I think it’s perfectly fine to watch your own videos. The example of the lady having it set up 24/7 on repeat is clearly an abuse of YT with someone trying to game the system. I think RUclips can easily tell the difference so I wouldn’t worry about watching one’s own videos on occasion.
Do not join one of those sub exchange groups, to get views and subs, that will KILL your channel, spend more time making thumbnails and crafting titles. Also make more videos, practice and get better on camera. It will take years to get big enough to make any real money that would make you think you could do this full time. Just make content build your audience, focus on the money way later. Larry

I think there's a certain acceptable use, like, watch your video as an error check, I've had to watch, delete, and then re edit videos before because there have been issues, Copyright Claims being a main one. (My Star Trek reviews do sometimes get autoclaimed by Paramount, so I have to get a bit creative with cuts and edits when showing scenes and voice from the shows.) There is a 'Spam views' and 'Spam subscribers' mechanism that checks and rechecks things and deals accordingly. But I'd imagine this applies more towards when the Google systems detect traffic from Clickfarms. I'd always thought that YT removes and verifies such views and hours. The urban myth was that RUclips rechecks and verifies your video viewcounts at 301 views. Happy Hogmanay! (The Scot's term for new years eve!!)

I always knew my viewing did not give me another view. Just viewed one of my videos. It didn't add another view to my count. So, what am I missing here?
It's less about views and more about the watch time. If you watch your own videos on repeat you can increase your watch time but iff it comes from the same IP address it becomes a little sketchy. Thanks for watching!
