Thanks a lot for watching and safe journeys!
The whole state of California offers different types of unique beauty. Lovely beach town.
Grew up going to Pismo..that pier and boardwalk brings back a lot of good memories. Use to be a movie theatre across from the bowling alley..watched Charleton Heston in Omega Man there back in the early 70s. Brads restaurant probably the oldest and most famous on that street. If you want a great steak...go check out McClintocks off of Hwy 101 near shell beach..great views and atmosphere too
Thanks for posting..
I am old. My long time friend who passed would always share his young life at Pismo beach. I will probably never make it there.. Now I have a better understanding of the Attraction..
California is literally a country. It’s so big and varied.
It really is. There's landscapes for all types of activites, great weather, lots of beaches, great foods from all over the world. Sure, it's not perfect but it's still an amazing state!
Geographically Cali is one of the most varied and beautiful places on earth. It has a sample of just about everything, mountains, snow, deserts, grassy hills, valleys, a long coast with bays, rivers, marshes and beaches. There are forests of oak, giant redwoods, pine. It is one place that can rightly boast, it has it all.
@@duffysullivan2794 totally agree 🙌🙌🙌

I know I'm late but whatever?
Anyway, the coastline is the only good thing about CA.
And for the food it depends where are? Everywhere I go or went CA mainly has fast-food and MX cuisine much more than anything these days.
I remember growing up in Pismo Beach in the 1950’s and 60,s they had a indoor roller skating rink down by the ocean and next door was a ball room called the Rose Garden where they use to have big concerts and dances long time ago, now the former Rose Garden is a restaurant right next to the beach and the skating rink has become a couple of stores, Pismo Beach also had a small amusement park right across from the ocean too now that lot has become a big hotel. The town was different back then with no big fancy hotels or anything just a little beach town in the 50’s and 60’s. My how time has changed this town.
Thanks for the look at Pismo Beach, I'll have to check it out.
Used to go there as a kid sometimes more than 45 years ago. Was a good place to go clamming. Passed by in July 2020. My first time back in Cali since 87.
Hollister is well known for it’s big motorcycle rally, and I always thought all the T-shirts were because of that till reading the comments in this video. Used to have a friend in Hollister and I used to fly in there a lot. The Hollister airport is one of my favorite airports as several WW II aircraft are based there and there is skydiving daily. Otherwise, there is nothing for me in Hollister, but the Pinnacles National Monument is worth going to.
Hello Gabriel, its nice to see and hear you again! your videos have provided a "virtual tourism' to me and family. keep it up and stay safe!!!! love from Zimbabwe!!!!
i visited here while on my coast to coast toad trip in november! California holds a special place in my heart, espeically Pismo! Had an excellent time there.
Ahhhhhhhh California! Nice Gabe! Keep enjoying those steps in the sand and beyond. Was there twice as a teen and a 21-year old. Awesome!
I was just there last year in pismo beach.
Thanks for showing some love for Pismo Beach. BTW, them surfing goats are a legend here.
Pismo Beach is great in all seasons. Whether you want to surf, explore the Pismo Beach dunes, go wine tasting or simply stroll on the beach, Pismo Beach is a great getaway. Located in central California off highway 101, this is a perfect little beach town getaway.
What! You're here in California. Yay!
Some memories in that video. Spent many a happy hour on that beach!
Just walking through the mall yesterday in Madrid Spain and low and behold there was a Hollister Store.. It's funny, Hollister in the United States is "cool" to wear if you're in high school.. In parts of the world it's fashionable for adults to wear it, whereas after you get older in the United States it's not "cool" lol. I'm like you Gabe, I wear the same 3-5 shirts year round depending on the weather.. Now that's fashion lol
Oh, Pismo Beach! My husband proposed on the beach near the pier. We spent our honeymoon there. We moved there Feb 2020. 3 houses from the cliff looking out of every window at the ocean and pier. 💕💕💕
We moved back to our AZ home because of Covid. 🤷🏼♀️ We'll be back. It's such a cool place to live.
Nice tour of Pismo, thank you Gabriel. 🙏
Awesome vid. Good to see Californians out and about!
better to move your arse up there and see them for real
The only thing notable about Hollister is that there is a Fosters Freeze restaurant owned by relatives of mine in that town.
That's worth stopping for.
I have a buddy in Lompoc, what a small world.
Donny was a good man, and a good bowler...
He surfed these beaches from La Jolla to Leo Carrillo and up to Pismo
classic
Hi Gabriel, oh yes California is a big state with much to do and enjoy outdoors and indoors. It came to mind an old bugs bunny cartoon where he comes out of the ground and says Pismo Beach and all the clams you can eat.
