Scale Trains gets my vote just for doing the SD40-2 in the Southern colors with the high hood. 😊

There are a whole bunch of companies like details associates and 3d company's that make detail parts ....you can make a Kato just as good.

Scale trains may have better detail, but the motor doesn't run as good as Kato... and after a month the loco will barely move. I don't think I'll ever buy another Scale Trains again... Kato for life!!

Really? That’s surprising I haven’t had any issues with how my Scale Trains runs, but I do know Kato has great consistency with how they run

@@NS_NScaler_NickI bought an Operator DC freight engine and it ran “ok” when I bought it, I was hoping it would run better after a break in period but it has just ran worse and worse. I would say I ran it probably 15 hours in a month. Never more than an hour at a time and not really at very high speeds. but now it wont even move. Idk if I can send it back for a repair? but I just dont have a lot of confidence in their motors at this point.

Yeah, I don’t really know anything about Scale Trains motors vs Katos motors but if you feel like it’s worth it I would contact Scale Trains directly about it to see if they can do anything to help you
