I have three of these sitting in my garage, one in every flavor (red, blue and red white blue). I did the restorations myself. This is a bike that Honda should do a retro version.
They did. Look up nighthawk 1100
I have 2 also 1 red and 1 blue, great bike to ride.
One of the best low maintenance Rice Rockets out there !!!
One of the bikes that always caught my eye at the dealership, but I never bought.
That blue/black combo is sharp
Same always thought it looked like the baby brother of my 82 CB900F but that thing ran until the 2000, loved that blue n black.
lol I feel ya, back in 1985 this was the bike I really wanted, but couldn’t afford, so I bought a CB650 Nighthawk instead. Over 30 years later I finally did get that Nighthawk S, it’s still an awesome ride. Ironically now I’m looking for another of those 650s which are even harder to find than the 700SC!
Same! I was cruising a little CM I picked up for $450 and my buddy had the Nighthawk S in black/blue...Jealous!!
Had 450 when I was 16. Always wanted the 700s. Never got around to buying one.
Same here! That was my first street bike and I went from cali to Stugis, then to daytona and route 66, grand canyon and never had an issue other than my fuel tank rotting out the bottom... quick weld to the rescue!
The Nighthawk 700s and the GPZ 550 have always been two of my most wanted bikes I regrettably never bought.
I owned two GPz 550's, (0ne when '82, when I was 18 and the other when back the early 2000's) and I can tell ya... the power-to-weight ratio was ahead of it's time and was a daily rider with that five-gallon tank.
I had an 86 in red. I loved that bike. I put a lot of miles on it. I never see one now.
That was one of the best looking '80s bikes. Sadly nowadays one needs be a millionaire to purchase the classics.
As far as classic Hondas go, I think these are still under valued.
@@stealthd16 As a person who in the mid '80s bought an H1 500 and a Z1 for $500 each, both daily riders I disagree. I just want the affordable days back.
@@bobstupaksvegasworld4098 you do realize this is 2024, right? That 500 bucks today is about 1800 in today’s dollars. Plus back then that was a NEW bike, so even then you wouldn’t have paid 500. I’m clearly referring to today’s market for classic bikes. However I do feel your pain trying to buy now, what we’re cheap used cars or bikes in out past. While I do agree that the collectible market is way overpriced, I stand by my opinion that the Nighthawk S is under appreciated. These were rare, extremely well built, and far superior to its direct ancestor, the CB750K, which are readily available and selling regularly in the 7-10k range. As I have one of each in my collection, and spent considerable time searching for nice unmolested examples, (I feel lucky to have only paid $2k & $3k respectively about 10 years ago), so I’m pretty confident in my opinion. That said at the $5995 Buy It Now asking price I do feel this dealer is justified in seeking a premium for this particular bike.
... And on the 7th day, God created Facebook Marketplace.
@@GabStLaurent I don't do that but, a friend showed me a very nice looking '99 Yamaha R7 for $1600 on that site.
Love it, Ive done alot in my life worked on every continent, doing some cool ass things, owned many bikes, trucks and cars. But id really like to visit your shop to top it off!
I had two of these in Canada. They were 750's here. Just an awesome bike... Loved them.
The Honda Nighthawk S has literally been one of my favorite bikes of all time. I could probably say it's honestly in my top 5 street bikes as far as being a favorite. It kind of reminds me of my 86 Monte Carlo SS… It wasn't the best at everything but it was damn good at a lot of things and the look never goes out of style. Still looks as sporty today as it did back then!!! It really is timeless in the looks department!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅
I’ve owned a good many Nighthawks. The 700S was my favorite. I also feel the 700S was a huge game changer for Honda back then as well. While I love the newer design of the 90’s 750 Nighthawks, you can clearly see where they cut so many corners to cut production cost down. The 700S isn’t like that.
Yup, the later 750 was built to a low price point. These S models had some nice convenience features and the bits and pieces were nice. Foot peg mounts, for example, were tasty looking aluminum pieces. I still loved my 750 though
That bike is my favorite motorcycle ever . I had one the same color wish I would have kept it.
I just love everything you do can't get enough of your knowledge and driving skills 👌.
I remember these. I had a Suzuki GS850G and a Honda V-45 Magna.
