Its a very fair price for “diamond and 14k gold”. It not cubic zirconia & gold fill. In addition the baguette diamond cut is more expensive than the round and oval cut.🎃
I love Klimt, I have 6 of his prints throughout my home. His use of gold throughout his works makes me surprised you haven't come across him sooner :)
Also, he is from the art nouveau period. Not sure where the 1990's came in? Maybe a resurgence of popularity? But he was a bigger deal much earlier.

Am I the only one that really misses the cottage? Does anyone know when she's going back to work on it? I've been watching reruns of the cottage thinking it would satisfy my urge to see it but it actually only made me more anxious. Lol 😜
She’s said before that she was really burnt out of working on the cottage for like 2 years straight. I think she’s wanting to focus on her and Romeo and their permanent home in California. I’m sure she’ll get to it when she’s ready!

She’s more than just a content machine she’s a person. This is her main residence so that’s what she’s doing. We’re lucky enough to get a glimpse, so I’ll be patient and I’m happy with her content now

Thought you might enjoy a movie (2015) , Woman in Gold, true story on the recovery (WWII) of one of Gustave Klimt's famous paintings. Stars Helen Mirren, Ryan Reynolds. I think the painting is now in a New York museum.
That movie was great, the art breathtaking- especially when all the WWII tragedy was unfolding.
After watching Tuesday's vlog, I watched this movie on Prime. Loved it!

Recommend the movie ‘Woman in gold’ - it really gives an insight in Klimts art while also just being beautifully filmed - or the movie Klimt if you really want to learn about his live :) and after watching it I’m sure you’ll nail the name 😉

That painting always makes me think of moving away to college in 2008 and living with my first roommate lol. She had a poster of it.
I love Klimt too so I just wanted to let you know the picture is hung vertically. Every time you show the picture, it is shown horizontally. The man is standing and the woman in on her knees.

There’s a really good movie about a Gustav Klimt painting stolen by the Nazis … it’s called Woman in Gold and it stars Helen Mirren.
If you’ve ever seen the movie This Means War with Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine, that might be where you’ve seen the Gustav Klimt before. That’s where I remember seeing his work for the first time and loving it.
I thought it was ridiculous how many negative comments you received for not knowing the Klimt artist piece. If it makes you feel better, I’m 59 years old & I have never seen that piece or heard of the artist. It’s not my personal style, so it’s not a piece I ever would have been drawn to. You are awesome in all you do & you don’t know what you don’t know, so please don’t feel the need to defend yourself to negative people. Rant over 😊
I think Klimt was "big" in Europe, not so much in the States. My bestie had that print in our dorm in the late 70s!
The fact that you haven't heard doesn't speak about Klimt, it speaks about you.

I started to follow your journey with the cottage. Happy for your LA home but I wish you would finish the cottage. The cottage journey helped me as I was planning my own cottage. It's why I started watching you. I do enjoy your diy but hope you finish the cottage soon
She pretty much burned herself out working nonstop for 2 years on the cottage. She needed a break. One would think she she had not completed as much as she has on the cottage from all the comments here about it. She hasn’t got that much left to do.

A few months ago I found the same painting (print), large, beautifully framed at a local thrift shop for $20! At the time I also had no idea of the artist, but boy did it catch my eye! Love it!

Just another little info in regard of G. Klimt: the persons are kneeling, not standing and not lying - you can see it from her ankles on the right. :-) and for the pronounciation of his name: think of it like "climmed". 🙂

I wasn't someone who commented the other day about whether you know Gustav Klimt or not, but I was also quite surprised! Especially since you went to school for a creative field; I learned about Gustav Klimt in like 9th grade art classes, you know? That's kind of the level of his popularity, he should be a household name you know along with Alphonse Mucha and Claude Monet and Salvador Dali, etc. I thought he was standard textbook information!

@@sandieedward993 Who doesn’t know Klimt??? I asked my younger son who is the same age as Macenna if he knew Klimt and The Kiss, just to check. He answered to me: are you joking? He said that Klimt was his favorite artist, and I precise that my son is not a “home decor designer”, he works in music, which has nothing to do with that. With Internet, it’s difficult to miss such a wonderful painting. And the name is pronounced as it is written. Nothing complicated.

@lindafrance9192 I agree that many are going over the top with criticism. I think the surprise comes from knowing that she went to fashion school and that she works in a creative industry. My 16 and 19 yr old know the painting, but they are into history and art. Someone who's not interested in those things likely don't know all the famous artists. Who knows, but hopefully everyone gives her a break! I'm sure she's tired of a million people telling her to watch the Klimt movie lol

there are design softwares out there that let you see the room you're designing and add in furniture/decor
There's a movie about Klimt and the family heritage starring Ryan Reynolds and Helen Mirren called House of Gold. Might be a fun activity for you and your client/friend to do together. Can't wait to see the project come together.

There is a wonderful movie called “The Woman in Gold” that depicts the effort to return a Gustav Klimt portrait that was stolen from the Jewish owners in World War 2 by the Nazis back to the ancestors and rightful owners. Definitely worth the watch. ❤❤
2:53 I re-watched this part so many times, but still can't understand how it was edited - she keeps speaking while drinking the orange juice. I notice such edits all the time, I love them, but can never figure out how the voice track goes on while the video does too!

I don't know how makeovers work, but who pays for all the stuff that isnt sponsored or sent for free? also if someone was doing a makeover for me, i would feed them endlessly when theyre over and shower them with gifts! i hope you get treated like the amazing and kind queen you are!
I don’t think MaCenna ever says, but I’ve seen other creators be more open about how the person who is getting the makeover doesn’t have a big budget so that’s why they’re shopping second hand or that’s why they’re DIYing something instead of buying it. So I assume the person who keeps the stuff pays for it. But I’ve also seen creators take things from their own storage lockers to give to the makeover, so I bet creators are maybe a little loose with the budget and make up the difference themselves, since they are making money off it by posting it after all.
