It depends - if you have a good piano VST, then they don't really need EQ. But stock pianos definitely do. Depends on the sound you're going for but often you need to do some cuts around 1-2K and a little boost/shelf around 4-5k. The stock pianos often have a weak low end and harsh mid-range.
