Me too…and great selections. There’s a couple of albums called Croweology and The Lost Crowes 🐦⬛ which have many of these as demos or recorded slightly differently as well as other rare gems like Feathers, Wyoming & Me and Grinnin to name a few!
She gave good sunflower and cursed diamond two amazing songs love amorica those 3 albums southern harmony, amorica and three snakes holy shit they were good
This is my favorite song by them. Saw them for the first time when they toured for this album. Seen them a half dozen times over the years. Such a deep dive getting into them.
Awesome choice! A true fans favorite. This one reaches into the soul for sure. One of their best. There are so many great Black Crowes songs throughout their catalog it could keep you busy for a long time. Their best songs never got airplay but their legion of concert going fans just know and appreciate them all the same. The gave us some great music for a time. Other songs that have that spiritual vibe going on...are "Sometimes Salvation" and "Virtue And Vice" and "Go Tell The Congregation".
In my opinion they're best song. On the last tour they played the whole 1st album in it's entirety AND this song in the encore. It was outstanding. This is a song they HAVE to play.
This album was slower and more soulful than Shake Your Money Maker, so you are spot on about the slow jam nature of it, and at times feeling spiritual. SYMM is their rockingest album, this is their best slow album.
YES!! The lyrics “Do ya hear me breathing, does it make ya wanna scream? Did ya ever like a bad dream? Yeah, sometimes life is obscene.” Freakin’ crazy good!
I requested you produced...thanks Biz. My next BC suggestion would be Soul Singer or My Morning Song or Wiser Time (I had to come back and add this third one because it's a super cool attempt at rock country fusion that sounds better than any country song I can think of).
When I first started listening to the Crowes in 1990 after their debut album (and have not stopped), my first thought was they reminded me of a cross between Rod Stewart and the Faces and the Stones, so you are not wrong picking up on a Stones influence in there.
In an interview w/ Rolling Stone, in 1991 (i think), Chris brushed off the suggestions that compared him to Rod Stewart. He said something like "it's so ovious that I'm a Steve Marriott rip-off. He's the man". I think that his vocal style is more Marriott, but when you see him Live, he definitely moves like Rod or Mick. Either way, I do love him and the crowes as a bit of a 70's rock throwback.
@@cindyfalstrom7231Oh I can certainly see the Steve Marriott similarity there too now that you mention it, and of course he would know! 😂However, the overall sound of the Crowes is what I was thinking of when comparing them to Rod Stewart and the Faces specifically. To me, he and the band sound more like the Faces than Humble Pie. Interestingly, Marriott was also with the Small Faces. Either way, Robinson is/was soulful greatness. I’ve seen them a couple of times and loved the shows. Good to see they are passing the torch to the likes of Blackberry Smoke. Another great band with Charlie Starr on vocals.
@@midnightrambler7716 I do love Small Faces, Faces, Humble Pie, and EARLY Rod Stewart. I also love the Crowes because they remind me of the style of the early 70's rockers I listened to in my youth. I am not familiar with Blackberry Smoke, I will take a listen. Thank you ✌
Blackberry Smoke are also out of Atlanta and kind of reminiscent of a countrified version of the Black Crowes. Chris Robinson actually helped them come up with their name, or so I heard. I have all their CDs so far. Wanted to see them 4 years ago and it got cancelled last minute by Covid 😢. I would suggest starting with their live acoustic video of Ain’t Much Left of Me (from Southern Ground Studios) followed by One Horse Town, Ain’t Got the Blues, Pretty Little Lie etc…that should get you down the rabbit hole enough! 😂 cheers 🍻
There is a namd named Third Day. they have a song called Blackbird that is a warning to the Black Crowes that they can't keep living life the way they were. You should check it out
I was a bit out of the loop popular music wise during the 80-20's, so have missed out on alot. One reason I love to listen to music reaction channels to learn about good groups and songs. Two of the relatively new groups that I have come to love are Black Crowes and Rival Sons. I think I love these bands as they are more reminiscent of style of the 60/70's blues rockers that I came of age to. Both Chris Robinson of the Crowes and Jay Buchanan of Rival Sons are both amazingly soulful singers, but also can rock your socks off ! Have you covered Rival Sons yet? I think I will pick out one for you to taste at your leisure ✌
👍 Their best tune. When they first came out I said, 'Sounds like, if The Stones came from Alabama' ZZ Top - Sure Got Cold After The Rain Fell ruclips.net/video/X4jyfV_-WAw/видео.html Billy's most soulful vocal...
The album is a masterpiece
If you want to go to church with the Black Crowes, then check out “Seeing Things” if you haven’t already. So much soul in that one!
100%
The version from Freak N Roll live is incredible! The slower tempo, with the horns!
Probably my favorite song by them. That entire album is a masterpiece.
This album is superb. Not a bad song on it.
Those two lady's on backing vocals toured with the group several times. Great voices.
This is my jam here. I have followed the Crowes since 1990. This may be my favorite song of theirs. Other greats are NO SPEAK

Title Song.

Crowes are the real deal.

Outstanding!! Probably my favourite Crowes song. They played it on their 30th anniversary Shake Yer Money Maker tour.
Dang! I love this band.
Black Crowes-Soul Singing ✌🏻
One of the greatest songs ever created.
In my opinion they're best song. On the last tour they played the whole 1st album in it's entirety AND this song in the encore. It was outstanding. This is a song they HAVE to play.

The Band that owned the 90s and they weren't Grunge or alt rock
Luv these guys! Great arrangements, and decent poetry.
What a great band.
These guys are great to just ride to. Descending and Bad Luck Blue Eyes Goodbye are great songs with smooth blues feel.
Yeah, they’ve got some of the best ‘driving through middle of nowhere’ music ever.
Fantastic song. I loved the whole album!
I requested you produced...thanks Biz. My next BC suggestion would be Soul Singer or My Morning Song or Wiser Time (I had to come back and add this third one because it's a super cool attempt at rock country fusion that sounds better than any country song I can think of).
This video is worth checking out too. Really nice.
YAY **Luvit** More **Black Crowes!!!** have not watched yet just **Excited** heh
" Sometimes Salvation "
Great choice, Biz. Keep 'em coming.

all the songs on this album are masterpieces recommend the first track "Sting Me"
One of my favorite crowes songs.
This and sister luck are both amazing compositions
The Black Crowes have been a favorite of mine since the 90's. This song; to me, it seems to be about the push & pull of a tempestuous relationship.
This is imho their best track good reaction👊

Try Sometime Salvation.
If it weren't for Stevie Ray Vaughn and the Black Crowes, I may have never survived the 80s
Try out "Descending"
One of my favorites! Great analysis!
