How? This looks like it was shot just the way "The Hobbit" was, the skin is too clean, the hair too manucured, the shots too sterile, the long shots look dreamy and almost cartoonish. It lacks the depth and grit of both the original GOT and LOTR. It looks cheap and overproduced, unfortunately.

They gave away the whole plot in that trailer. The series is something very different within the Game of Thrones universe, so I think they revealed everything to grab the audience’s attention and keep viewers from giving up on the series.
I could take or leave it, frankly. It barely relates to Ice and Fire in any way whatsoever.

@kyleh636 He probably meant it doesn't relate to the end game story of Ice and Fire re Jon, Dany, White Walkers, Dragons, Fall of King's Landing (if that is what happens) etc but then again neither did the ending of Game of Thrones. Dunk and Egg are pretty much self contained even though they are in the same world/ apart of the history. Summerhall isn't really all that relevant even with Rhaegar's birth.

Furthermore, he ate a wooden chair and got splinters in his clavicle. He got healed by Maester Aemon who is the older brother of Egg and the younger brother of the Prince you speak of. This was really good and faithful to the novella. Faithful unlike certain other show.
I just finished watching episode 1. I really like it. I'm just a bit disappointed by it's runtime, I mean 42 minutes... and the upcoming episodes are only 30 to 37 minutes long. Well, I guess it's short but definitely sweet.
And for once, a medieval show that actually looks like a medieval show. I'm sorry to say this, but this past decade, just about every medieval show I've watched is fully diverse, doesn't matter where you are in the world, every villager, peasant, Knight, Lord & Lady is diverse. NETFLIX's The Witcher is a prime example of that : Beautiful set pieces and decors, disorienting nonsensical story and DIVERSITY EVERYWHERE, ILLOGICAL DIVERSITY, IMMERSION BREAKING DIVERSITY. Amazon's The Rings of Power and The Wheel of Time (cancelled by the way, good riddance) are guilty of the same things. House of the Dragon did it as well, although to a lesser extent.
Here, in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, *so far* , you have LOGICAL DIVERSITY. Tanselle, the Dornish puppeteer (the one Duncan seems to fancy) and one of Manfred's prostitutes called Beony. That's it. The rest of the populace is Caucasian, as it should be. I have nothing against diversity when it is LOGICAL, when it makes sense. I hate diversity when it is FORCED.
Dunk and Egg, only been with them 30 minutes and already love them both, show has so much heart!

@jock8523no it is a pretty great adaptation of the novella so far while it’s too soon to judge as it’s literally the first episode and not much has happened besides introduce characters and backstory but it’s off to a strong start

A story that I thought house of the dragon would tell. I guess not. That was literally the sole purpose that I had while watching House of the Dragon and now it’s completely pointless unless they make a completely new show that finally shows the fall the Targaryen empire and the mad king and the rise of the seven kingdoms. That is the one story that I’ve been wanting to see forever and it looks like I’m never going to.💀💀💀

Not really happy the way they portrayed Ser Arlan.
I always took him as a stern but kind man to Duncan here he’s more of an asshole.
Duncan definitely has the awkwardness down which I feel is his character, but the pure heart that drives him.
What little we’ve got of Egg just feel like we’re going in the right direction with him and the expansions they’ve made other characters are looking good. I cannot wait for the next few weeks. I think this is gonna be good.
And of course, if this really takes off, hopefully we’ll get more Duncan/Egg story’s.
My hope is that Martin will give the notes he has for the other books he wants to write and gives them to the show run