I have an 84 I ride any chance I get! 15k miles and beautiful. Definitely a perfect bike, one of Honda's best. Might be selling her soon
How much did in buying it text me the info 860-916-9784
Went to the Honda dealer to buy the '84 version of this, and found out that they still had a silver '79 CBX still in the crate.....
and.... ya know 😏
I know a guy named Jim in Cincinnati that get trailers full from all over the US in very bad condition and really lays out CBXs
That is one gorgeous and badass looking bike. Love the cafe style windshield on it, along with loving the exhaust note. Also loved the handgrips heater. I've never seen one of those before. Your buddy Tim took damn good care of this beautiful classic bike. This bike was made in a time when Honda's had the most beautiful paintjobs.
This is the year of the nighthawk. I'm building a resto-mod 84' in blue first start coming up shortly after the rebuild. Old man sold me a lemon but I still loved the bike!
Had one in black, back during and after my high school years in the 90s. Great bike.
my first street bike got the same one brand new in 1985 had a small black fairing on the front of the bottom pipes same color combo black and blue. I loved that thing so much I got it right after marine corps boot camp 1811 tank crewman m60 A1.
Sweet 700! I'm gonna get mine on the road this year.
Had a 1983 Honda 550 Nighthawk. The first brand new bike I owned....still have dreams about it today.
I have a 450 sc one of the best bikes honda ever made.
This is an exciting bike because it has classic styling along with sport bike performance. I wish more bikes were made that way. 80’s bikes are awesome
great looking bike!
Those vintage machines look so much better than some of the crazy styling of the modern bikes.
That’s why retro models are popular.
They starting going too radical with the lines of back fenders and mufflers.
My opinion of course but that’s a nice looking Honda.
This was the Street bike that got Me interested in motorcycles, but Still never owned a Nighthawk S .👍
I had a red one my buddy had the blue one I wish I still had mine we put supertrapp 4into ones on em they are great looking and riding bikes and maintenance free
Just about 7 years ago I was offered a 750cc blue one in mint condition, very low mileage. Just no battery, no test ride.
In The Netherlands for 750 Euros.
And then I didn't even think it was a particular bargain...
So I went and bought a much more expensive XS650.
Sweet bike ! Tkx for sharing Ken!
Had that poster on my wall, dream bike, love the blue!

Very nice motorcykle. I didn´t know him until this moment.
Sweet bike tkx Ken!
Well no chain to worry about just change the oil no valves to adjust either. Those bikes have a fun top end too. 12sec 1/4mile. I want it. Only thing it needs is a larger tank!
Nice video! I currently am looking at the EXACT same bike IN MY GARAGE!!! I bought a Kawasaki Z1-R in 1978 off the show room floor….. rode it for 60,000 miles and like a fool sold it years ago. This Honda came up for sale locally and it reminded me of the Z so much I had to have it… It’s a fantastic piece of machinery and looks timeless.
This, along with the RD03 Africa Twin, are my favourite Hondas ever made.
Nice bike mr K.you can tell it's still cold about 40 here in Unionville va.
I bought a blue one in 84 brand new outta the box, best bike I ever owned. I'd take that one if it's what I paid for mine $3400. Lol
Is considered a antique, where does the time go. Still looks cool to me.
Had one great bike put 15 thousand miles on it same blue should have kept it still have a 4 in to 1 with super trap if someone needs one
We could use the pipe 860-916-9784 we are restoring one now
Kaptain, man thats a sharp bike. thx!!
A old racing buddy bought one of these brand spanking new in 1985 and as I remember it's a shaft driven bike which makes the rear end slightly rise when you throttle up hard on it ! Rode it from frederick Maryland all the way to OCEAN CITY MARYLAND in the late afternoon early evening which normally is about a 4 hour drive . Made it in just under 3 hours 😂 needless to say I was hitting well sustained
speeds at well over 100/110mph in open areas in route to the beach .I mainly remember just how smooth and comfortable it was on that ride .later that year my buddy ended up totalling it in a bike accident when a car pulled out in front of him ,he was OK but that bike was
COMPLETELY DESTROYED !
Awesome bike man
1985 Honda Nighthawk CB 700SC😮 awesome film and Ronnie❤ sounds awesome I love the black and blue it fits it so well especially the black frame gorgeous Kaplan Cycles number one God Bless America❤

And I thought I wanted a newer nighthawk 750 now it's gotta b a 700s
Had an 83 that I turned into a hardtail bobber
I thought it was an imposter at first. The Shoes threw me way off.
Broke my leg last week it's swollen up can't fit in a boot
@@KaplanCycles damn I didn't know. Get well soon my brother
Красивый мотоцикл
underrated
Is this motorcycle fuel injected
No sir, 4 carburetors tuned and synchronized.
Love it
Blame H-D & big daddy government protection for this bike. The rest of the world got the CBX 750. Nice though.
