    I see Whit but I think about his dad, Brad, who was a class act, committed coach and fine man. The apple hasn’t fallen far.

    Every time they have a press conference I bring this up. Unless the in person reporters are made to speak into a mic, it’s very hard for those of us at home to hear the questions. So again, can you please mic up the questioners?

    8.7 million. For 5-6 seasons. Hey Whit I’ll take the coaching job for one of the contracts you give

    So the option for Fuente to finish the season was on the table and he quit on HIS team.

      At the point the papers were signed it was no longer his team.
      If I get fired I'm not staying to help out.

    I would have loved to hear him actually thank Fuente for being the only person who got all of those facilities actually built... Fuente deserves better than what the Hokies gave him, and VT will benefit for years to come from the additions he gave to our school.

    • @Dguess35

      He didn’t build anything. The alumni built it. He was just the coach. And not a good one. Truth hurts

    “Wanted to move on” (with $8,750,000 unearned dollars). I hate these buyout contracts. Either you perform or you don’t. I can understand giving some time to safely build your system, but six years is a goodly amount of time. Glad to see this change and excited about the future. I hope VT is willing to make the investment necessary to obtain a real franchise level coach. I trust the OC position will be filled by the new coach…. Go Hokies!

      Not how the world of contracts work. Tit for tat.

    • @Dguess35

      No contract is one sided I would of have gave him 2 million and said I better not hear your name mentioned again. 5-6 record unbelievable

    • @charliedallachie3539
      @charliedallachie3539 2 года назад

      Agreed…no more long contracts. 2-3 years is fine… it’s crazy how much they make already… one year will send most of us into early retirement

  • @kevinnunya9714

    This firing of Fuente is all on Babcock. He is driving this bus solo and his failure to point out Fuente's flaws and generally speaking about Hokie values - what is he talking about? The fact is Babcock should have fired Fuente last year. I would rather focus on why Fuente could not recruit a Quarterback from Virginia to play in Blacksburg. He had zero starters at QB during his six years that were from Virginia. Says a lot about Fuente's turnip personality. Poor recruiter, poor on field coach, but a great guy.

    Whit Babcock retired the greatest legend in VT football history, then he refused to give the HC job to Shane Beamer who was the obvious choice. He made the great Bud Foster to work under a highly unproven Justin Fuente of Memphis (Memphis, r u serious?) We are not talking about Basketball program here, Whit. And how did that work out for us? Fuente was a wrong hire, own it. Even my Miami Hurricane fan (ex coworker) pointed out that "Fuente from Memphis? He had 1 good season at Memphis and he's Beamer's replacement?" It doesn't take a genius to see what a crappy hire this was.
    VT sports got great because of the great genuine people like Frank Beamer, Bud Foster, and even the likes of Coach Greenberg. Whit Babcock has not done anything to truly help the VT sports program in my humble opinion.