There's an I Love Lucy bit where they go up to Pismo Beach. My brother's wife has a DVD of the show. I guess Pismo was the place to go on vacation in the 50's if you lived in LA.
Not as much fun as saying Cucamonga I always found really funny.
OMG Gabe, You’re in my old college stomping ground (Cal Poly)! I love Pismo but my favorite beach is near Lompoc, Jalama Beach. I wish you had time to check it out. Adios, John from Pasadena
lol my hometown. I missed you dang it. ive been watching for at least 6 years.
Hi Gabriel, the Hollister t-shirt that you see everywhere has nothing to do with the little town of Hollister in California. It's a clothing brand called Hollister for teenagers and young adults owned by Abercrombie & Fitch co. I used to have one they're pretty cool.
A lot of the Hollister t-shirts actually say "Hollister, California" on them. So that's the confusing part. Check on Amazon.com for Hollister t-shirt and you'll see what I mean.
A blessed good day sir Gabe Wowwww what a nice beautiful day there in Pismo Beach ⛱️ in California a wonderful place for the family and friends thank u so much again sir Gabe for your nice excellent walk around tour with you keep safe Godbless u from your solid fan supporter viewer from the Philippines 🇵🇭 sir Vhin 💕👏👏🙂🙂🙏🙏🙏❤️👍👏👏👏👏👏
Hollister was made famous in 1947 when bikers took over the town. There was a movie made about it and ever since a motorcycle rally has been held there. It's also famous for off road riding.
Funny with the Hollister brand. Is still very popular. The kid in the video is from the town and the shirts he’s wearing is his Hollister High School shirt not the store brand.
For the first time in a long time, we're doing a vacation rental in Pismo Beach instead of Morro Bay on our annual trip up to the Central Coast. It's a house that's a 1/2 block from the beach and about a block from the pier. Hoping to dine at places where we can get reservations instead of the wait lists in most restaurants in Morro Bay.
Jerry Garcia played some rocking concerts at the Pismo Theater.🤗
That is so interesting about Hollister! A video about that would be cool!
We may have a second home a few miles away from Pismo Beach if all goes well. Avila Beach a few miles away is also worth the trip!
I was in and around LA two years ago for a few days.... Need to go back for a lot longer!!
"Pismo" means Letter in Serbo/Croatian/Bosnian/Montenegrin. Letter beach lol sounds cool haha xD Awesome video! California is beautiful!
Thanks for showing the town more in this vid, which is what I like. I like the outdoor dining there, which is probably for covid. I hope we keep the outdoor dining even after covid.
That took a lot for Pismo to do otherwise it was all shutdown. It took over the sidewalks which I doubt they will keep when Covid goes away.
🍀Hi.. Gabriel.. Wonderful Pismo beach... Bellissimo... California is great.. God bless you always... And stay safe and healthy... Saluti from Switzerland 🇨🇭💚
Amazing watching you at a place I actually go to frequently. For us Central Californians this is our Santa Barbara or Venice Beach. That being said it's become a lot more commercialized, if you are still in the area definitly check out Morro Bay, it retains the old small town central coast vibe and is famous for its about 54 story volcanic plug.
Man! I live in Pismo Beach and am a HUGE Gabe fan! I missed Gabriel on Maui by a couple days a few years ago. I even commented then how flying from Oahu to Maui the stewardess commented on my Gabriel T-shirt. We could have even colabed on a video. Darn!
Cool man, I think I remember you saying something about the shirt.
Looks like a very nice town to walk around
Very cool I live 15 miles or less from here didn't think I would see a video on it on RUclips they just finished all that walk way. Great stuff ✌️👍👌💯
Go to the restaurant by the big clam, good fish and chips.
California is always nice, sunshine, the beach. Even in these crazy times it's a beautiful place to visit. But Newsom has to go of course.
If you're near the coast .Inland is a hot Concrete Jungle
Another foreign destination. Cool.
Looks like it's Fish Taco and beer O'clock!
Pismo beach look Great! 😀👍
Bread bowl Clam chowder best I've ever had is in Pismo. Enjoy
Nice town. Nice wide beach, little cute town. I often wondered why you don't hear more about the places between LA and San Fran.
Pismo beach is a nice place to chill out!
Read Dave Eggers’ article in New Yorker about Hollister. It’s a fascinating story of this little California town.
Nicest people I ever met while travelling was a family from Hollister.
Great beach! haven’t been there in awhile. I miss Pismo and Avila beach
Gabriel... we gotta get you a haircut.
