Hi Rick, I have a 2018 Z51 3LT and did have the dash delamination issue. It first happened on the piece closer to the front. The dealer rep called it a "hockey stick" piece. They replaced it on warranty. Subsequent to that the dash around the front defogger vent started to peel up. Again the dealer replaced it on warranty. The first job was 1/2 a day. The second job was 2 days. The dealer said that they had to take the whole dash out to replace the bad part. Just wanted to let you know that Chevy is standing by my 2018, even though it has a limited power train warranty due to my car having been a Spring Mountain car before I bought it. - Robert from Temecula California.
I have a C7 Grandsport automatic which I drove in manual mode alot. At Spring Mountain I ask a question about doing this. The instructor informed me that the computer is smarter than I am. As far as down shifting regularly on the street he said brake pads are cheaper than rebuilding the transmission. Took the Grandsport to a dragstrip in July 8.01 in the 1/8 mile in automatic 8.21 with me using the shift paddle. Rick and Chuck thank you both.
I love that new electrical architecture. My boot legged engine compartment led lights are a plug and play with only a ground and a trunk light connection. Lights when you open the door, the trunk, press the key fob or when you start the engine. Goes out when you close the trunk or shift and drive!
Good show, I have z51 primarily for the extra cooling, it get really hot in Texas and I would like to help my car operate at the correct temp. Thanks for all the great info!! Still great in 2024!

Rick/Chuck, you guys are awesome! I am one of the slightly disappointed 2020 group pushed to 2021, thank-you for keeping my dream alive and preparing me for the day I finally get it in my hands. Two questions, "Do you have to wait for the break-in period before you add the extra two quarts of transmission fluid, or can it be added before it even rolls off the lot? You have a customer you talked to on your VLOG talking about how he rolled into his driveway and got a notification to upload new software for his C8. I will be bringing my C8 back to Guam once I get it, can you explain how the system software update works from your home, versus taking it to the dealership? Is it through wifi or through Onstar? That frunk deal is fat fingers in the drivers door pocket when you use it to close the door instead of the door pull which is higher and farther back on the drivers door!

Rick and Chuck love this segment. It is very informative. My question, I have a 19 Grand Sport. I have an automatic transmission. When I first start off the car seem to hesitate or shift hard when first starting off. After a few miles it shifts much smoother. Should I be worried and have this looked at. Any comments would be great
@@RustyZipper Rusty, Thanks for the update. With potential auto transmission issues I was not sure if this was and indication of something else. It does make sense. I had a C6 with auto transmission and it did not perform the same way. thanks for the input.

i have a 2019 ZR1 with 28,000 miles...around 24,000 miles i got a brakes worn warning . brakes checked , they are like new ( Brembo) could not identify any individual bad sensor. i replaced all 4 sensors ,no warning for 4000 miles.. now getting Brakes Worn light again .....Do you have any ideas...im 86 years old and really enjoy my ZR1 and im going to put 100,000 miles on it.. thankyou Tony Elia ,Jupiter ,Florida

Rick my Vette asks me to change my oil after I had it changed in November, stored the car until July and in August I got the notification despite me only driving the car only 200 miles?!?! Will this affect my warranty?

Mike Davenport publicly broadcast that the four cylinder mode ruins elements within the engine. If that were true, why did GM make an economy mode that they've used for decades. If it were bad for the engine, why would they put it in? This responds directly to the issue you brought up with regard to that V4 mode. While you change the brake fluid, change your oil and filter and even talk to your dealer about the transmission fluid as well. AF

I was watching your Tech Tuesday just a few minutes ago and my wife, totally not a car girl, has been very recently watching a portion of them with me and today she asked me questions about you and Chuck. I explained to her who you are and what you do and that Chuck is your chief Corvette mechanic/tech. She asked me why you bother to make all these videos if you're a salesman in a dealership in Ohio. I explained to her that you're not just a local salesman but, you sell nationwide. She then, looked at me and said, when we buy our C8 can we buy from YOU and drive the C8 back to our home on the Gulf Coast of Florida? I smiled a big smile and said, we sure can! So, it looks like you're going to have another out of state order and visitor when 2022 rolls around, and I order my 2023 C8. Why 2023? Several reasons we can talk about when the 2022 order window for 2023 arrives. In the meantime, we'll be watching your Vlogs.

They put the second shift on today at Bowling Green 8-31-2020. The C8s are going to be rolling out faster then ever. 8,000 have already been built!

Completely normal, takes a few minutes to get that fluid up to temp

If you put an extra 2Q oil in the standard non Z51 car is it still ok to go round a track for fun, without causing warranty issues?
