Couple of handy pointers for future viewers.
First, hello from the past. 🤪
Second, at 35-45 seconds in, he talks about removing the long round upper radiator clips, with the 3 tabs that have to be pushed in at once. Tip: just reach UNDER the plate where it mounts, and you'll feel the cylinder, which you can easily push up while depressing the 3 tabs. 👍
Next, i think around 4:40, he's talking about removing the a/c condenser from the front of the radiator, so the radiator can drop out. Forget trying to figure out how to release four next-to-impossible clips at once. They are attached to the radiator, and the radiator is trash already, so just break off the four black clips. Done!

TIPS learned the hard way on 04 Mazda3 2.3L:
    1) Don't be afraid to push FIRMLY (on the top edge) on the Condenser (when combined to the Radiator) toward the engine which tilts the unit (babying it doesn't gets it done)...its the only way to get clearance above to raise the unit to pop the Radiator's leg stems completely out of the sockets.
    2) To help separate the Condenser from Radiator, use two ~2.5mm Hex/Allen Wrenches as spacers. When you De-Latch the Condenser on one side, slip a Hex Wrench in/under the clip, so when you go to the other side to De-Latch, you don't have the previous one slip back down/in!
Note: THIS WAS A RADIATOR CHANGE FROM HELL. Good luck folks!

If you're going in to replace the radiator, don't bother saving the tabs on the old radiator. Stick a screwdriver in between the fan shroud and radiator, and the AC condenser and the radiator and just snap them off. Easier to remove and the new radiator has new tabs.

Thank you very much for the video! I am replacing the A/C compressor and condenser on my 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 and this was very helpful, as the radiator needs to come out to get the condenser out. Unfortunately, 3 out of 4 bolts on the compressor broke off in the block so I ended up having to take the front bumper off too, so I could have enough clearance to drill out the broken bolts and re-tap the holes. Aren't cars fun?

My son gave me a mazda 3 2008,. after whatching this video, and try to find a radiator cap, and little bit disappointed about how complicated is this issue with the radiator. Man now adays it is so hard to fix your own car mechanically and electronically. i got a 97 honda crv that i fixed myself and i hope i never want to get another car, and I am 80 year old men.

Mazda 3's are great vehicles. Almost any vehicle within the last 8 to 10 years is basically impossible to work on yourself which stinks! Btw, the mazda 3 does not have a traditional radiator cap on the radiator. You just fill at the reservoir. First time i have ever seen that

What is the electrical connector behind the top part of the radiator support? When the hood prop is lying flat, it's right under there. I'm asking because I am a 17 year old that just bought an 08 mazdaspeed 3 for $650 and that connector on my car doesn't have anything attached to it. Also, the horn doesn't work. Any info/advice would be appreciated.

Hey! I hate to hear that. I used basic tools. It really wasn't too difficult, just allow yourself time. The hardest part is getting those black clips removed from the top. I used several flathead screwdrivers to push in the tabs. Shout at me if you get stuck or need help!

Just Another Tunertv thank you for the hastily reply, turns out it wasn’t my radiator but a hose, I didn’t get a close look but it’s under the air intake, not necessarily the manifold. No huge hose attached to the radiator but a smaller one attached to the block. Had to replace the top hose to my radiator before, but who knows I saw my radiator and my thermostat both steaming. Only way I could find the leak was pouring more water in.
