How to grow ginger for an endless harvest!

I have been growing ginger this way for yrs & i love it. Fun thing is that the soil will smell like ginger too.

I assume growing tumeric is the same ? I see a lot of fresh Tumeric tubers in Asian shops Always thought they will not grow in UK ??? Maybe I am wrong ??
