Just an FYI, The internal battery for powering the little illumination light on the VCI 200 only works after being plugged into to vehicle DLC connector for awhile It does not charge via the USB cable used to update it
My VCI 200 worked fine off my BT608 it came with. I updated it via my Maxi Sys Ultra with the USB charger cable that came with my BT608, but it's illumination light for finding the underdash OBD connector doesn't seem to work despite plugging it into the BT608 charger. I will see if the little light on it decides to work after leaving it plugged in the OBD connector for awhile when I see if it connects and works with my Ultra.

I have this problem as well. Currently investigating whether there is a PC tool I may use to diagnose or update these tools. I’ll keep y’all posted.

You are connecting to vcmi not bas you have to go to the one underneath
And make sure it’s up to date
