Oh yeah,,,i've been a lead guitarist because of Charlie and Stuart Adamson ,,Char!or is so varied in styles ,, from the solo in Chelsea girls to the classic power chords in don't you forget about me,,everything is for the song !!
@YCSMusic True Steve! This interview will have taken place a few months after "New Gold Dream" album release. The performance of "New Gold Dream" on this show was superb! Cheers!
They were young they were brave honest set... The greatest show in earth is here tonight love... Artists are obviously more interesting on stage, that's a certainty they slave away to express themselves... Jim and Charlie has fabulous blue eyes...
it was shite compared to new gold dream, sons & fascination, sparkle in the rain in terms of musical development but commercially it did them no harm new gold dream is still the groundbreaker though
Charlie is one of the worldsd best guitarists...massively underrated

Great, great, great band. Changed my life for the better.
Charlie Burchill was so cute here. Love those accents
He was very quietly spoken and polite in those early interviews, which was so at odds with the vast musical landscapes the band created.
Isnt he still the same?
It's a nice video !It also brings back beautiful memories , concerts !
My fav band from sunderland to Glasgow 40 years still going strong

Simple Minds did lose their spark after 1984. Good question from Muriel.
Its Paula Yates that died. This is Muriel Gray.
JIM AND THE WHISKY WITH HIS KILT!!! ALL THE SCOTISHES LOVE THAT THINGS!!
Muriel Grey is very much alive.
@dirkbogarde44 Hey! Your right! Jim Kerr became much more confident after 1982 (in my opinon). Thanks!
