but with a wood floor an use the motor oil on the deck . The trailer is 13 years old now so in my opinion it works .
Leveling it out will help the bounce. Look at getting a shock absorber hitch for it. Will pull like a dream.
Hey Ryan congratulations on the purchase of the trailer happy Easter to you and Hannah and happy birthday.

Happy birthday congrats on the trailer watch your bed rails on your truck when going in ditches and watch for the tail dragging on the ground
Happy birthday Ryan! Rocket might give you a Ruff idea on the trailer 😂 congratulations on your purchase!
Hey Ryan and Miss Hannah, Happy Birthday to you Ryan! Thanks for the trailer information I would go with the Big Tex also. Take Care, Take it Easy and TRUST JESUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy. Birthday
Happy Birthday, I suggest doing a wheel alignment check on the trailer. Friends have purchased both a hitch and gooseneck utility trailer and found the wheel alignment was horendously bad coming from the factory.
Great suggestion!
Happy Bday!!
Happy birthday
Seems like a decent trailer. You could always fluid film the underneath. I think I would prefer that over the under coating. If you’ve ever watched farming, fixing and fabricating, he does that all his trucks and equipment.
Just a thought, powder paint will be harder to fix if it get damaged. Regular paint is easier to fix.
Food for though, you can get an adapter to hook it up to big red. Also congrats! I've thought that my 22k trailer hauls heavy even without a load on.
Happy Birthday and Easter Ryan and Hannah
