  • I needed to fix one of the two lamps in the workshop, because it's old and past it, but rather buy new, it just needed a circle of MDF/Ply to cut and strengthen the base/mounting. I didn't have a circle jig, some decided to make some out of scrap. I just used the bandsaw to make it, loads of people use the tables - but whats the point?

@@BrainFizz your explanation was precise and to the point.
I have a lamp with same broken base. I picked up some excellent Birch plywood from a nursing day care school that remodeling and the director said help yourself. I want to make a 6"×36" sanding station and making the rollers with the band is cleaner and less work.

Fairly simple, but hugely important! This constitutes exactly 50% of workshop lighting, excluding torches and other battery operated devices!😂😂
Great Christmas thank you, nice simple family affair with lots of mince pies and treats!👍
I trust you and yours had a good time?

Tis the simple fixes that are most often severely underrated! 😉
Happy to hear you had a great time, mate. 👍🏽
A laid back day, all the kids (now adults) gathered at our place for a
hearty meal, loads of deserts, and yep, you guessed it, mince tarts!

Thanks Steve! It’s had a couple of outings since it’s birth. But they’re not an everyday jig for me..... couldn’t see the point in spending loads of time on it. Took longer to dismantle and redux the lamps than make the jig!😀😀
