I love how these pros make these videos on poker tells that were relevant in the 70's, but don't mean shit now since everyone knows about them and manufactures them whenever possible. Pros aren't going to tell you their real secrets if they have any. Most of the successful tells I've gotten from other players I got from studying their neck, chest, and hands, not their eyes.
So true. And the kids playing now are just so good at the classic "poker face", keeping everything neutral, their face, their language, their body motion.
Everyone doesnt know about them dude . i am a pro i didnt know about these tells . i study for multiple hours a day so dont be fooled. I have seen tells given off by seasoned pros that are super obvious . I like to study the players when i watch them play on live feeds. Looking for tells . Also not all poker players are on youtube looking for vids about poker tells . I learned a couple of tells in this vid. They will all work vs old man coffee and recs who are just drunk and playing loosely
@@Shanethe420lb_Rat If you're a pro and don't already know about these tells, I would assume that you play predominantly online, and not live. I'm a slightly above average amateur *at best* and these tells have been obvious to me and most of the folks I play with for a long time. Maybe some may consciously choose not to observe them?
for me, I spot bluffs based on situations, not physical tells. In other words, so often, bluffs take place on the river after a donk misses his flush or open ender. He or she then doesn't know what to do, doesn't want to expose their miss, so they default to bluffing. This is especially true for those holding AK or AQ. They often will bluff the missed flop, turn and river. Other huge tell of a bluff is when nobody bets the flop or turn, but then suddenly fires out a big bet on the river that makes no sense - they're typically bluffing in that situation. Lastly, those who bluff typically try it often, so when you catch someone bluffing, expect him or her to do it again, especially if they're on tilt or are new to your table
Annie is a real smart and cute cookie! I really like the way she talks. She is down to earth and she comes off as shy and really great to get on with. She is a excellent poker player too. She's had a few good tournaments in her earlier years. My vote is a "thumbs up"!
My #1 Poker Tell (against players who don't know well enough to send out reverse tells): When they are in a pot and their actions are out of the ordinary from the way they usually act while involved in a pot. Then you have to figure out if it means they're weak or strong.
This kind of stuff is good to know, so that I know what idiots might think about me when for example I'm blinking furiously trying to get my contact lens to pop back in or something.
A lot of "tells" can be used for spotting lies/truth as she stated, in any situation. We all have involuntary gestures. Problem is, there are multiple reasons for some of the same gestures.
Uninsightful people are complaining... Look, the advice itself is a meta-bluff. The reliable income comes from naive, novice and gullible players. This is very good advice for them so the rest of us can beat them.
1. disappearing after black friday 2. running off with player's money 3. have the nerve to create EPIC POKER which is now bankrupt 4. is related to coward flederer 5. has not apologized once for the incident
Hunh? If they're blind you'd have been helping them by looking at their cards for them from the git-go, wouldn't you? C'mon, get with the program, dummy...
Every tell that most of these pros talk about are always bluffing tells. Why is every tell a bluff tell. People aren't always bluffing or not bluffing. Its more complicated than that.
lookaguru i know lol. Some people blink when they have a good feeling ffs,, blinking means shit unless you know that person well and know thats what he/she does. Most people cant work themselves out never mind work someone else out,, which takes more that 2 minutes ffs. Annie duke paid to sell bullshit, same with all these cheating pros.
Funny because i purse? or whatever its called my lips in a sarcastic smile when someones talking to me and idiotically doesn't believe what I'm saying when it's true
well these are bluff tells towards a unsophisticated poker player, of course alot of ppl now adays knows these poker tells and TRY to use them against other opponents to try to trick them into thinking they are bluffing. But back in the day these tells would of made u money... now adays not so much since unless u know the person is completely poker stupid and doesnt know about any poker tells.
lol, if I'm playing against her and I'm not bluffing, I'm doing all those things. I'm betting she knows this too and this is all sort of a joke to her.
Om y lord, these are such simplistic generalized analysis, ..dangerous to take this in literally and go into a game where someone can use this info against you. Your fallacy is that only you are observant and no one else at the table is cognizant of behavior and know they can manipulate it to influence other's thinking. People are more sophisticated than you think. Play poker smart using real analysis and having a context of your table
well no, there are people who can read others like books. however, if the mark knows they are being watched, with knowledge on the subject they can send mixed signals or just stone face it. but yeah, i agree, making bets on people's body language is not smart play. (of course reading your opponent is a necessary part of poker)
decent advice for players starting poker. Unfortunately, this is really novice and for players that have even been playing for, maybe even 6 months or so, would have refined their poker face and not to give up silly tells as described. Advanced players already know about these things, so they could even act the opposite, throwing all these tips off.
Placido Pax Considering the title of this video was named "Top Five..." I was on the assumption that these would be the best advice for the game of Poker.
Tim D ... Men who live by that motto usually have very unhappy families, bad business deals and friends who take advantage. Then one day they come home to the Dear John letter everyone else saw coming, and blames it all on "never saw it coming. what a bitch." ps. and they end up in horrible little apartments or they kill the kids.
My favorite thing about being a poker dealer is coming to RUclips and watching these types of videos and then trying to identify these tells while I'm dealing (not supposed to stare at players while dealing so I have to be subtle). These 5 tells are on point. Especially the self soothing one. Dealing poker has REALLY helped my game.
do you remember the true poker 3d site from the early 2000s?? I made one deposit $20 and i was up by 8k when i stopped playing there . i played there for 3-4 years. I didnt know how to manage my bankroll and i withdrew money when i shouldnt have . I was a rookie lol ... i still have the shirt they sent me for hitting a royal flush . the characters in the game all had there own sayings it was super fun . i wish someone would open a 3d site again like that . If i had the software i would open the site myself.
Sometimes you can tell a player has a really poor hand in life if they retire for 10 years after consistent accusations within the family of cheating people out of millions of dollars.
sure sign of bluffing is check out the guy scalp to see if he wearing a rug on his head Sure sign that he bluffing most of the time . The only blinkie i know in poker is Dan Negranu
reading someone is very unreliable, people can't tell if someones bluffing apart from anyone else. Even FBI and CIA agents cannot distinguish if someone is lying or not any better than the average person.
These are all bullshit. It's amazing that someone can succeed at something and yet not fully understand it. Probably just an indication of how little anyone understands it.
Also if you look really close in some ones eyes and see dollar signs they have a good hand.
lolol
Was your brothers' eyes blinking really fast when he said everything was A-OK at his Poker Site?

