Brings back memories from my childhood, family had a split screen barn door camper, then a T2 low light then the T2 high light. Then I went water cooled with the T25. Nice
Sorry I'm late to the party, guys! Looking forward to this one & I'm sure it will be THE straightest one on the planet... they're usually wobbly along the sides after restoration! Cheers. Leigh.
Just finished the exact same vehicle absolute rot box !!! also the customer didn't want any panels replacing just a tidy up (ie fibre glass and bog) , It looks pretty now but not in 6 months time. It will be nice too see it done properly 👍,. I think when you dig into it a whole can off worms will open up we'll see . Good luck you two great work .
It's surprising how popular these vans are, but even more surprising is the amount of rot they have. Having said that they are over 40 years old now, keep up the great work, really looking forward to this one.
Fabulous to see you start this project. I've just bought one exactly like this - 1979 in Blue too, my kids are in love with it already. I'll be stripping mine down in my garage at home, hopefully it's not as bad as this one 😂 I'll be doing an intro video on my channel in a couple of weeks' time 👍🏻 P.s. I'll enter your raffle too - will be lovely to have you do the job!! 🤞🏻
New project! A friend of mine is restoring a T2 (home comer from California) with sun roof (!) since about 7 years. Every time I ask I get the same answer: ready for the paint shop. I hope you are a little bit faster… Thanks for the video, I’ll stay curious. See you soon »»» Martin 🚗💨🇫🇷
Makes me miss my T2, which had lived in Western Australia most of its life and had almost no rust in it. Sadly sold off cheap before the prices went silly on them as it had a very sick motor and I had no money 😞.
That's pretty solid for a bay window! When I cut the front panel off mine I spent quite a while welding up the inner panels as where it had been leaking over the years it was rotting from the inside out! Check the underside of that cab door too, it will probably be rusty!
Hows it looking underneath, is that something that's part of the restoration? I can't wait to see how you tackle the repairs and of course one of your brilliant pair jobs
I always wanted either one of these (earlier model) or a Bug, growing up. Looking forward to the "revival". Was going to ask if you have estimated the hours it will take? Until you strip it back, and are able to find all the hidden stuff (rust, previous repairs), its probably a lottery.
I’ll eat glass before getting one of these vans we add one in the 80s and add it fully restored and it was still crap 😂 like riding a 😂rollercoaster😂 but look forward to watching and I love watching Lewis spray Thanks for your videos George the old man in Stoke 👍
This will be a great project to watch because that van is way worse than it looks, they always are. Hope the customer decides to see it through and not pack it in half way through like a friend of mine did. I look forward to all the content.
I can smell the rust from here lools like a nice project. Just put the screwdrivers away 😅 they can be disheartening watching them sink into rusty metal knowing there is more repairs needed

That looks like a solid one tbh 😄 That's defo a dashboard out job.
I feel a justkampers and vwheritage ordering marathon is imminent 😂 I know that pain all too well! Looking forward to the rest of the build.

It's going to be very interesting what we find when the paint comes off!
This is going to be soooo beautiful when you have restored it. I just love watching your masterful work!
VW didn't sort out the rust issues til the T4 but my favourite one is the T2. You can still get loads of parts for them too.

They are extremely cool but utterly terrible in every way.

OMG this thumbnail brings back nightmares of our T2! Looking forward to seeing you guys transform this though.

The dreaded tin worm 😱
Looking forward to the next instalments 👍
Paint off next! What will we find......

We'll see what surprises are waiting but aside from the obvious patches of rust it's really good for a T2!
I'll get my popcorn out for this build. Love a t2.
Going to be a great series this one!
Was looking forward to this from I saw it in the videos! Means lots of repairs!
There's going to be some great episodes coming!
@@WhitelandRestorationsare we going to be delving underneath?

This is going to be very interesting.
Yeah it's going to be a great one
Surprisingly little amount of rust - this is a good bus.
So far it's a lot better compared to other's we've worked on!
Needs converting to the lower front bumper and front panel whilst restoring
Owner wants it all original, just how it is now only rust free and looking the biz!
My dad is currently doing the same project right now peeps!
He can relax by watching our body resto while taking time out from his own 😂
"Can you dig it, oh yeah" 😁👍
Somebody grab me the screwshovel 😂

Wont be long till it's all back up to 100% and making people smile as they drive past!
Is the raffell also for people outside the UK?
My 1982 Ford Transit MK2 has the same problem around the windscreen as the VW T2.
UK only I'm afraid!
When's the fiesta supersport coming back?
Very very soon, filming has been underway!
Be prepared to find many bodges
Oohh yes, they do get crispy. Ask me how I know.
Can I ask what happened to the fiesta supersport? did you it get finished?
I'd love to enter the compo but I'd feel guilty if I won and turned up in either my ST150 or Mk3 Mondeo 😂
Doesn't matter what wins as long as it's road worthy and it's a car! All cars are welcome!

It's actually not too bad. Seen much much worse but we'll see when the paint comes off!

"tear down" Y'all ...... I thought they did 'tear downs' on the other side of the Atlantic .... not deepest Welsh Wales!
Opened a tin of worms there guys they are always far worse than they look, time to buy some tissues for all the tears.
Hopefully we won't need man sized tissues!
