Good on them for making it right and fixing their product. Very true that most people cash out and bro down. They just don't care after they have your money, but that is everywhere.
I got to be honest...... I like this. And I love that they took on the issues and fixed it. Thats gains a lot of respect.... Plus i really like that wood front...
Thanks for doing this. Great to see them working to improve their product.
Good to see they've fixed it and it's also good to see you give both the clock and it's creators the positive review they deserve.
I think I'd place it on a shelving unit where it would hopefully get enough shade to work properly during the day time and be an interesting feature on what is a fairly dull corner of my room, regardless of the time of day.
neat piece of tech! happy to see all of those issues addressed, and best of luck with their project!!
Props to them for sorting out their product, even big companies don't seem to always care about their products as much.
Never appologise for being honest and accurate Matt, it's one of the best features of your content. Glad that things have improved and the creators are sorting it, that's how things should happen.
Good on you for your honesty and integrity in all your vids; and good on these guys for responding the way they did.
Damn, if only ALL the internet content worked like this...
Yes, sure, "to a family member". The 8-bit guy won't be happy with another package after the karaoke tapes and teddy bears.
omg he's gonna send it to David :)
8-bit guy needs another house just to store the insane amount of stuff people send him.
Ayyy glad I'm not the only one that's seen that video 😉
@@barnstormer322 *these videos ;)
Good on Gixie folks, this is the kind of company I like to deal with. Thank you for your video.
great to know they took the time to address the problems and fix them
Not only was it nice to see them owning the problems you had with the first one, but the speed of their response (judging from when the first video came out) was fairly decent too. These guys definitely deserve some credit for both sorting the problems out and the speed with which they tried to demonstrate they'd rectified the issue!
Wouldn't give a broken clock to his worst enemy. That's cold, man. Cold.
I'm glad they got it right this time around! I got the impression that you'd like and recommend the first one if it worked, and of course it now works and works well!
Thanks for the updated video response. It seems rare that these companies update theyre products from the reviews. But its great to see them trying to make a cool better. Also gives you a more professional reviews with the updated version of the product and your work between you and the manufacturers. Thanks
Knowing about it being made by students would of been a good thing to have known in the first video as contex makes the failure more forgivable. Kids learned about the necessity of thorough R&D.
Very decent of you to show off the new version. Clearly no bias one way or the other.
Very cool to see they got their shit together, so many kickstarter-y companies don't bother. They should be commended!
Mmmmm. Wood. *LGR has entered the chat*
That came out all wrong... Ewww.
The Crisco avatar doesn't help either.
@@ml.2770 I thought it made it even better lol

@@Diggnuts it came out all right, alright
An outstanding and fair re-review. Thank you. Very beautiful product.
Very nice bit of kit, and great to see a manufacturer improving a product from honest user feedback. Would be perfect in a dark corner of my mancave.
That new Gixie Clock looks amazing. A little refinement on the apps and they're set!
I don’t know what brought me here but Im glad I did.
They came through with a really nice product. I'd call it a thing of beauty, both aesthetically and technically. Bringing a new product to market is always a challenge, even more for an "oddball" item assembled by students. Good job!
This new version looks good.
Dear Santa....
@@free_gold4467 No, which is why I jokingly put "Dear Santa" It would make a nice, but non-essential, present.
Do you trawl You Tube looking for comments to make facile responses to?
@@MadBiker-vj5qj fucken burn, well done mad biker.
Glad they improved it, cus it's a really likable idea, so it's great to see a happy ending. Being able to change the digit colours too was a nice added touch as well.
That timer function would make this a brilliant piece of kit for a supervillain making a giant bomb with a dramatically visible countdown.
I like the redemption arc here, I am a big fan of RGB unicorn vomit and this seems perfect to add to my desk.
God, I hope sitting through that sickeningly sweet Xmas advert by John Lewis for two bloody minutes was worth it for you! I could’ve skipped, but I thought I’d be nice today.
Hi Mat. Much better product this type round, and fair-do's to the makers to fix the problems, and to hold their hands up to getting it wrong. I might well buy one, as a 'cheap' Nixie-style clock.
I still support the idea of sending it to BigClive including the replacement "tube". It will be interesting to see it as example of solving engineering problems and the evolution of the product.
Well that's certainly a nice turnaround: well done to the makers. I've been considering a nixie clock as part of my redecoration project, but I might pick up one of these too.
Respect to the students for making it right, makes me want to buy from them
I'm really glad to see that the creators of the product made improvements to the design, I might actually get this thing now.
Very glad they fixed it, very nice to see it working now