There's a clip of Annie and Erick Sidel in a heads-up match where Annie flops the nuts and immediately gives off an obvious tell.
I blink based on how dry my contacts are.
So she is blinking a lot while saying all this. I think she is bluffing!
Annie you look great! These tips are good...i'll keep them in mind next time I'm at the poker table.
Tammy Bishop this is not her channel
Where was this filmed? In the dealer's break room at Binion's?
Liking these tips for my next poker tournament. I will def. keep them in mind.
how did ya make out ?? lolol
Annie is a real smart and cute cookie! I really like the way she talks. She is down to earth and she comes off as shy and really great to get on with. She is a excellent poker player too. She's had a few good tournaments in her earlier years. My vote is a "thumbs up"!
It also helps if you have a superuser account and can see your opponents hole cards online, right Annie?
Don't tell my wife - I'm in love with Annie Duke!
I knew the one about the eye contact, but the others I didn't. Thanks!
At least one of these tells is discussed in Puggy Neutron's book about tells. It is one of the most accurate tells in no limit holdem.
tip #1 if im playing vs daniel negreanu am i supposed to ask him if he is bluffing
I will lift my nose and tap my feet next time I bluff and blink lip lips and sooth myself when I have a good hand?
My #1 Poker Tell (against players who don't know well enough to send out reverse tells): When they are in a pot and their actions are out of the ordinary from the way they usually act while involved in a pot. Then you have to figure out if it means they're weak or strong.
4 is a nervous sign. And if she says people are nervous when bluffing, then it should be read as a bluff sign.
I always crawl around under the poker table looking for happy feet before I bet.
If someone went all in and is licking there teeth and gums... make sure they aren't eating a peanut jelly sandwich before you call them.
This kind of stuff is good to know, so that I know what idiots might think about me when for example I'm blinking furiously trying to get my contact lens to pop back in or something.
she never mentions the time she
lost $300,000.00 in less than a month
the daniel negreanu comment lol but it in the tops
some guys giggle their foot, when they bluff. one guy i played actually shook the table when he did this. course they may be over caffienated
A lot of "tells" can be used for spotting lies/truth as she stated, in any situation. We all have involuntary gestures. Problem is, there are multiple reasons for some of the same gestures.
Annie is very alluring....
Member when Annie Duke was a thing?
TAKE YOUR TOP OFF!!!
Uninsightful people are complaining... Look, the advice itself is a meta-bluff. The reliable income comes from naive, novice and gullible players. This is very good advice for them so the rest of us can beat them.
I have a bushy tail, and Annie just made it wag!
If someone blinks a lot that means their bluffing or uncomfortable at the table. Wow, Daniel Negreanu must be bluffing all the time them lol.
Tetley make teabags make tea.
Ive wondered if a player just went all out, over the top, like one of the three stooges, would they thus become 'unreadable' ??
wotan237 95% of "reads" and "tells" are betting patterns, not exaggerated physical behaviors.
Interesting.
Great tips ! Thanks !
1. disappearing after black friday
2. running off with player's money
3. have the nerve to create EPIC POKER which is now bankrupt
4. is related to coward flederer
5. has not apologized once for the incident
What does it mean if she blinks a lot while claiming that it indicates a lie?
This sentence is false.
1:10 😳
I didn’t like Annie. When she was on the apprentice I saw how smart she is and now I think she is great
does that mean that daniel negreanu is permanently bluffing?
Sage advice from the world
Class pro, Ms. Duke!
Poker IS "Real Life"!!!
" Blinking " what if they're blind .... should I call em out ?
Hunh? If they're blind you'd have been helping them by looking at their cards for them from the git-go, wouldn't you?
C'mon, get with the program, dummy...
She’s a ride
Every tell that most of these pros talk about are always bluffing tells. Why is every tell a bluff tell. People aren't always bluffing or not bluffing. Its more complicated than that.
she should check out dr. paul ekman... then she would know what she should be looking at...
If someone who blinks really fast is lying then Daniel Negreanu is always lying .lol

