The memes are on point! I'm also a fan of having a session zero for characters and DM to talk about the campaign and what they can expect. That way you don't get an all spell caster party that dies when a Kobald breaths on near them.

Not very relevant 10 months later but Ginny Di has a vid about exactly that. You have think about that the social codes become different and that you have to skip the small talk and be more focused on the things that are happening. A tip is to have one channel for out of character talk and one for in character talk so that people can discuss without interrupting.
