It's awesome to see Phil Mickelson speaking in this way. True authentic golf fans are so happy for him and yes, he has changed the landscape of golf for the good of everyone worldwide who plays and enjoys the game.
I finally watched liv this weekend and it was actually fun to watch. Having everyone finish on different holes and the team competition really made it interesting. Plus DJ made an epic eagle to win.
Phil hasn't been flying so high on the course this year. His best finish all year is a T18 at the Saudi International back in February. However, his off the course game has changed professional golf permanently, both good and bad.
I hope liv does 4 v 4 scramble match play tournament style to see how low golf pros can go in a format we all know and love. Wondering if they could go 20 under per round.
So, Phil can play exhibition grin/giggle golf, finish near the bottom of the leaderboard, collect his money, and head off to Vegas! Oh, well, c’est la vie!
I think hard for Phil to show consistent!! Face it hard to walk the damn course after 40 or so even less age than that so he is going to tire pyshically and then game will lapse but on a given week where bio rythyms up he could well win a few!!
Another exciting LIV tournament. The leaderboard chocked full with big names on the final round makes it even better. Just don't see that on a PGA tournament.
Hi Phil, nice leg's for an old bloke. Can you please ask Mr Norman, if there is any chance of a second liv tour. That would be 2 54 teams. End of the year a team event between them.
Phil’s joy is relatable because we understand the difference between how it feels if our voice-thoughts and feelings-is ignored and when it is heard. The spirit of LIV players parallels that of the oppressed after being liberated. That’s why the oppressors work to smear LIV players by charging them with reckless greed. While LIV is clearly more sensitive to the workers, the players, the next question to be raised is, What about a player-owned, player-managed league? They can employ as an independent contractor a management team oversee this worker-owned operation. The players, who are the product, don’t need owners. That, I propose, is the elephant in the room.
Yes, I agree. Also people (many golf fans) do not think rationally on this subject. Players on LIV, like Phil, have boat loads of $$$, if you have all that going more $$$ doesn't mean as much as feeling owned by the PGA. What I got out of the early interviews with Phil was; he wanted to own his rights to his golf self and what he does other wise outside the PGA.
This is a very hard watch. Let’s be clear, the fans in general are not interested in Liv or how many millions Pat Perez is pocketing. The reason the tour found that money is because Phil has threatened the merit based existence of golf so it has had to react and no doubt dig very deep into its financial reserves. The fact Phil looks smug or vindicated is quite frankly insulting. As for “no commercials”, that’s because broadcasters with the exception of Fox will not go near them.
I’m disappointed hardly anyone is watching this on tv. None of the spectators are prepared to pay for the tickets. Give it time I think LIV will only get bigger more top ranked players will join. Eventually they will be able to sell tickets to the fans. The Saudi’s have very deep pockets I just hope the top players won’t leave LIV and go back to the pga tour as LIV doesn’t have world ranking points.
You're talking out your rear end. First of all it's not aired on TV, so what would possess you to make this up. Second of all, the tickets are selling out like a madhouse. Check out Dustin Johnson's winning eagle put of this last tournament and check out the thousands of people. It looks like a rock concert surrounding the hole. And yes the Saudi's do have deep pockets, so deep in fact that the pga has a large percentage of investments with them in relation to pga golf and has had Saudi based events since it's inception. It's hypocrisy on the deepest level and the united states government is an ally and is in bed with them, so where do you draw the line, because you can't have it both ways? I'm neutral on the topic. I think competition is good and has already forced the pga to step up it's game. I'm a little skeptical that the the liv tour will be able to be successful in the long term, but I'm hoping it could be an entertaining venue, but to root against it for so called ethical reasons is hypocrisy at the highest extreme.
I always liked Phil, a lot, like a lot of golf fans. His going with LIV changed all that for me. He sold out his morals for money. I don’t judge him for that. Greed is a strong motivator. And his desire to buck the PGA, even with what might be considered legitimate concerns, does not excuse taking Saudi money to make his point. I can’t listen to him or take his opinions seriously anymore. I know that there are lots of golfers and fans that still support him. LIV might have pressured the PGA into making some changes that benefit the tour but at what cost? Do we now just give the Saudis a pass on any human rights abuses? Look at what Putin has done recently in killing executives and their families who voiced their opposition to the war in Ukraine. Just like the way the Saudis govern. I just wish our golf fans in the USA could look past the first tee.
Are basketball players professional? The only pro sports besides golf that have pants are sports that have logical basis/reasoning for the pants (protection etc). Marching around a golf course in dress pants is ridonculous. It's pretentious... it comes from the days where only the wealthy class played the sport.
@@dinglbarry1275 You have no idea what you're talking about. Golf was invented in Scotland check out that weather.? It's a tradition like standing in the seventh inning in baseball. Tradition is what separates golf from all the sports
Not very professional golfing in shorts you would never go to the office in shorts . It's called professional golf but liv is a joke with partying music and shorts to. Why not have gambling to.
Golf is a sport and in no way are pants a contributing component to the playing of that sport... so it's absolutely asinine. It's called professional basketball, but they don't play in dress pants and you could keep going down the list of any pro sport. American football only has a type of elastic pants in the sense because it's necessary for the padding and the sport they are playing. These aren't medieval times and we don't need to up hold medieval traditions that have no logical basis.
@@dinglbarry1275 I don't know where you play dressing in golf has always been long pants but you like watching men's legs its ok watch liv I don't think it's professional and there not playing basket ball .
The sport of golf and Phil's ability to play that sport is what made him, not the pga tour's monopoly of the sport on the professional level. The players and golf at the professional level would still exist without the pga. How other organizations would have been or would be at promotion and building the sport is difficult to say. Would they havedone better or would they have done worse? We will never know, but we do know that another organization or organizations would have done this... so the pga tour didn't make Phil. That's so disconnected from logic that it's not even funny and it's a sinister way of thinking.
LIV golf will not survive. Has beens and wanna bes league of exhibition golf where ya get paid upfront. LOL and then sell out the honor and integrity of the "GAME" itself is the worst things these defectors could have ever done. People of honor will stay with the PGA. I personally will stick with Tiger, Jack, Rory, Finau, Justin, Scheffler, Rahm and on and on. Watching Phil absolutely sell his honorable legacy, for this, is really stupid in my opinion. 9-11-2001 the ABSOLUTE MOTTO was "We Will Never Forget" Guess they forgot???
@Theodore Clever LOL, sure beaver!! Thats why all the top players are still with the PGA where there is still honor and integrity, and some sense of loyalty to those who made them millionaires.
It's awesome to see Phil Mickelson speaking in this way. True authentic golf fans are so happy for him and yes, he has changed the landscape of golf for the good of everyone worldwide who plays and enjoys the game.
And, now he owns his tournament media rights to go along with his clear conscience
True authentic golf fans LOL any fan of golf is a true authentic golf fan! Idiot! Phil Mickleson is a traitor!!!
"It's great that they found a couple hundred million!!!" 🤣🤣🤣
This is the vibes you get when you show up to a new JOB after a promotion. Loving his vibes.
Excellent spokesperson for LIV👏🏽

Tiger confronted the PGA years ago, so they allowed the caddies to work in shorts.
