It took me awhile to figure out what was happening and who was who. Then I just got sucked in. I rode that entire movie in anticipation of 'What's Next' down another tunnel or around the corner. Very good story. The end left me with my jaw down.
Maybe not my plot, but damn.....the dwarf ambience is phenomenal! The best I've ever seen. In the future...before I do anything dwarf related, I'll watch a bit of this and get in the right mood. It was so inpiring. I don't know what to say. It truly tickled my dwarf bone. :) Thank you for this master piece of dwarfishness.

And here I was expecting another fantasy b-movie with awful CGI ... Boy, was I wrong. This is an excellent movie with great actors and a premise that is absolutely relevant. Thanks for uploading.
Finding this movie because my wife’s coworkers just got done honeymooning in the UP and they toured an old copper mine and said a lot of props were left down there from this movie. Had to check it out.

Well, that greatly exceeded my expectations! 😮 I thought I'd be bailing out in less than five minutes after seeing the thumbnail, but now I'll be sharing this with the ol' gamer+D&D crowd. I literally mean "old" since I'm approaching 54. 🧙♂️
A most unusual movie portraying human nature. No matter where we are ... well I'll let you fill in your observations. Very well made, very credible thread, very creative. I sure was glad to see kindness and communication be extended to the subterranean people

@@jbrobertson6052 I will disagree with you on the first statement. There are many, many more good people than 'terrible' people in this world. It is the 'terrible' people that get all the headlines and the attention, and watching any major news program or reading just about any newspaper proves this.
Someone who does a good deed gets very little notice, but someone who murders another person(s), gets 24/7 coverage for days & even weeks. Bad news sells more air time and gets a lot more viewers than good news.
As for the "people in charge", it does seem to be that way, doesn't it. But it is the same with the people in charge as it is with what news we hear & read about. Yes, there are a lot of people in charge who are in it for their own need to have power and control over other people and to enrich their bank account at the suffering of their own people. These bad people are all over the world, and I'm certain that you and I can name many of these same people.
But....yea, there is always the "but"..!! There are also many good and compassionate people who are involved with governments, whether on a local level, or higher level, that really do want to help their fellow citizens to have a better life economically and Societally; to be free and self-determining in how they live their lives and not under the oppressive boot-heel of a dictator and a Communist government. But...here again, we seldom hear about these people.

Great movie! Creative story telling and great characters/acting. It's not an action movie like the trailers & cover may imply but it's definitely a gem. If you don't have an attention span or ability to imagine then this isn't the movie for you and please spare the rest if us from having to listen to whining about you choosing to watch a free movie

Lost for words amazing on so many levels the producers and writers actors and support people created a gem indeed especially with the creature and its unselfish sacrifice very deep indeed good people.
Each of them as such a distinct personality, I want a sequel so much this has a lot of potential, dwarves are just portrayed wrong nowadays and there is not enough dwarf love in today's pop culture! I’m a geologist and have been in many deep caves and mines. This is an accurate portrayal. It would be easier to rescue someone on the moon than some one trapped in a collapsed mine thousands of feet down.
So very sad... my daddy was what they called the demolition man in the coal mines of Tennessee. So he was the man who set all the charges of dynamite. After setting a charge to go off, which would be fine, he's yell fire in the hole!! That was too give the men time to make sure they got clear of the blast... Memories of a coal miners daughter...
i feel like if humans were in this situation they would have spent the whole movie debating on who to eat first.

We got to tour the mine where this was filmed in Michigan. The pillar was left behind as a souvenir to the mine.
All have said how I feel. I come from people of West Virginia coal miners but my grandfather mined in Virginia many sad things I have seen on the news about coal miners getting killed in the mines. I strongly believe in a prayer tonight for anyone doing any kind of mining. Lord save them they work hard for their money and for their families Lord you know their hearts are full of love for their families and they do their best. God we all ask please protect our miners still to date digging God please bring the deceased ones please into your kingdom and lease let some souls come back someway back to their families. Thank you Jesus you are our Christ Lord, Amen.

"My hand's not what it used to be." In that specific context, is the single most dwarven thing I've ever heard. Also, I'm *so* curious what allows the dwarves to breath at deeper depths than humans can. Are they more fuel efficient with their air? Do they breathe a different gas? I must know.

This was often infuriating to watch, but mostly due to its greatness.
If you are interested in a drama, this is a good one. This is definitely not a Peter Jackson adventure time type of movie, despite what you might think from the title.

I've tried to watch this 3 or 4 times over the years and can't get into it. I absolutely HATE IT when people say, "I thought I was the only one, or I must be the only one." But in this case, it does seem like I'm the only person that doesn't like it. Lol.

What a great gem of a movie, Can't believe i havent heard of this one. Great acting. Watching this movie makes you feel like dwarves are real hahaha. Good stuff. I seen the ratings and reviews, i wont be paying any attention to that stuff anymore, this movie was way better than what the critics say. They would rate highschool musical better than this movie. Great movie
I don't understand why people don't like the ending. If they actually showed them being rescued, it would detract from the overall feel of being trapped in a mine as your resources slowly dwindle. (Also, if you turned on subtitles you'd see that it said "(digging)" before it faded to black.
The only feelings of being trapped when it comes to this movie was the fear that this movie had no end it is the slowest lackluster piece of crap that I've ever seen and it's just horrible

Left considering their situation. And left with the knowledge that the movie had given concerning events.
The movie's ending attempted to pull you into the movie. To become a part of the situation and wonder the outcomes.
At first i was disappointed in it. Then i realized that being left open ended meant anything was possible. And then i realized the intention of making you part of the movie.
Although the movie is a bit dull. The story is excellent. It's like a good book. You can't put it down because you have to know if they get out.... or not. And then you get smacked at the end with no answer... lol.

I am liking the plot but difficult to follow being in a cave it is dark so hard to see the characters at times. I had to turn the brightness up to maximum on the screen.

If the overly dramatic music at the end wasn't so loud, could easily discern the sound of picks and shovels.
SPOILER.......!!!!!!...... do not read if you do not want to hear about the lack of an ending. the Dwarves are sitting and their last light goes out. the end. No Sequel, no explaining, just the end, they are stuck in the dark, still inside, the end. no sequel, good movie if you do not mind no ending and no Sequel to end it.
