In my case, regular practice really worked! ex. start picking from 6th string 1-2-3-4 fret, then 5th string 1-2-3-4......, and after finishing 1st string, move to the 1st string 2-3-4-5, then 2nd string 2-3-4-5..... like this but without missing any note. And, make it faster and faster to get used to it. It may look like a left hand training, but it's also a right hand training. After several months, I think you will find yourself getting a lot better. I hope this can answer your question.
