    Wiz lights vs Yee lights.
    I'm sure lots of people would appreciate that review

    Can confirm yeelight disconnects more than my lifx bulbs. But it seems to depend on what the bulbs are screwed onto. My 2 a19s are on my ceiling never needed to be rested (owned for a year) while my other a19 in my bed lamp only needed to be reset once or twice (owned for 5 months). The 2 Yeelights on the other hand I have to reset around once or twice a week(owned for one year in an ikea tertial desk lamp).

    The main downside to yeelights is that they only come in e27, e27 battens are becoming obsolete in Australia.

    I bought 8 Yeelight bulbs to use with the Yeelight app with Alexa.
    Initially all was well, but it's a regular occurrence for Alexa to report the lights are not working. All returns to normal when I switch them off and back on again.
    3 of the lights have stopped working and I had to do a factory reset (on and off 5 times) to rediscover them.
    One of the bulbs overheats if left on full brightness and then switches itself on and off repeatedly, which results in a factory reset, so I have to go back to the Yeelight App and rediscover the device.
    As I sit here now its on 30% brightness and flickering.
    To date I have had no response from Yeelight.

      Woah that's really unfortunate!
      Switching to a Google Wifi router fixed all my LIFX connectivity issues, so maybe a router upgrade could help?
      As for the defective ones, that's not cool though

      @@minimalistik 2 out of 8 now unusable. - 25% failure rate. Not impressed. Will replace the router and see what happens reference the connectivity, but I have other stuff connected to the router and showing no problems there.

      @@robbrown6495 hey man, any update on the yeelight performance.

    • @robbrown6495
      @robbrown6495 5 лет назад

      @@WillArthurMusic I changed my router but it didn't help. Another problem I have - I tried using the lights that go offline in other places with no wifi - just as a normal light. No problem but every week or so, when I've switched them on and off 4 or 5 times they go through the reset cycle of flashing and changing colour.
      My answer to poor performancs of the Yeeelight product and the complete lack of customer support was simply to buy from a different manufacturer. I'm in the Philippines and a local company called Lasco make a similar product. I've had no problems with them and they are half the price.

    • @robbrown6495
      @robbrown6495 5 лет назад

      @@WillArthurMusic They're made here in the Philippines.
      Whatever you buy I would recommend you buy only one or 2 and try them out in all areas you are going to use them. Test them for a while and see how it goes. Also if possible buy them locally . While the Yeelights were not hugely expensive it was annoying that the company refused to reply and as I bought direct from China it was not worth trying to send the duds back.
      I love having the convenience of voice control, on / off, dimming and changing colour.
      Good luck

    If I set yeelight to blue and turned it off using the normal switch. What color will it be when i turn it back on using the switch? Will it reset to default?

      It will stay blue unless you factory reset it by flipping the switch off and on 5 times using 2 second intervals.

      A Montrealer just Subscribed!
      Came from Toronto a few years ago and Montreal is hands down a far better city to live in. I cant speak French and it's still without doubt a better city to call home, its like part or Europe with so much more culture than Toronto and people are hyper focused on work. Vancouver is great too but the home prices and rent are so high having a family is not possible for many.
      In Montreal you can buy a very nice detached house for $500k which is roughly $375 USD. These homes would not even be possible for me or most people in Toronto or Vancouver. Who the hell has saved since childhood to be satisfied with an older looking house that is average at best that needs $275k for 20% downpayment only.to have a monthly mortgage payment that would pay 2 or 3 monthly payments in other Canadian cities.
      It's crazy.
      Thank you Montreal for prices that let me and my wife own a home that is a nice than we let ourselves dream of owning before coming here.
      And the borough we live in feels almost as English as Toronto. All of Montreal is bilingual enough for English speakers to live just fine...maybe home prices havent gone so high yet because people think you need to speak french here? That or rent control.

    One additional pro for Yeelight - they have an API which allows you to programatically control them however you want!
