Good job, boys. You picked a great spot for your first camp. I enjoyed a good night pitched here earlier in the year. It's one big learning curve, the more you do it, the easier and more enjoyable it becomes. Keep up the good work! P S. this is The Black Mountain (range), sometimes confused with The Black Mountains in the Eastern Beacons.
Hi Ryan, this is a pretty cool comment as I subscribed to your channel from one of of your first videos and taken a lot of inspiration from them! Great to see your journey is going so well. Thank you for the advice I really appreciate it! If you and the dog are able to teach me a few things one day, that would be superb👍🏻. Thank you again.
@@Roam.Outdoors thank you, mate, that's nice to hear. Of course, I'm always happy to help if I can. I've subscribed and look forward to following your journey. Cheers!
Great video- love the location and the food looked great! I started wild camping myself early this year and have enjoyed quite a few adventures already- on my channel I made a video about this and what I learnt from my first wild camp (I went camping with a guy who has been doing it for decades!)- quite a steep learning curve! I found a few tips for you; Cook on a stove rather than a fire- some people can be a bit funny about fires, even if there is no trace left. I recommend good head torches too as well as good walking shoes. If you are going to camp in winter make sure you have a good sleeping mat with a high R value, and a good sleeping bag and down jacket. Subscribed to see more of your adventures!
Thank you very much! That’s awesome advice and we’ll definitely take note of that! I was really wondering about what kind of kit maybe needed for a winter camp as I don’t want the cold to effect my enjoyment on camps so I really appreciate the sleeping mat advice as well! Thank you, I’ve just checked out your channel and it looks great! I’ve subscribed too, looking forward to seeing your next video.
@@Roam.Outdoors Thank you! Next video in a week, hopefully wild camp high up on Dartmoor. You'll see me making mistakes but all part of the learning curve! Looking forward to your next
Thank you! Really appreciate that comment! Honestly, couldn’t of picked a better camping spot, hopefully better organisation next time and we can enjoy it more 😂
I know exactly where you are there some nice waterfalls and pools to swim in lower down in the summer

Herberts Quarry? Bivvied up around there a while ago.
Yes spot on! Absolutely stunning there. What’s it like to bivvy? I’m hoping to do that some time in the future, looks awesome.
