  • Please Read!!! - I was advised by the local ATV Club that you are not allowed to ride ATV's on the sand, just on the rock bridge that goes out to the island, so try and stay off the sand and keep this area beautiful for a long time !
    My buddy and I had some vacation so we packed up the Grizzlies and went camping, explored some new and Old trails. Find me on Instagram @maritimeratv.

    Hey buddy! Was glad to see another Martin head island vid on the channel! What an awesome experience that would be! I’m eager myself to do this trip hopefully this year! Ya good to be on vacation an no plans but the trails ahead, that would sound good to me haha! Definitely would have been hot driving in that heat lol. Wow the crossing the tide, that was a high crossing there for sure 🥴! Great spot there and setup you both had! Anyways thanks for taking us along again buddy, I appreciate you putting these vids together for us, I’m really finding them beneficial for me understanding the trail network down in your area! Anyways take care an will see you on the next one! Cheers 🍻

      Hey buddy ! yeah this was my very first camping trip at Martin Head ! it was a ton of fun. and my buddy (Jordan) rides Snowmobile all winter so he knew the trails really well.
      You gotta go camp there this summer ! if you ever need help planning a route I can try to help ya. I know the High and Low tide trail can be a bit of a pain to find if you dont know where to look.

      @@Maritimer sounds good, I would definitely appreciate that. I’ve been doing some preliminary route research looking at Polaris ride command, quad nb an google earth. Have it mostly mapped out, but there are a few spots that I may need some input on 😋. I’ll reach out to connect for a few pointers when time gets near 🙂. Thanks again! Cheers an take care buddy!

    Awesome video!
    Glad I'm not the only one that "always forgets at least one thing" - lol.
    That was a heck of a long drive out to the camping area - WOW! The last time I did an overnight trip was probably 2010(?). We went from Frank, AB to Jaffary, BC (via Elkford, BC). It was a blast!
    Jordan sure has the "wheelie thing" down pat! I might have to remove my last video of that guy I filmed doing the wheelie on the sandbar - lol. It's almost embarrassing compared to Jordan's - lol.
    Nice grill your dad made.
    Thanx for doing the "leave no trace" thing. I wish more people were like you. I am always flabbergasted at the amount of garbage I see on the trail.
    Great ride along Marti! Thanx for sharin'!

      +quaddingsous Hey Thank You ! I think we all always forget one thing or another haha and Jordan is definitely obsessed with doing wheelies ! It was a long trip for sure but Ive wanted to go ATV camping for a long time. And I can't believe the Garbage I see people leave, I notice a lot of people burning those filing chairs.... like the fire is gonna burn up the metal poles and stuff... drives me crazy. thanks for watching !

    That was a super cool place to camp out, too bad it was all fogged in...hate to take a header off that cliff, lol. Second site you found wasn't too shabby either. Some neat lookouts and vistas around there. Kind of a bugger having to wait for the tide to go out before you crossed that one place. Nice video man!

    I'm a member of the sussex ATV club. Great video. I really want to thank you for your "pack in, pack out" practices, and for cleaning up garbage from others who aren't so considerate. I wish all ATVers were more like you.
    I also wanted to give you a friendly heads up. We recently had the off road/conservation officers come and give a talk to our club about off road rules. They are about to get aggressive on enforcement starting now. Martin Head came up specifically. You have to keep your machine above the high tide mark on the beach, cross the river only at the ford at the bottom of the low-tide trail, and keep to the top of the causeway out to the island. If they catch you anywhere else on the beach, it's gonna be a fine. He also claimed that they can and have written tickets retroactively for violations they find in youtube videos. The video section where you and your bud are out on the mud at low tide is a definite no-no. Something to keep in mind for the future. Happy trails. :)

      +A Smith Hey man, glad you enjoyed the video, and I've always been a guy who try's to leave a place how it was before I got there. I'd like to be able to show my kids these places someday.
      Thats pretty wild they are going to crack down, but I'm glad they are doing that, protect what we have. I'm not a fan of handing out fines for just driving on the beach, I mean we weren't in the water, but if thats the rules then I will obey them.
      I always have my bike registered, insured and a trail pass, so that goes a long way when you encounter the trail police (DNR)
      I'd like to thank you for having such beautiful trails in Sussex, they are some of my favourite trails to ride, you pretty much have everything ! haha glad you liked my video and hope you check out some more, there are a few of me riding in Sussex.

    Salt water is a killer on everything on an ATV. However, rinse it off with lots of fresh water and keep the Rust Check to it and it sure saves a lot of grief. The Rust Check Coat and Protect (green can) is a bit messy, but the salt water does not penetrate it or wash it off that easily. Been using it on the brake hubs on my boat trailer for 8 years now and the hubs have not even started to rust.

    • @Maritimer
      @Maritimer  8 лет назад

      +D Smith Yeah for sure, I didn't want to drive through all that, but had too, and I washed my bike twice when I got home with good fresh water, and I rust checked everything, I love that stuff, I get my truck done ever year, it's a 2010 and has no rust anywhere.

    Is a big quad needed ? I’ve never ridden one. I’m 6’1 210lbs. I’ve ridden dirt bikes for years. I have no clue what to buy. The Kodiak looks cool. I plan on using it for camping trips/exploring. It’s snows where I live so 4x4 is a must. Please help. Thank you.

    • @Maritimer
      @Maritimer  4 года назад +1

      Hey man, like I said on your other comment, a big quad isn't needed, too many people think they NEED the biggest, baddest bike... they think if it has the most power or is the fastest, then that makes it "the best" and its just not true... what's best for me, may not be what's best for someone else.... riding style, budget really have the most to do with what bike is best for you.
      The Kodiak is a nice machine, so is the Rubicon.