lookaguru i know lol. Some people blink when they have a good feeling ffs,, blinking means shit unless you know that person well and know thats what he/she does. "Poker Champion" is really pushing it imo. Hard to take this women seriously after fallout.
@lewnik69 Classy.
lol, if I'm playing against her and I'm not bluffing, I'm doing all those things. I'm betting she knows this too and this is all sort of a joke to her.

if youre givin off tells like that you shouldnt be playing poker
you are great but this tips are not, sry...
I'm not looking under the table to see if someone is bluffing...that's some stupid shit.

Placido Pax Considering the title of this video was named "Top Five..." I was on the assumption that these would be the best advice for the game of Poker.
Placido Pax But it's just somewhat bad advice to begin with, as it teaches beginners to learn bad techniques right from the start.
Placido Pax Thanks.
Shes kinda pretty, in an ugly sort of way, or ugly , in a Pretty sort of way.You decide.
TROLOLOLOLOL

Anish pratap that's your big secret you let your girl sit at the table and ppl pay you off lol

What a load of crap
LOL, I'm not taking poker advice from Annie Duke. If I'm going to take poker advice it's going to be from guys like Phil Ivey or Dan Harrington.

So next time if you aren't bluffing Just blink really fast.
Helmuth has a tail.
The opening seconds of this vid seems like an intro to a porn scene.

This should be renamed "how to lose your money in 20 mins"
reading someone is very unreliable, people can't tell if someones bluffing apart from anyone else. Even FBI and CIA agents cannot distinguish if someone is lying or not any better than the average person.
Thank you Annie. I will now do the opposite. : /
LOL. She is bluffing us.
These are all bullshit. It's amazing that someone can succeed at something and yet not fully understand it. Probably just an indication of how little anyone understands it.
It normally means you are playing Annie Duke, Jennifer Tilly, Kara Scott or Gaelle Baumann. This means you should cut your losses and cash out.
Or, you can ignore all of this and pay attention to the player's betting patterns, which is the only tell worth looking at.
ANNIE DUKEhas a complete set of fake teeth. She is wearing dentures. Pause at :51 LMAO!!!
annie, marry me
Number 6 - Someone's face is so full of botox they can't talk properly.
Its Not Our Leg....
She got this all from joe nervaro, and paul ekman
Poker tells are brought to you by Tetley Tea.
Ew. she's like 100 years old, keep it on.
people can do these things on purpose too
