Activision has been pretty lazy for years and I believe it's because they know they don't have to try anymore. People will keep buying these games regardless of the state
Also the color palettes in these map remakes are disgustingly tasteless, random bright over-saturated colors with no composition and no relation to anything else or any theme per level. Old COD4 2007 and MW 2009 had beautiful color palette choices.

They repackaged the maps, they repackaged the load outs, the games are half baked and all they had to do was prey on your nostalgia to get you to buy it. Now they don't actually have to put real creativity and effort into their games cuz you'll buy this garbage. Want the old maps? Play mw2 from 2009, you can still get TDM, ground war, and search games going til this day. It's a whole other topic as well, but to touch on it briefly, these aren't even literally the same maps, they altered them slightly, window openings go to your ankles, lots of "cover" is knee height at best now so you can't take advantage of good positions on maps like you could back in the day. It literally isn't better than what they released 14 years ago, and yet people buy it for 70 dollars when they could play their old copy for free, or buy it for 5 dollars at used game store, or buy it for 20 dollars from Xbox digital marketplace. Way cheaper than 70 bucks that you won't be playing a year from now
..and to see it on this Gen Console, absolutely beautifully done!!! I'll never forget randomly running into Quarry in a game of Warzone. I had no idea about the retro maps. It was SO beautiful...
Stopped playing cod for a couple years.. But omg didn't know all these maps were included.. these maps are bringing back so many memories. Most of these maps are the reason why I fell in love with cod back then in the first place. Just upgraded to a series x next im purchasing mw3. Think i'm gonna fall back in love.

The Campaign may be lacking but I'm honestly looking forward to multiplayer the most this time around even though I'm a Campaign guy. The fact that all the MW2 maps are coming back and all your stuff from the last game will be carried over is awesome! I also really appreciate that they aren't just copy and pasting the versions of the maps that were in Al Mazrah (quarry, terminal, rust etc.) over and instead they they are doing full remasters of the og MW2 ones. And since they gave us Strike And Showdown in the last game, I'm really hoping they bring back some more og COD4 maps as well. I would like to see Crash, Vacant and Broadcast make a return, as well as Overgrown, Crossfire, Chinatown, Ambush and so many others. And maybe even some og MW3 maps. Some of those ground war maps also look suspiciously like Countdown. If they were smart they would give us every single map from the new MW series in addition to ALL of the maps from the og MW series. Now THAT would be awesome! But who knows, I guess we'll see. 🤞🏻
The battle chatter is a nice detail in this game “I’m taking fire” throwing grenade” etc. compared to BO6 there’s loads in this which is a good thing. Seems like treyarch skimped out on recording far fewer lines of dialogue.

MW3 had some bangerrrss. I'm glad they brought these back even tho I doubt I'll buy the new game. There were things they did so much different with maps back then. They were less formulaic and better/less balanced. Some were just the typical 3 path but the ones that werent were bangers.

Is it just me or is the lighting and environmental detail wildly inconsistent in these remasters. Like, Invasion looks really good, straight out of real life war footage, then maps like Rust and High Rise look a little cartoony.
This is giving me Cold War vibes. Yes these old maps bring back memories when I first started playing but new maps would’ve been much better. Being creative should’ve been the goal. They could’ve started adding these old maps every new season.

yeeeee the og maps are really like "in the fog" with the rain it's really more dark/gloomy, on the remake there is rain, the cloud in the sky are here but it's like as if it were sunny! it breaks all the atmosphere of the original! (And it's not the only this maps that are like that..) The OG one got a really precise atmosphere ! it's not about my nostalgia ! Light is important asf, like in the best film, light need to be on point,if not, that can fucked up an scene ! Mw2 underpass had eerie creepy vibe to it that made look like the map was haunted by a ghost. I prefer that over mw3 underpass.