      +The Acadian ATVing Hey man glad you liked my video! and I hope you get to do it soon, maybe I'll even see you there.
      As far as the exact trails to take it's hard for me to say, you'd need to get onto the Snowmobile trails, we actually used the App "iSnowNB" it gives you all the Sled trails in NB in GPS format, it's really cool, has all trails with the trail number on them. The guy I went with is a sledder so he knew the trails. But i'm sure you can get a map of the trip system from the NB Sledding federation. Good Luck !

    • @blindliquor100
      @blindliquor100 8 лет назад

      +Maritimer Thanks Bro for the info...I'm assuming that app IsnowNB is for the Android device..because I can't find it on my iPhone? But no big deal...I have a Garmin Montana that shows me a lot of the Trails in NB..but it only shows me the Foot Trail from Martin's Head to Alma...so I don't think I can rid my ATV on the foot trails!! But I guess I'll have to figure it out when ever I get there..:)

    • @Maritimer
      @Maritimer  8 лет назад

      I have it on my i phone, its actually called "iSnowTrailNB" and I think it costs $2. we'll I hope you go and enjoy it, maybe make a movie out of it ! I have another video on my channel "1st Solo Over nighter" and it's at Martin Head Beach also, but I'm in my truck not my bike.

    • @blindliquor100
      @blindliquor100 8 лет назад +1

      +Maritimer I did eventually find the app...you were right..it was called Isnowtrailnb..I downloaded the app..it's not a bad app!!
      I also did watch your Solo camping trip on the Martin beach...looks awesome too..very beautiful place to camp!!
      I guess you gotta make sure your tent is set up high enough so the water dosint take it away when it comes in..lol.
      I live in Niagara Falls Ont right now...but selling my house in the spring and moving to Tracadie-Shiela NB where my parents live!!
      There is a lot of great trails around my parents to... We even have the Federation ATV trail that runs right in front of our family cottage in Inkerman NB..!! Iv been on it a few times when I use to drive up from Ontario to visite my Parents in NB :) I already have a 2002 Kawasaki 450 4x4 that's in my Parents garage...but when I move down to NB this summer..I'm gonna by a brand new Can-Am with all the bells and whistles :) and I also have a utility trailer that I can tow my ATV around if I need to..:)

    why are you driving so fast ..overheating your bike & beating it..any way bout that folding chair 😄 I've been watching bush craft for a while .guess you haven't ..thought you were one ..they build chairs out of branches that last along time & are comfortable ..also I didn't no you were in camp grounds..

      Hey Will ! I was following my buddy Jordan, he knew the way so I kept up with him, plus it's fun to drive fast sometimes, normally I drive slower. The chair I have is a super small folding chair, It's easier than building a chair, especially on a trip like this..... and no we did stay in a camp ground, we just parked out trucks outside of a campground that was close to the ATV trails and we left and went wild camping...

      Gilles Godin Hey thanks for the support ! Were in Southern New Brunswick, CAN. These trails are around the Sussex and Saint Martin, NB area, they are really great trails ! All I need is a trail pass to be on them (legally) and its less then $100/Year. Also insurance to be able to take your ATV off your own property (legally) Some guys don't have anything haha But I'd rather be safe then get a fine. Glad you enjoy my videos, thanks !

    Ok, I have to ask... Why do you call your 4 wheeler's "Bikes"??? Bike as in (Bicycle) - "Bi"cycle as in "two" refers to a vehicle with two wheels... It doesn't make sense calling them bikes. It's not just you guys either. Tons of people call them bikes! What do you guys call Dirt Bikes?... Quads?

    • @Maritimer
      @Maritimer  6 лет назад

      Hey man, I'm not sure, I guess its all where you're from, we always say "lets go bikin" or "big bikin trip this weekend" and its usually the people from town who haven't grown up with 4-wheelers that say "Quadding" or "quad"; its just not a term the country guys say. I find myself saying "ATV'ing" more now that I have my YT channel, but when I'm with my friends everyone says Bikin' ! Also I Started out riding Dirtbikes (KX80) and we always called that "Bikin" too lol guess were different on the east coast haha plus I used to race mountain bikes, and that was going "biking" too haha Come to think of it..... it is kind of confusing lol

      Maritimer this is hilarious. It's just the opposite where I grew up. I'm from a very rural part of upstate NY (Town of about 1200 and I'm 12 miles out of town) ... and here everyone says 4wheeling or riding ATVs... and all the city people that come up from NYC and Philly say "Bike" or "Quadbike" which is an especially funny one lol.

    • @BS0821
      @BS0821 5 лет назад

      We also refer to them as "machines" a lot

    For the record, the abbreviation for kilo is a small 'k' - kilometer (km), kilogram (kg), kilovolt (kV), kilonewton (kN), kilopascal (kPa) etc.

  • @JohnSmith-js2tk
    @JohnSmith-js2tk 7 лет назад

    Why call it a bike? Bike is short for bi-cycle which implies two wheels. Quad implies four wheels which is how many you have... Cool videos though!

    • @Maritimer
      @Maritimer  7 лет назад +3

      Hey John, I'm not sure we always say Biking, I think it's a maritime thing. Personally when someone says Quadding I always think of some city guy/girl who has no idea what they are taking about, and saying ATV'ing id sort of clumsy and awkward to say. Bikin' just rolls off the tongue haha glad you like the videos !
