HOW TO MAKE AN AMV WITH PREMIERE PRO AND AFTER EFFECTS! (Beginner Tutorial)

Whats up guys, in this video I'm going to show you how to make an AMV using Adobe's dynamic link. The dynamic link allows us to edit in both Premiere Pro and After Effects simultaneously. In addition to showing you guys how to use the programs together, I'm going to show you how to do the twitch effect, s_flicker effect, wiggle effect, and some basic zooms with the graph editor. This video should be perfect for anyone who wants to make AMVs with Adobe video editing software. As always, if you need help or have any questions, drop a comment and I'll respond ASAP.

premiere pro is more user friendly and is good for editing the majority of longer videos (in general not amvs). After effects is better for adding effects to certain parts of the video. Lets use the example of editing a music video. If you were to edit a music video, you would put the entire video together in premiere, then add all your special effects in after effects.
I've been getting this question a lot in the comments of this video so maybe I should have explained it this way in the tutorial. Hopefully this makes sense to you and anyone else who reads this!

@@sideshowmedia9203 in my opinion it’s a lot better to just do the full thing in after effects. If you look at a lot of after effects AMVs vs Premiere Pro AMVs they look a lot better. You’re right though premiere pro is better for video editing in general while after effects is mainly for VFX.

@@Mizuamv I see what you mean, but I don't entirely agree. If you are strictly editing AMVs, then yes, it's usually better to do the whole thing in after effects. After effects is way better for AMVs, its not even a competition. However, if you are working on a professional video for a client (such as a music video or promotional stuff), you are going to have tons of footage to sift through and pick out. In situations like this, it would be suicide to try to do the entire project in after effects. I know this is an "AMV" tutorial, but pretty much everything I teach you how to do in this video can be translated to any other projects

Sucker for Anime you can’t use dynamic link if they’re pirated. That means you can’t make changes to a video in after effects and see those changes show up in the premiere version. However, you can start the project in premiere and put the premiere file into after effects to add your effects, which works in pirated versions. Hopefully that long explanation helped
