I think this is the most beautiful costume you've made yet. I cannot believe how gorgeous and sparkly all the details are. You're truly super human!!!!
One way to help keep the form of the tutu is to hang it upside down. That way the tutu won't be constantly flopping down. That's how I stored my competition tutus. Really helped!
OMG YES!! She's gonna be such a great dancer. And your amazing skills are definitely a gift, lol. She's lucky to have an amazing mother like you! If she were to stick with ballet, I can just imagine all the beautiful costumes you'd make for her for ballet competitions, such as YAGP & Prix De Luasanne (I'm a ballet dancer myself, lol)
+Aimeewinterfun2 I was just thinking the same thing! She would probably save a little bit of money since she knows how to repurpose different types of items to make a great tutu and still be gorgeous and professional looking!
I know that you said you let lane watch what clips she can of the movies you make her dresses from (only parts that are kiddo friendly of course) did she get to watch any clips from this movie?? I'm having a hard time thinking of any clips that would be alright for her little eyes :S
Hi! I'm a beginner sewer and I'm having hard time back stitching (I broke my needle in the process) do you have any tips or maybe guess why that happened? You make such beautiful dresses for lane and you inspire me so much. Thanks :)
+daniella vlakancic Do you mean the stitching you do at the beginning and end of each run you do to secure your stitching and keep it from unraveling? If so, your machine should have a button or switch to reverse your stick and you just need to do it for a stitch or two to lock in the stitch. If your needle broke it could be for several reasons. You might not have had your needle in properly. Your needle may have been bent and it hit the plate and snapped that way. Your tension on your thread may be too tight and yanked the needle. Your foot could've been not locked on properly and the needle hit it. I would recommend getting a new needle, rethread your machine entirely, (make sure both your upper and bobbin thread pull smoothly and evenly without a struggle) then try again and see how it works.
+ferdalump yeah I tried to do it to keep it from unraveling. My upper thread has been harder to pull lately I'll try rethreading it and loosening the tension, thanks!
