Ingo is a guy who's playing inspired me to push myself harder when I first started to drum back in the mid-1980s. I think he is an often overlooked musician who really defined power metal drumming at its inception. It is great to see his family pay tribute to him in this way. RIP.
As a musician who suffers from Schizophrenia myself I find Ingo's story quite inspirational. As tragic as his passing was, he left his stamp on the world by sharing his unique talent on all those brilliant Helloween records. Ultimately life is too short. Stay humble.
I was lucky enough to see Ingo at Donington Monsters Of Rock 1988 and again at the Edinburgh Playhouse during the Keepers 2 tour. Great drummer sadly missed. \m/

I remember on the Pumpkins United Tour in Costa Rica when the drum solo called Battle sounded, Dani Löble appeared, but on the giant screen appeared Ingo, watching them play together towards the tears coming out of the eyes, and suddenly our voices shouted in unison : Ingo, Ingo, Ingo! That emotion ladies and gentlemen was electric, indescribable and unique in that a band pays tribute to one of its most iconic musicians. If there were time machines I would return to that time to shake hands and say: Hello Mr Smile!
Ingo has always been my favorite Drummer.Helloween came into the Tower Records i worked at in 1986 for the CD signing and pictures and I didn't know who they were but I was a Fan immediately.Was at the Tower Records on Beach BLVD.Thanks for putting this up.Are you his sister or wife?
