A local Shetland Fisherman is stranded on the cliffs of Sumburgh, near the lighthouse. He needs shelter, so seeks to find some. Along this path to safety, he finds something which stirs his soul... I hope you're all well ❤️ This is a really lovely story. An announcement coming soon with regards to RUclips memberships! Best wishes, Sam x
Thank you Sam. A Light in Michigan (USA) similarly to yours described had been my sanctuary for years of storms and sunsets and glorious days...now a treasured memory. Always a Keeper.
I finally got to hear the entire story. It was magic for me for sleep but I wake up many times so I restarted the story in different places. This one was absolutely amazing. The story has a heart touching twist and I loved the production!!!
The Lighthouse 🌧always wanted to spend a night in one - felt like I was on the journey with the fisherman, truly brilliant work 💤🌬 when he knocked on the door I woke up but was so pleased to be going inside - totally love your work
I enjoyed the story with the sound effects. I felt that I was right there battling the elements and relieved to find shelter on the proverbial dark and stormy night. 🥴 We would have been helped by having a dog like Claire, the Scottish Deer hound who won The National Dog Show in The U.S. two years in a row!! She made history for that, and was complimented on her graceful walk. No doubt, a great companion on any adventure!! 🐕 Keep up the good work! 👍
I love to hear the rain in the background. Please keep up the good work, I love this and I'll keep listening to the rest of your sleep stories. Thank you so much for helping me sleep 🌜🌟💖
I'm really suspicious that you are an agent for the Scottish department for tourism. If a bunch of insomniacs land in Scotland we'll know why ;) Maybe my Scottish roots talking to me but sounds like an awesome place to travel!
I would really really REALLY love it if you were to make these all available without background sounds. I love how you've added the sounds, they are not too loud, they fit in well. My issue is that I am hard of hearing, I keep the volume as low as I can while still being able to hear your voice. Which means I cannot hear the sounds. Because of that, there is a lot of dead space, which always ends up waking me up (I listen all night). When I'm doing better, I plan on being a Patreon supporter, it just isn't in the cards just yet. I've been following you since your second, or third video. Thanks, Tera
Hello Tera! Yes, I know your name very well from the early days.. :) I've loved your support along the way, thank you. I do completely understand your point and trust me, I really do everything I can to cater to everyone's needs. I will do my best to create some stories which would fit this - I can assure you. There are a few difficulties with making duplicates of stories, especially when timing is factored in - these stories are not particularly long, so I would be nervous about removing most gaps between sentences. They resulting story may only be 15-20 minutes long as a result. This may be OK with you, but I'd be a little apprehensive. There is also the added time of making a second version and or / editing the existing one which I have very little of as it is. Again, I promise you I will try my best to create a couple of them in the coming months, just for you and whoever else would like them. :) Sam x
Hi Tera, I know you from over on Dan's channel! Small world! I know Dan said it really messed up his channel when he released both a sound effects and non sound effects versions of his stories/meditations at the same time, which was why he created a whole seperate channel just for them and moved them there. The second sound effects channel never took off, despite a huge time investment, and now he's slowly moving them back. These poor creators are damned if they do, damned if they don't. Dan had people begging for background sounds for ages and when he finally did it, he got major grief for adding them in and RUclips stopped promoting him. And he spent so much time trying to please everyone that he got burnt out. They really do spoil us here and invest so much more time creating these than we could ever imagine. But it sounds like your situation is making it frustrating for you to find the right fit. I'm sorry you struggle with that. I've heard of people listening to two tracks at the same time using 2 devices. The brain confusion helps them to blank out and sleep well. Not useful if you want to enjoy the story but guess if sleep is the goal, it works for them. Have you tried something like that?
@@ellenh278 Dan's stories are perfect, in my opinion. I am not a fan of when he adds music and/or sound affects (which he still does from time to time on the other channel, btw). I understand why it affected his channel negatively. Most people had become very fond of his recordings because they did not have sounds. It was actually a small portion of the people that had asked for background additions, few of those were regular followers. I love the pauses in his recordings as well. I don't have any issues with Dan's recordings that don't have background sounds lol, and continue to support him as I have for many many years. He has absolutely mastered the art and isn't nearly as appreciated as he ought to be. 💜💚💜 His fault is that he has repeatedly tried to listen to ALL critiques and suggestions. That is what burned him out. He is finding good success again now with his rebranding and finally joining Patreon. Thank you for the suggestion of listening to two recordings. That would definitely not work for me. I do listen to the stories (I have nearly all of Dan's memorized, and the first half of Sam's as well lol). I rotate them so that a different one begins my night. I keep them playing all night long. Which is where I am finding the issue with Sam's recordings. I will continue to listen to Sam, I'll just have to have it set up that I only have one of his recordings at the beginning of my playlist, so that the sections that are supposed to have background music (but are completely silent to me) don't wake me. That is, until I find another solution, which I am also working on.
@@SnoozewithSam I understand the issue of trying to please everyone. It is impossible. I will mess around on my end, see if I can't figure out how to re-record without the pauses, or find a way to increase the background volume so that it doesn't sound completely silent (when you aren't talking). My oldest son has told me about an app that records only the audio of RUclips videos, perhaps I can figure it out with that. Thanks for what you do 💜
@@teramitchell4074 Again, I do totally sympathise with your position and completely mirror Ellen's words to be honest. I couldn't have put it better myself. I'd really love to make a recording style for every person but ultimately we need to create one (or maybe two) styles with conviction, otherwise we end up pleasing no one... I am determined that you should at least have one from me which you'd LOVE so please leave it with me. It would mean a lot to do that for you. S x
Oh my, you are getting hit by serious storms there now though, yes? Hope you and your loved ones are safe and faring it well. (Love the adventure and message of perseverance in this one.)

I believe that it would feel like home. Orkney and Shetland embody rural Scottish life perfectly. S x
Yes lighthouse story. Was looking for one last night. And I looked up this lighthouse.
