    Composer: Matthew Larkin
Text: Charles Causley & Latin hymn “Ave Maris Stella”
Matthew Larkin is a well-known Canadian organist and choral conductor. He studied with John Tuttle at the University of Toronto and Nicholas Danby at the Royal College of Music. He has led the music-making at the Anglican cathedrals of Toronto and Ottawa, and at the churches of St. John the Divine in Victoria and St. Thomas’s in Toronto. The text of “Sailor’s Carol” is by the 20th Century Cornish poet Charles Causley, to which the composer has added a portion of the Latin hymn celebrating Mary as “Star of the Sea.”
