  • Today, I'll show you how to replace the transfer case output seal on a 2020+ superduty. This process is extremely similar on all 4 wheel drive pickup trucks.

Thank you for the excellent video. My ‘18 just started to leak. Took me about 2 hours, since I hadn’t done this before. You saved me some serious money given a OEM seal is less than $40. Kept up the great work!

No ones perfect. Still unsure if I have the drain hole correct or incorrect.

Check you breather make sure it's not clogged with dirt maybe that's what was causing it to leak.

This exact seal leak was repaired under warranty on my 2021 F-350. The dealer also replaced the driveshaft because they said it was defective & would also cause the new seal to leak. Hopefully 🤞 not the case with yours ?

I doubt the dealer took the driveshaft off and tested it for proper balancing. Oh well, If I have to do this every 25,000 miles, it is what it is.

their not wrong. you cant paint that. it needs to remain smooth so that the seal wont tear as it slips through it. obviously you dont want it to rust either though so id suggest just coating it in a small layer of grease and keep an eye on it during your oil changes. good video though thanks.

My F250 had same leak took it to dealer had it replace under warranty so I checked to see if white mark was on bottom? Nope it was on side so the service guy told me it’s an Air Cavity … it’s supposed to release air as you put yoke on?

Is this the same to do for the front output shaft seal?
