G30 5 series looks somewhat similar with all the benefits of a bigger size.
All the BMW’s look terrible at the moment. This one looks like a lexus or a toyota. 🤣
@@AbcD-td4ml Are you kidding? The 3 line looks much sharper than the older model line and the new M3 especially looks much better than the old M3.
As one of your friends from Canada you mentioned I can confirm this is the best car I have ever owned. Picked up mine in Alpine White last week. We have the more powerful version but it is gets amazing fun economy on the highway. 5.1 Litres/100 kms on my commute this morning. I never imagined I could get that it in a car with almost 400 hp. In just about every respect it is the perfect fit for me.

@@autogefuehl It truly is awesome. And I tried the C43 AMG and the Audi S5. This was easily the one for me.

@@borinvlogs It looks a lot like the legendary E46, remember the E46 didn't look "aggressive" but it has one of the most timeless car designs ever.
Now that's a good looking BMW again. Probably the second nicest in the range now after the 8-series coupe

Great review! Definitely took your videos into consideration and I've had my M340i for about a year now. I love it! Agree that the adaptive suspension makes a difference for daily driving, and I'm happy to have the xDrive because it rains a lot here. Only quality issue is some rattling in the interior dashboard & headliner that service cannot seem to fix. IMO the interior is far ahead of the C43 (but the Merc's exhaust is more aggressive).
Thank you Thomas you are elite as always. As always say the BMW isn't a car. It is a gifted machine! Especially this one (M///340i) it still prove the Ultimate Driving Machine title isn't it Thomas?

I really like Tanzanite Blue on this car. It reminds me of a more blue Carbon Black that looks sharp with the wheels and grill as well.

BMW have done a really good job this time they have made a car as I wished,very fast,enough comfortable.If you want you can drive it like sport car(what I like so much) and also use it for every day.

Entertaining and professional video - as always - with a great driving display. 3-er: sporty fun with some comfort! Nice interior quality - but the "options options options" equals great expense. Hot-pick: the PHEV? Perhaps, but would prefer a longer electric range with these PHEV's; and also they're too expensive! Many thanks Thomas and Jonas for the great detail, and for all the information.

@@autogefuehl PHEV is a popular option in California as it gives us HOV lane access. The extra cost is balanced as you get the fed and state rebates.

Thanks for the great review Thomas ! Besides I own this M340 , same color same wheels, Tanzanite is quite a head turner as well. The only thing I wish BMW adds is an option to suppress pumping of the fake engine noise through speakers.

I just bought this car in Australia 2nd hand (1 year old) in top condition. Wonderful car and very nice to drive but I use speed limit control otherwise I would loose my driver's licence in a day. Looking forward to a country road trip next week. BTW, the rear room is more than enough for our family as we are not as tall as the reviewer.

My friend just picked up a 2019 BMW 440i xdrive with the M performance. Bloody quick is my review. Why does it take you so long to review these cars Thomas??? ;) I also test drove the X3 M40i. Incredible how quick these cars have become over the last 6-7 yrs.
I'm starting to adjust to that new live cockpit setup. It's not as annoying. And you Thomas?

@@sturat18 Yup. Same engine and transmission though isn't it? My friend doesn't have the live cockpit though. He also got the sport exhaust M package 2 or whatever it's called. Not sure the next 4 series coupe will follow the sedan's design language though. Wasn't there some really ugly 4 series lurking as the re design?

Great review Thomas as usual. No cooling function for the seats, hate them during the summer in Canada. Recently drove 2020 7 series and didn’t like the gauge cluster design.

@@Zlaterrr its a company car mate, so i cant unfortunately. That said i have raced both an m2 and an m4 and managed to keep up... The m4 was in disbelief lol but i had to let him go as we were reaching silly speeds.
I got one of these in rear wheel drive. Got 0 to 60mph in 3.79 seconds. On stock Pirelli Run-flats.

Can anyone tell me that do those front kidneys have the feature that those rails (or what ever they are officially called) inside there open and close depending on the current temperature?? 🤔 So you don't have no need for the wind protection in winter.

I’m not so sure about adaptive suspension feel. Because you can’t switch springs rate(obviously), and still they had to make it work with different damping rates for dampers. So not a single mode actually works in complete harmony (springs + dampers) because of this adaptiveness. What you think about it?

My X3 M40i rides rougher than I would like. Did you say the the adaptive suspension in the M340i reduces the roughness/harshness of the ride and if so how much is the difference? Thanks.

The M340i xDrive starts around €50,000 in the US (about $56k). Fully loaded, still only around €60,000. Damn things are cheap here!

Did this car come with the Michelin Pilot Sport tyres are did you fit them yourselves? BMW normally fit runflat tyres and I didn't think these Pilot Sports were runflats?
