Hey man. Just to let you know the crossbow 2nd bolt does reduced damage. Also I think you can train shaolin monks in pergoda. You can supervise it too for 5 second train time. 😆
All of these new civs seem utterly broken so far, but there's still opportunities for things to change, and one can't forget that the whole point of Drongo's videos is to hype the civs strengths. In all of this, he didn't mention the stuff that regular China has that Zhu Xi doesn't (and I'm sure that if that was the goal of the video, he could make regular China seem broken too). Anyway, they seem cool, and I'm excited to see what they can do. Will hold my judgement on how powerful they actually are until I've taken the reigns.
I have noticed their short comings. Most of them lose some eco boost in exchange for military strength. Especially OoTD. And each has a pretty clear weakness even in these videos meant to showcase their strengths. Japan desperately wants stone, even with passive stone gain denying it hurts them a lot. OoTD has weak map pressure since they don't have a lot of units and each unit they lose is a big loss. Joan dying us very expensive for French and without her their army feels very weak, lacking a lot of their punch. Byzantine loses a lot of eco when their aqueducts are broken. So on and so on. Hopefully these weaknesses keep them in check as players learn how to deal with them. But it's still scary we'll see when we actually get to play with them
I was just watching a random game and I witnessed something that's going to catch some people off guard. Seeing a battle monk go for a conversion and thinking you can stop him using ranged units.
You know, skipping song dynasty and using the tang dynasty to fast castle/imperial is actually probably ideal given their song dynasty is good, but just going for the garden should allow you to get some actually elite fast castle timings for that monk spam. Sure the building discount, but also getting the relics with a monk that beats all the feudal units you would intercept the monk with.
I mean you probably want to go castle first before dynasty to keep the landmark reduction cost. It's a cool way to make it more appealing to age up first and let your dynasty catch up later instead of rushing dynasty.
Nah it really depends 2nd dynasty gives you a huge tempo boost. That discount on LMs is only 10%. Compared to the huge tempo from either cheaper TCs or production buildings/blacksmith /farms
@@08vinster Its 15%. I mean its essentially another 300 free resources with a faster castle timing. You can and should delay farms anyway. A 2nd TC is slower not faster, because you have to make the 2nd landmark first. You have to gather 395 extra resources before you get your 160 woods savings. Production buildings don't count! It probably comes down to the landmarks and whether or not you want them both asap.
Well you don't need a landmark discount if you win by going full Feudal spamming Zhuge Nu. It just happened to me and I just watched several random games where it happened again. I'm guessing it's the popular strat at the moment.
On paper it has a weaker economy boom compare to regular China. Losing the extra villager spawn in song dynasty and the 15% movement speed in yuan is very significant economy disadvantage that I don't think the new perk made up for yet. Zhu Xi probably has a very different game plan than regular China. The cheaper landmark bonus + shaolin monks (with the transition of song dynasty with cheaper farms) could play a huge role in grabbing relics and raiding. Having multiple officers allows quicker tech after age 4 and get the mid to late game power spike quicker. I think this civ is probably focus on a fast imp strategy that's mix with monk rush and cheap castle age raids. While current Chinese meta tends to focus on out booming your opponents.

Hey Aussie, your 10000 BOLTS does NOT double up your damage. this upgrade double up your arrows, BUT the second Crossbow arrow, does have only the damage of the Crossbow WITOUT any upgrades. you get 15 +7 and with 10000 BOLTS your second Arrow have 15 -6 damage.
Honestly the byzantine with mango towers and trample on catas seem like they'd steamroll anything. Think about it, its not just the fact you can demolish any backline siege, but you also avoid your units having to take time with encircling and utilizing full army dps potential. You trample in and straight, all your cata blob is doing damage. Backed by decent siege core this seems unstoppable
Gilded Knight is tankier (130 more HP and 1 more melee armor), IG does more damage with Ming Dynasty (up to+35% bonus dmg) . GK costs 280 food 200 gold vs IG 140f 140g. IG is overall better imo but it comes at the opportunity cost of other technologies.
