I'm confused about the amount of hate the art is getting. Not only is Doi presumably the main character and demon designer now he's also been the person to do the art for the majority of the remakes in general for this series(soul hackers,persona 2, and a few others I can't remember) It's also pretty close to kaneko's style just missing the eyeliner and a few lines on the face. The only one I think actually looks bad is gore

Kaneko didn't get his art style set in stone until somewhere around the original Devil Summoner. I think Doi just needs to work on his demon design a bit. Otherwise, I think he's a fine artist. Oh, I almost forgot. She has a LEFT ARM GAUNTLET too. Yeah, head piece equipment, left hand gauntlet, futuristic suit, totally not like any SMT character(*COUGH-COUGH* SMT I and SMT II protagonist). A group of Black Demonica users who isn't part of our team can enter Schwarzwelt too, so why she can't be in there? Let's not forget there's STEVEN out there. Also, Demonica suit is technically a skin tight suit, albeit with additional pouches, armor, and head unit. Her suit only doesn't have the head and armor piece, but she has that gauntlet and headphone like equipment.
Because last time atlus decided to put in a new character for an expanded release she was named Marie and she was fucking garbage. So excuse me some people are a bit wary considering the track record here.
I normally don't like tsundere type character, but Marie is quite good to me in my opinion. I don't play Devil Survivor 2 Break Record since I don't have 3DS, but I do read some information about it. Marie is integrated into Persona 4 original scenario, while Miyako is technically "appear" on continuation scenario and not on original scenario, so I guess if you don't like it, you could just not play the continuation and think DS2 ends in that original scenario. This new character, Alex, is said to be related to new ending, so for now, it's safe to say for now that she will be not involved in three original scenario and ending(Law, Neutral, Chaos). It's like, "Here's new character that will have role for new ending. You don't like the new character? Don't play for new route and ending, just replay the original 3 scenario with additional upgraded content(music, voice acting, demons, battle system, and etc)", like that. Simple as that. I've played Law and Neutral scenario, and also only watch the Chaos scenario. Safe to say, I'm pretty satisfied with those three ending, and additional new ending character, scenario, and ending are welcome in my book.

Hmm, I'm intrigued. This was one of my favorite games on the DS, and I'm overjoyed to see it getting a remake, but I'm curious as to how they'll remake it. Using the old interface (which is dated now), would clash badly with the new production values, so they probably reused assets as a conceptual trailer rather than use the in-game footage (which is hopefully undergoing QA and polishing). The new character, Alex I think her name was, seems unusual. Her outfit and character design clashes with the more utilitarian and militaristic characters. Story wise, they'll have to do a good amount of rewriting to include her since the original had a very tight narrative that just doesn't have room for another major character like her (the major themes were always about the exploration of human actions and their confrontation with the greater world). Every character had a role that they helped pass through, they weren't as fleshed out or developed as, say, the Persona games, but they don't have to be. I can understand people's issues, if they don't rewrite the story, then the only way to feasibly include Alex would be to encroach the established ending paths, which would cheat the player of his or her agency (this was the major complaint with Marie in P4G; the plot had to bend itself to try and incorporate her into the narrative and character circle without disrupting the murder serial; they accomplished this by relegating most of her 'big' character moments to the winter, which was completely non playable in the original, whilst giving a lot of needed new gameplay mechanics and updates; don't know if Strange Journey can do the same)All in all, let's wait and see

Didn't know that 3ds is capable to run HD graphics and cut scenes. I kind of hated the original 240p resolution graphics. Even text were looking like a mess, but now, everything is crisp and clear like on Retina Display. Good Job Atlus! I like the art style, cut scene, battle mode but I hate Etrian Odyssey dungeon style design. I'll probably skip it.

I've seen it, looks like a lame attempt to fit in. She looks even more out of place with it. She looks like something you'd expect to find in some sort of sci-fi dancing or rhythm game.
