Watching them adapt to eachother is very cool. I think it's interesting because the characters are very similar. High damage whiff punish characters with good big buttons.. Watching the two of them navigate neutral is a treat
Hard disagree. 1 the Marissa and Ryu damage differential isn't actually that big. Their the highest damaging characters in the game on whiff punish. 2 their characters have different tools. Both players have to play neutral and Marissa's larger reach is compensated by the fact that she is significantly slower than Ryu. The neutral game she has to play is more difficult as she doesn't have as many options to control the screen. Ending only lost because big bird had better footsies
@@Sarkhamyyeah, EndingWalker, as he sometimes does, took way too many risks here. His play here honestly seems like he was late for an appointment lol. And a lot of inefficient meter usage on drive cancels. Ryu has the upper hand in this matchup imo, it’s very easy to keep Marisa out and build Denjin for free, but Ending kept going in to try and catch her pushing buttons. Once big bird slowed down and started checking like every drive rush the set really turned in his favor, he just missed a few crucial moments to try and catch Endings shimmies.
@@Zades145 I think it should be very hard for you to build denjin against a good Marissa, but I do agree that ending's more aggressive style left up some openings for big bird to use

In what world does Marisa have longer reach than Ryu?
