So beautiful countryside! Is this part of the Flint Hills National Grasslands? Is that KS-177 or US-77 or US-56 highway in the video? I just drove through the Flint Hills on US-54 Friday 6/15. So beautiful after they have finished burning the old brown grass out. I live in western Kansas, La Crosse to be exact!

This is part of the Flint HIlls. The highway is KS-177 between Cassoday and Strong City. This video is taken just south of Matfield Green. It is a great place to drive thru this time of year when it is all green for sure! Thanks for the comment I will have to look at Google Earth and check out La Crosse! I grew up in Wichita and now live in the KC metro area. Lots of trains for stress relief after work and weekends.

Doc Grommesh MoPac use run threw La Crosse, now it's K&O and it's a deadened line at McCracken. K&O runs over to the Geneseo connection that runs south to Sterling Junction with the former ATSF. Which then runs into Hutchinson. I think? But I also think that MoPac had a small interchange yard northwest of Hutchinson with the former ATSF or it ran into Hutchinson too? Just after the merger with UP, UP ran a whole lot of Southern Pacific through freights through La Crosse! Piggybacks, bi-level autoracks and TOFC's!

Nice video, but what's up with your gimbal?

Thanks Tom! LOL so the wind was blowing so hard that I can't believe the gimbal didn't fly off. I have been trying to get footage everytime I go thru this area and am always afraid the wind will take my drone away. I finally just said forget it, I am going for it. Probably exceeding the specs for the P4A (what I am guessing was gusts in the 40 to 45+ mph range) the gimbal actually did better than I thought it would. If you check out the trees at the beginning you can see just how hard it is blowing!

I did notice the trees and kind of thought that it was so windy that your drone was pitched beyond the capability of the gimbal to compensate for it. Nice job! I assume you hand caught it?

Oh yeah I caught it. I had to take off from the ground with the truck blocking the wind. I put it on the back of my truck bed cover where I usually take off and the blades actually were spinning before I started the motors!