No, no you guys got it all wrong. It's California!
They be wearing their baggies
Huarache sandals too
Bushy bushy blonde hairdo
Surfin' USA!
I always thought the Hollister T-shirts I keep seeing around the world in unexpected third world countries were knock-offs from the huge motorcycle rally held in Hollister California every July. Similar to the Sturgis T shirts from the big Harley rally held in South Dakota every August...
But No.....Google is telling me that Abercrombie and Fitch had a line of Hollister brand sportswear including shirts emblazoned with the Hollister name which were quite popular with the younger crowd. That is the more likely source of the worldwide knockoffs still seen along with Nike etc on kids and adults around the world.....
Maybe the designer of Abercrombie and Fitch was influenced by the motorcycle rally
According to Wiki the Hollister brand name is not related to Hollister CA. The Company was actually founded in Ohio. The owners (Abercrombie & Fitch) have even threatened to sue Hollister CA For trademark infringement!
Strange, because a lot of the shirts actually say Hollister, California on them and often they have images of surfers and beaches.
California dreaming GABE!🏄🏻♂️🏊🏻♀️🤸🏻♂️💪🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Beautiful pismo beach, morro bay is also nice
hell id love to be in cali right now. the level of bliss permeation feels intense :)
Nice work!
Camp a lot at some of the beaches along Pismo always enjoyed them,.
Awesome always wanted to visit 👍🏻
I like Pismo beach, i was there 2011
Man this is the closest you've ever been to where I am. I'm from Costa Mesa, CA. I hope we're able to fly soon but meanwhile enjoy the beach 🤙. If you end up driving further down you should check out Laguna, Newport, and Huntington beach!
Hollister is famous! It was "invaded" by a motorcycle club in 1947. They "took over" the town for a weekend. The movie The Wild One with Marlon Brando and Lee Marvin was based on it.
Confirmation bias syndrome as vicarious availability. This is where once memory notes an object then available memory tends to confirm all the instance as seen everywhere which nicely leads into brand awareness and sales.
Gabe, any chance on getting up to Idyllwild? Would love to see
How have I never heard of this place before?? It looks gorgeous. It's on the list.
As a West Coast Canuck if I could choose a place in the states to live, Idyllwild may be it (typing from Bangkok lol;) Looking fwd to seeing it from your POV Gabe -then ring route, Coachella, Joshua Tree... on on all beautiful areas & hiking
Hey, If you have time get over to Morro Bay (about 20 minutes from San Luis Obispo). Its a beautiful spot with the iconic Morro Rock. Cheers!
Beach Boys California Dreamin
There's a huge hotel down in Lompoc that's totally free to use, even comes with 3 meals a day. All you need to get a reservation is some paperwork. The only thing is you have to share with a roommate and you can't check out. Or ever leave without permission.
Sounds a lot like the local jail!
Have to go to Firestone for the tri tip sandwich
So cool to see you in another place I know well. I live in Portland, OR now, but I grew up in SoCal, and we went to Pismo every summer. It’s crazy how close to home your travel vids make me feel. Can’t wait to see where you go next!
great job
Nice beach close to Dunes
Great location;lovely video
Hollister HOV is a dirtbike paradise for Bay Area riders. Miss it a lot!
Oh my God ..this place is so crowded !! Feels like an Indian Street 😀😀
It's not bad, because of Covid. Without Covid, it's packed.
Pismo is nice. I been there when i was a kid. I'm looking to move there some day. Woah i know Hollister too!
Famous clams!
Welcome to the 805! Name is pronounced Lom poke. A Chumash word. Enjoy the central coast
Nice 👍
Gabe, Hollister is a big name trendy clothing store brand, targeting youth and adolescents. It's usually where malls are located, like Gap, Banana Relublic, etc.
Ha Gabe probably hasn't been in a US mall in a long time.
Please show us more around California!
Hey bro, thanks for sharing. I live in Los Angeles area, but I have visited San Luis Obispo and surrounding areas and I love it!!
I can't wait to go back to CA!
Ahh the chowder bread bowls, daughter went to Cal Poly in the 2000s, got to love Pismo, looks different, thanks✌️
Good morning sir Gabriel ☺
Good morning. :)
Get to southern Italy. When you can.
I agree! But aren't there tons of restrictions there ? Masks outside ?
@@HighVibesTravel you sound like you have just left 12-month coma phase
@@gonnabeok actually I want to live in a world that is not under a PLANDEMIC. So just checking about southern Italy.
@@HighVibesTravel Good choice. Southern Spain would be great too, and being same cheap to live.
